Aside from its marvelous setting, atmosphere and amenities, this flat is remarkably roomy, homelike and quiet to the outside world (at least in winter with the windows closed) considering its location in the heart of Old Montreal a stone’s throw away from the bustling main streets. Ysabel, the owner, was always very helpful, friendly and accommodating and anxious to ensure that everything was spot on. The flat comes highly recommended and I certainly intend to return.

Although, I thought I knew Montreal fairly well, my stay at this beautifully restored property. The loft is centrally located near wonderful historic sites, museums and fantastic restaurants. The property owners have gone out of their way to supply you with information on the local sites, eateries, and places to shop. The property appears to have been recently updated and the kitchen is fully equipped for your needs. My stay there was not long enough. Hope to return. This would be a wonderful location for people vacationing in Montreal, you are in an area outside of the big city hustle and can imagine what the city was like when it was first settled.
Owner response:Thank you for your good words Len! We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our fair city and our home in the future! Kind regards, Ysabel

What a wonderful, warm and inviting space this was. Ysabel was great when i needed help with booking, etc. We've stayed at many vrbo locals and this is our favorite to date! The location is central to everything but the loft is so warm and comfortable we enjoyed staying in. Amenties we liked: large hdtv, sauna, beautiful kitchen, cozy reading nook, view to the small park, soaking tub, eclectic artwork, wi-fi. It exceeded our expectations by far.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words Darlene! We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again and adding you to our growing list of regulars! Kind regards, Ysabel

We had a FABULOUS extended weekend in Vieux-Montreal; thanks in no small part to Ysabel & Darren's wonderful loft apartment! It's a very comfortable and cozy apartment for a couple to stay. Pretty much everything you need is there. Took no time to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. When the windows are closed, it's remarkably quiet and peaceful - you wouldn't know you're right in the middle of the busy tourist area! We appreciated its smoke-free environment as well. The apartment is in a historic building and the whole area is rich in history. Short strolls took us to many of the historic sites, museums, galleries, restaurants, cafés, antique shops, boutiques, and even to a big market. Our only regret is that we didn't try renting bicycles. There is a Bixi station nearby and would have been a lot of fun as well as convenient to ride bicycles in the city. Ysabel was extremely efficient, friendly, accommodating, organized, and responsive in our communication. Her Guidebook/Instruction book was so informative and useful as well. Personally, the only drawback of the apartment I saw was its small hot water tank which ruled out a hot and long bath/shower, but it's a typical shortfall for a very old building, plus the dry sauna and two-person bathtub certainly made up for it. Only if the jets in the bathtub had worked, it would have made our already wonderful weekend even more heavenly though. ;-) We highly recommend this property to everyone and we're already thinking of returning to the loft in the near future!
Owner response:Thank you Steve & Nikki for your lovely words and your visit! We always look forward to adding new guests to our growing list of regulars! You are welcome anytime. FYI for the bathtub, it is part of our phase 3 renovations which we plan to do in 2012. Should be a whole new better experience then! :-) Again merci beaucoup and we look forward to welcoming you again to our home in the near future! Kind regards, Ysabel & Darren

Thank you Ysabel and Darren for sharing this wonderful loft with us. The loft is exactly as pictured and described. It was very cozy and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is great but we had so many choices to eat out that we did not cook, but if we had spent more days in Montreal we would definitely have used your well stocked kitchen. Many good restaurants close by especially Stash and an amazing pastry shop,Olive and Gourmand. Not to be missed for morning coffee. Ysabel, you were very helpful it providing us with information prior to our arrival in Montreal. Montreal is a lovely city and our stay at the loft just made it so much better. We hope to come back one of these days and will certainly recommend your condo to our friends.

Stayed here for our 10th anniversary getaway and the place was fantastic. Owner made it very simple to get in and get settled very quickly. Extremely convenient location, there are tons of great restaurants within a 1 - 5 minute walk. Stayed 4 days and did not want to leave. Thanks Ysabel, we loved your place!
Owner response:Thanks you two! You are both welcome here again at anytime! We love to welcome repeat visitors! :-) À bientôt! Ysabel

Great loft, very comfortable with pretty much all the amenities you might need. A little noisy when you have the windows open, but that is the price you pay for being in the middle of it all. Location is ideal for exploring historic Montreal. Lots of helpful hints from the owners. Within walking distance of great places to eat - but be sure to go to one of the many markets (Atwater, Jean-Talon) and use the great kitchen to whip up a romantic dinner!
Owner response:Merci Kurt! HOpe to have the pleasure of welcome you again in the future! À bientôt, Ysabel

We had a wonderful time in Montreal and this loft is in a perfect location to all of Old Montreal as well as the downtown area. Walking distance to most anywhere you want to go. Beautiful neighborhood and sitting on a very historical part of Montreal. I would highly suggest the guided bike tour with CA Roule. Very informed bilingual guides. We also took a day trip to Quebec City via the train. It was about a 3 hour train ride but worth it! We would like to spend a lil more time there on our next visit, and we will definitly be back! Ysabel is a true jewell! She is always availiable if you have any questions. She has made sure that you have an abundant amout of information for the area restauraunts, museums, historical sites and places to shop. The pictures are exactly the way the loft looks and it is a pleasure to stay in and cook if you want, or, easy access to an amazing amount of restaurants. You must try the poutine! It looks a lil scarey but it is delicious! Thanks again Darren and Ysabel! We will see you next year at some point. My only regret was not getting a chance to meet both of you. Maybe next time! Thanks again, Chip and Brenda from Texas
Owner response:Thank you kindly Brenda & Chip! Darren and I are so glad you enjoyed the loft and will be happy to welcome you back again anytime! And for certain, next time, let's get together! Merci beaucoup et à bientôt! - Ysabel

The loft was even better than pictured! Location is ideal for exploring historic Montreal. Lots of helpful hints from the owners. Only one problem: we were so comfortable inside that it took an effort to get ourselves out and about. We spent a great Thanksgiving weekend, and would love to return soon.

this is a beautiful loft in a beautiful building in a perfect location!! it's a good feeling stepping out of the place your staying in, and there are hundreds of people a day taking photographs of the building all wondering "what would it be like?" There was a movie being shot, the building was the back drop and we stepped right out onto a movie set on the sunday. Very cool. This place had romance written all over it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic get away!

The loft was in an ideal location to easily walk to the fine restaraunts and sites in old Montreal. The loft itself was excellent, with great ammenities such as the sauna and overhead shower. Though the loft has the latest amenities, it has retained an excellent mix of old and new, truly maintaining the look and feel of an historical building. Additionally, Valerie was a great asset in helping us with ideas and locations suited to our desires and interests in the area. Finally, we really enjoyed the Montreal "BIXI" rental bikes, which were located less than 2 blocks away.

Wow! The loft completely surpassed our expectations! Beautifully restored, perfectly located, walking distance to everything. And Valerie made the whole booking process so easy. She's a lovely ambassador, not just for the loft's owners, but for Montreal itself. Can't wait to come stay again...maybe next time in the winter so we can enjoy the fireplaces and sauna!

This was the perfect location to stay in Montreal. We found ourselves just making an excuse to walk around the neighborhood. The loft was beautifully decorated and lacked absolutely nothing, very comfortable and relaxing to come back to after a day of touring.Dine in or enjoy the excellent choice of restaurants nearby. We will stay nowhere else when we come back to Montreal.Valerie, who handled all the booking details was a sweetheart and and made it all too easy. This is a very romantic place in a romantic city.
