WINTER WONDERLAND
Serene Lakes is named after our two mountain lakes that provide year round recreational opportunities. During summer you can canoe, swim, fish, and sail on our lakes. The Pacific Crest Trail is just three miles to the East with some of the most magnificent scenery in North America. Walking this trail is a relaxing and unforgettable experience.
Ours is a spacious, smoke-free home generously constructed of wood and stone with a wrap around deck. The large windows invite the sun inside early in the morning. A wood stove makes for a warm and convivial atmosphere.
During winter, at 7,000 feet altitude we have some of the best snow in the Sierra Nevada. You can cross country ski on the lakes or at Royal Gorge, just 400 yards from our property. Several downhill skiing resorts are within a 2 mile radius. The Pacific Crest Trail is just three miles to the East with some of the most magnificent scenery in North America. Skiing this trail is an exciting and unforgetable experience.
We have designed the ambience of our mountain home to be a quiet respite from the accoutrements of urban life such as electronic devices, that beep and squeak. VCR's, CD's, and TV's are not part of our western mountain living, but we do have wifi for your convenience. There are games, puzzles, and books.

This is a lovely cabin at Serene lakes! We have rented several cabins at Serene Lakes and this cabin is great! The floor plan of the cabin is very family friendly. We enjoyed the "unplugged" time- my children made Valentine's cards for their classmates after ski days. The cabin is near great down hill skiing (our favorite is SugarBowl), there are ample places to sled, snowshoe and enjoy the outdoors. It is well equipped and very comfortable. The owners are very kind and made communication easy. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

Our family of 5 plus an extra guest found more than enough room in this spacious cabin. All the necessities, were included plus a dynamic washer dryer set-up. With so much snow, the a garage was particularly handy. The WiFi also was a treat since (fortunately) there is no TV. All beds were comfy and the wood stove was well supplied. We look forward to returning again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our families had a wonderful stay there. It was so convenient to get the kids to ski school at Sugar Bowl, and we enjoyed our walks to the lake. The ski house is beautiful and restful.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We loved your mountain home! Staying there was perfect, just what we wanted it to be. It was truly lovely and I could see all the love you have poured into it. We would love to rent it again sometime. I could go on and on with all of the things we enjoyed about it, the location, the well equipped kitchen, the very practical garage/entry, the big open windows with wonderful views, the very welcome wood stove for the cold evenings.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented this house over this Christmas (2009) and had a great time. The house is only about 5 minutes drive to Soda Spring (perfect for little kids), and around 15 minutes to Boreal. The house was well maintained, very clean, and the owner gave very detailed description of how to keep everything running. It has 4 bed rooms, 3 of them above the main floor and 1 of them is next to garage. Spacious enough to fit 3 families. The owners are very reasonable. We decided to stay one more night because the weather was bad. The owner did not hike the rate and simply charged us the typical daily rent for the additional night. We like the house a lot and will come back again in another season. By the way, the house has every thing you need, except TV/DVD. The owner provides a lot of game sets. However, if you are addictive to electronic entertainment, bring your own projector and DVD player. The house does not have internet either, so we had to live without it for a week. Well, I survived (with my blackberry).... It is a great house. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We invite people to our spacious mountain home in the heart of the Sierra Nevada near the Pacific Crest Trail. Recently one happy renter declined to make comments because "I don't want anyone else to discover your place." Come see for yourself!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
