Get away to the Mendocino coast. Tides Turn has a private view of the ocean, yet is a home with lots of room to share with friends or family. We have installed solar panels to help preserve our wonderful California coast and o our part to reduce global warming. Located next to the turn of the century hamlet of Albion only minutes from the charming Victorian town of Mendocino, 7 miles north. Enjoy the birds floating on the updrafts or the boats coming and going as the tides change below. Watch the everchanging sea through the only wooden trestle bridge on the coast of California as the waves crash in the cove and the whales pass during migration season. Relax in the hot tub or barbeque on the deck. Mendocino has a lot to offer. Investigate the tons of drift wood at nearby Navarro beach just 3 miles south, or picnic in the Redwoods or bring a canoe or kayak to explore the Albion River or go wine tasting in Anderson Valley or try the trails at Van Damme State Park & Beach, 3.5 miles north. You can treat yourself to our local restaurants, the best on the coast - the Ledford House or the Albion River Inn or rundown to the Albion Market and deli for a quick fix or Harvest Market in Fort Bragg can deliver all you need to Tides Turn in Albion.?
This conformable 4 bedroom split level home with one King and three Queens beds plus a Queen futon in the family room, 2 bathrooms, master bedroom lavatory, large open style kitchen/dining/living room, plus a large separate family room with satellite TV, sunroom, two decks and spa. Celestron Binoculars and tripod for viewing birds and whales and waves.

This is a wonderful house to rent for a large group. We had eight people and it was perfect with the four separate bedrooms. The house was exactly as advertised, very clean, and super comfortable. The setting is spectacular. Owners were very pleasant to work with and answered all my questions ahead of our visit. I can't say enough good things about this house. I look forward to another stay at Tides Turn. A must is dinner at the Ledford House just across Highway 1, it was superb.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This vacation rental is amazing - it met and exceeded all of our expections. The house is beautiful and it has the best views of the ocean - the pictures do not do it justice. While it is a bit of a drive into Mendocino and Fort Bragg, it is totally worth it. The rooms were all decorated nicely and were very spacious. Everything was clean and we felt at home right away. My niece fell in love with the all birds on the balcony deck/patio every morning and the adults fell in love with the hot tub. We definitely plan on staying there again and we're already trying to figure out the dates!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here with our Granddaughter x 3 days in mid-June. There were two major problems: (1) Our stay was too short, and (2) we wished not to depart. For our stay, the downstairs (two bedrooms) were locked off and surely not needed. This is a gorgeous home with spectacular >180 degree views from the main (top) level. There is a spacious living area with THE best equipped kitchen we have ever encountered in a vacation home, and this living-area separates two master suites, both also with panoramic views. We were contacted twice by the owner in our short stay, once by email to share photos of their neighbors kit foxes... and to invite us over for a view, and the other was by phone to make sure our needs were met. The home is immaculate. Fine dining is within comfortable driving distance and activities abound for inquisitive adults and kiddos alike. One of THE spectacular aspects of this beautiful locale is that it is one of the last places in California that tons of people are not. Thus, we are hesitant to submit this review, hoping we can return frequently in the future. Experiencing Seahorse as guests makes one feel quite special and photos... as the title says... do not do it justice.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had such a wonderful time. The house with it's amazing views, nice art on the walls, plentiful storage spaces, calming color schemes, fully equipped kitchen, wildlife visitors, clean and comfortable and just simply AMAZING! This vacation rental is the best I have ever stayed in, I will absolutely be returning for another visit. The house is HUGE, I went with 7 people total, there were several very nice rooms we did not even get a chance to use.......the bedrooms are very private and separate so great for couples and/or sleeping children, the beds are ALL COMFORTABLE including the pillows, and the bedding is top quality. The kitchen--fully stocked--plenty of quality glasses & dishes (that actually match!), serving dishes, lots of wine glasses (they match too!), several drawers of utensils for cooking, plenty of pots and pans, cabinets full of spices, about 6 cutting boards (yes 6!!--How many times do you rent a place and there is one cutting board and 2 wine glasses!?--instead of feeling like we were camping or just making due it seemed like we were guests in a REAL home!) The hot tub--very nice, beautiful view, private from the rest of the house. The bathrooms were great, never ran out of hot water. The house was VERY clean, everything worked--all appliances, dishwasher, stereo, etc. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the deck, because the house is tucked in a bit inside the cove it is somewhat protected from the wind so relaxing on the deck even at night was pleasant. We awoke to hawks, jays, and a woodpecker flying around in the sky right in front of the deck! The only thing wrong with our visit was that we had to leave! Logistically speaking--the pics in the ad do not accurately represent the beauty of this home (usually it is the other way around!), the owner was very responsive and helpful with providing information, there is a small grocery store just down the road which is great for grabbing missing items or cravings! There are places to eat nearby but frankly I am not sure you would want to leave........also if you happen to stay here don't do this: we were so excited about the house that as we were giving a tour to our friends that had just arrived we went out onto the deck through the second door and closed it behind us locking us out on the second story deck (ugh!), luckily we had 2 additional friends arriving shortly after so we patiently waited for them to arrive & let us back inside. (and luckily we had all walked out with a glass on wine in hand so we enjoyed the view and relaxed while waiting!)Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

A thousand thank-you's would never be sufficient to adequately express our heartfelt gratitude for all the large and small amenities you supplied to us. We felt close to nature because of the lovely surroundings we found at every turn - looking up through the overhead ceiling windows is one example of what we mean by disovering the surrooundings close at hand. We love the spaciousness of the rooms, the availability of stores and a post office down the road. The kitchen was so well equipped that it made cooking our many meals easy. We were all here for a wedding & we came from South Carolina, Michigan & Southern California. The eight of us have delightful memories to take away with us and have grown closer due to having had a most memorable week together. Thank you for sharing your home.Did you find this review helpful? A beautiful weekend spent with incredible friends and family. Your home provided us with all the comforts and warmth we could ask for. The view each morning was incredible, majestic, the fog, wooden bridge, mountains, hawks flying circles and the sun peeking through gave us all a wonderful start to our day. Our family all feel the love you have given to all the detailed of your home. We all agreed that the beds wereperfect and all slept wonderfully. Dreams! Dreams!
