New waterfront four season (heated) vacation house on quiet, relaxing Gardner Lake. Gardner Lake is a clean, spring-fed mountain lake located on the New Hampshire and Vermont border. The house is in a great location to enjoy vacations during both warm or chilly days!
For warmer weather - the house is at the water's edge, with a very nice wrap-around deck overlooking the lake - great for lakeside relaxing and dining. The bedrooms upstairs also have an excellent view of the lake. With a canoe, kayak, and a paddleboat there are plenty of boats for the whole family to get out for a cruise around the lake together! You might also want to get out the floats and swim to our private raft from the toddler-friendly tiny beach area, try to reel in one of the many large or smallmouth bass in the spring fed lake, walk around the grounds and pick blue, red and black berries or go to a nearby farm and check out the local produce and the animals.
There are four rivers within a few minutes of the house (Connecticut, Ammonoosuc, Wild Ammonoosuc, and Wells Rivers) which are all great for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, or floating down in tubes. This prime location has modern conveniences like grocery stores, restaurants, etc.. within 5-10 minutes from the house as well as more traditional New England sites such as country stores, covered bridges, antique shops, farm stands, apple orchards, fairs and more.
For colder weather - the lake offers access to cross country ski trails and ice skating. We go up often in the winter and have a nice rink cleared right in front of the house for skating and hockey fans. The house is less than an hour to Loon, Cannon, and Burke Mountains for downhill skiing and snowboarding and is close to the NH and VT (VAST) snowmobile trails.
Attractions close by: Franconia Notch Park, Flume Gorge, Cannon Mountain Aerial tramway, Lost River, Clark's Trading Post, Six Gun City, Santa's Village, the largest candy counter in the world at Chutter's, and the Polar Caves. |
