Lakefront Exec Home Family Reunion Size & 8 Golf Courses
- Minimum stay:2-7 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
Large Family retreat in one big house for you to enjoy 3600 sq foot at Lake DeSoto Executive home, which is owned and decorated by an artist with original paintings and pottery, secluded on beautiful Lake Desoto with private dock and swimming area for you only. What makes it so nice is that our lake is not open to the general public, since you are in a gated community, you will only see a few boats on the lakes, even on holiday weekends in the summertime which also provide calm smooth waterskiing conditions. There are over 200 acres of spring fed, sky blue water, and each tree-lined cove is home to bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. Lake Desoto offers some of the finest fishing and boating in central Arkansas.
The home is designed for large family gatherings; 90% of our guests use it for family reunions, anniversaries. All rooms are large with three bedrooms on the main floor: master br 18' by 16', adjacent master bath with jetted tub, separate shower and double vanity, that is two one king bedrooms, one queen bedroom and 2nd full bath on main floor. Then down stairs there are Two huge (20 by 19 and 18 by 16) bedrooms, both with two queen beds and a day bed with trundle ( 2 twins ) and one bathroom for the the lower level. Never run out of hot water as the home has a Rinnai continuous hot water system to provide plenty of hot water on demand.
Offstreet parking for 8-10 cars in front of the house is a real advantage compared to other rentals available.
We know the economy is tough and believe you deserve a 'bailout' too!!! There's no better value in Hot Springs Village and no bigger home for your family reunion to all be in 1 home instead of spread out in several homes. Take advantage of our offseason rate of only $1695/week from Sep.-May ( not summer). The summer rate is $1895 for a week booked only Saturday to Saturday.
Our home is the perfect place for several families to share the home (and cost!). Both levels have a 33 foot by 11 foot covered deck overlooking the lake to watch the wildlife and sunrise or moon.
GOLF GOLF GOLF AND MORE GOLF
Hot Springs Village is home to eight major championship golf courses!!!
Isabella rated the #1 course in Arkansas in 2003-06 and 6th best private course nationwide by Golf Digest.
Balboa was rated the 7th best course in Arkansas in 2004 by Golf Digest
Cortez was rated the 6th best course in Arkansas in 1997 by Golf Digest
Magellan was rated 8th best course in Arkansas in 1997 by Golf Digest
Ponce de Leon was rated 5th best course in Arkansas 2004 by Golf Digest
Granada opened fall of 2004 and will be in the top ten also.
Coronado was rated the 6th best course in Arkansas in 1999 by Golf Digest
DeSoto is the original course in HSV and was renovated in 2001.
Diamante is open to clubcorp members and rated 4th best new course nationwide in 1995 by Golf Digest.
Restaurants and fine dining is available at the clubhouses and just outside the main gate three miles from the house. WalMart supercenter is five miles from the house for any last minute needs.
The Family Games area at Hot Springs Village has a pool for everyone only two miles from the house. There is an Olympic size pool for swimming, an 11-foot dive tank with two diving boards, and wading pool for the youngsters.
Take in a game of basketball, enjoy miniature golf free if you bring your equipement or play tennis. The Family Games Area also has a new 3,000 square foot indoor games building that features ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, computer games, movies and board games.
Enjoy an indoor swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool and massage at the Coronado Fitness Center. There is also a comprehensive tennis center with 15 lighted courts.
Within a short 15 minute drive our guests have access to Lake Ouachita, the largest lake (40,100 acres) located entirely within Arkansas, renowned for its scenic beauty and clear waters. The EPA has rated it as the cleanest lake in the United States. The lake is virtually surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest and has one of Arkansas's most pristine shorelines at some 970 miles.
The 40-mile-long lake is a favorite of sailors for its vast stretches of open water. Scuba divers enjoy the clear waters. Recreational boating, water skiing and other water sports are also very popular on Lake Ouachita, which boasts more than 100 uninhabited islands for primitive camping.
For anglers, Lake Ouachita is well-known for its prolific fishing opportunities, especially for largemouth and hybrid striped bass. It consistently ranks in the top ten nationally for largemouth bass and is home to 1995 Bass Champion, Mark Davis.
Spend the day relaxing with a thermal bath and massage in the historic baths of Hot Springs National Park, or go shopping on Central Avenue. Stop in one of the many unique shops or fine art galleries (our manager, Cynthia, is a nationally recognized watercolor artist and instructor and has exhibited her work in several of the galleries downtown). She also enjoys teaching workshops on Cruise Ships, in this home or at our Summit House location atop MT. Nebo near Dardanelle, Arkansas.
The whole family will enjoy Magic Springs’ theme and water parks, Hot Springs National Park, the Mid-America Science Museum, Garvan Botanical Gardens, live music and magic shows and a host of other family-oriented attractions.
A national park, a leading thoroughbred racetrack, a 210-acre botanical garden, a combination theme and water park, and an arts community that's earned the city a ranking among America's Top Ten small arts towns are just some of the reasons the bustling resort town of Hot Springs -- the boyhood home of former U.S. President Bill Clinton -- is Arkansas's top tourist destination.
Art class for your group from owner Cynthia with materials and finished watercolor paintings for only $240 per day. Bring your own boat or rentals are available at the marina on Lake DeSoto one mile from the house or ask us about renting Terry's pontoon boat by the day.

Overall the house was great. There were a few issues that I feel needs mentioning that mainly pertain to the overall cleanliness of the house. The kitchen was not as clean as other houses we have rented in HSV. There were food stains on several of the cabinets and the floor in the kitchen was really dirty. The refrigerator was not very clean when we arrived. Another problem was we never could get the kitchen sink to run hot water and only got lukewarm water at best which was not very good for washing dishes. Also, the oven does not seem to cook at the right temperature. These were the only real issues but they were significant enough to mention. The house is really lovely and nicely furnished and overall our stay was great.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: We want our guest to be happy, so we had a plumber reset the water faucet and we changed out the element in the oven. We have a new cleaning crew coming this year that we are very pleased with.

This house was perfect for our 16 person family reunion. Cynthia was so easy to communicate with; she sent us directions, took care of getting us through the guard gate, and got us passes for the pool. When we got there the house was so clean! Lots of room and a beautiful view of the quiet cove. Desoto turned out to be a little small for boating, so we also took our pontoon boat to Lake Hamilton (easy in and out at the DeSoto marina). But it was perfect swimming off the house dock (beware the slippery steps leading into the water-algae). The only problem with the house was accessibility to the lake for my 87 year old father. Although we knew all about the steps before we rented, it still took a lot of effort for EVERYONE to go from the top deck (living area) down to the water. Good exercise though! All in all, a great lakehouse for a vacation rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented the house for our annual family vacation with 19 in all and had ample room!! The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bedrooms were huge!!! as were the bathrooms..There are reclining sofas in the den that are great, I'm recovering from back surgery and for me they were perfect for sleeping as they lay out like a bed!!! The kitchen had some issues as we cooked all our meals the stove was hard to maintain consistent heat and the oven had definite issues!! Overall the house was great..the only negative is it good use a good cleaning, and the outside yard area was a real disappointment. I couldn't get a decent picture off the deck because the lower area so in such need of work.. this yard could be a real show place but has not had the love needed to be so...There is no sandy beech it is covered in grass. BUT none of this interfered with our fun the house if perfect for large groups, it is not good at all for older folks who have issues with steps the walk to the dock is a bear!!! but so worth it!!! I took my parents and they couldn't do the stairs after one time of trying but loved sitting on the huge decks and watching the kids play. The pontoon and paddle boat we rented from Terry the neighbor was a huge hit!!!! and one of our favorite days was I got Cynthia for a painting party for my girls and I which we could not have enjoyed more, and even ended up with frame able art!!! I highly recommend this!!! A great week in Hot Springs Village!!!!! Thanks to Desota HouseRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Perfect for a family reunion or multi-family gathering. We were six families. Everyone had plenty of space for playing, sleeping, eating, and cooking. We prepared our meals--that's just what we do. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. for our large group. Plenty of parking was most helpful for our large group. The view was wonderful and your hospitality was most appreciated. The house was clean and well maintained. We were comfortable and everyone had a splendid time. The property met our expectations...actually, it probably exceeded our expectations. Thank you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Great house for a family reunion. Really enjoyed all 16 of us being under the same roof, and didn't seem crowded at all....Lots to do, but mostly enjoyed the upper deck, and the dock, that we used everyday to swim. Well outfitted and the owners great to work with.....Would recommend this house to anybody that needs plenty of room. Pretty impressive.....thank you for letting us enjoy it.....Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

This is a nice house with a lot of room to accomodate large groups. The house was as described and the owner was easy to work with. I would recommend this house to anyone who needs alot of room with beautiful surroundings. We did encounter a lot of spiders so I think the house needs to be sprayed. We cooked breakfast at the house and had more than enough dishes for our group.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed our large house for your get away and I looked thru the house and did not see spiders. Are they on the out side of the house? We will be spraying.

We rented this house for our annual 12 man golf trip from 2-6 Sep. Of course we had great golf in the village but it sure was enjoyeable coming home at the end of the round and just relaxing. The top level deck is just great, big and spacious. We use it alot. While inside the house you would have never known there were 12 adult men in there. Tons of room!. We had a great time and highly recommend this house. The owners are great to work with also.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We had a great time this week with our whole family. This house has plenty of room and everything is provided except the food. We needed all eleven beds and wow did we sleep well on these new mattresses. We fish, swim, go to the play ground, go golfing at a decent price and play board games at night. There are even cook books and novels to read. It is such fun to see the children play the piano with a music book there.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We are living on lake Desoto to enjoy swimming and fishing in our own back yard. This village is full of activities for everyone. It is great to be able to golf on different courses with a monthly property owner fee. We can choose from eight beautiful golf courses and boat on any 9 lakes here in the largest gated community in America. I am an artist exhibiting my paintings for sale at the Artist Workshop Gallery and the Fine Art Center of Hot Springs on both on Central Ave. I teach watercolor professionally at Arkansas Art Centers and on cruise ships traveling to different parts of the World. I thoroughly enjoy my time at home in Hot Springs Village. We enjoy walking downtown, going through the many art galleries, spending time at the Horse Races, or dropping in one of the historical bath houses for a bath & massage.
Why the Owner Chose Hot Springs Village:
We have enjoyed the gated community with quiet neighbors that like to swim in the lake too. We lived in the area out side the village for more than 20 years and join in the fun by purchasing a house on Lake Desoto. Lake Desoto is the cleanest lake and first lake on a stream of others and it stays higher in the summer than any of the other 8 in the village. We have a no wake zone in our swim, fish, boating area so you will not be swamped.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is a beautiful area to stay on the lake. We have a great time on the lakes with wild life and no hunting allowed in the village gated community. There are so many amenities with golf clubs, Coronado Center, theater, art shows, dance and restaurants to living here. The temps are mild most of the year. Our guest can golf 18 holes cheaper at twighlight.
We enjoy going for boat rides or just relaxing on the patio down by the boat dock. There are numerous golf courses & restaurants within a few minutes of our vacation rental. We especially love the golf course views from the restaurants.
