This house is amazing! Comfortable and cozy, yet spacious enough for large parties. The hot tub was a dream and the game room kept us all occupied for hours on a rainy night. The beds were all extremely comfortable and the kitchen was full stocked with everything you could possibly imagine. This place is perfect and absolutely stress-free. The owners are extremely easy to work with and their attention to detail is wonderful. At the end of our stay we didn't want to leave and neither will you!

Eight friends came together to celebrate my milestone birthday this year. What a fabulous place! We could not stop saying how much we liked the house. You were out far enough to feel away from it all, but not so far that you couldn't get into town for a great dinner or wine tasting. It was perfectly equipped for everything we wanted to do. We used every facility - pool, spa, outdoor dining table, fire pit, pool table, bocce ball court, well-equipped kitchen, etc. Marybeth and Rob know how to make guests feel welcome in their home. Thanks again for everything. We will be back!

My wife and I hosted an anniversary/birthday get away at this great complex. It could not have been better and our guests agreed. The pool area, bocce court, fire pit, and gourmet kitchen were all hits. Several of us biked and hiked directly from the property which was quite convenient. Recommended highly by us.

Great house in a beautiful setting. Seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but is really about 10 minutes from a number of wineries. Marybeth was always available to answer any questions that came up. Can't wait to go back.

The comfort and beauty of this property goes way beyond what is shown and described in this listing. The owners do a fantastic job with making their home feel like your home. The owners definitely know how to care for and run a vacation rental property. The minute you drive through the property you get a taste of the beauty to come. From the main house, guest house, barn loft, bocce ball court, patio and pool, and the abundance of greenery surrounding the property, you feel like you are in your own little world with all the comforts of home. The property has everything guests need to enjoy their getaway. This was a perfect place for several adults with a few little ones. We definitely will return!

We had a wonderful time at this rental property. The pictures, in my opinion, do not fully convey the pastoral, peaceful, beautiful setting! Everything was in wonderful condition, the kitchen fully stocked. For entertaining and relaxing at home, this is the perfect place. We spent most warm afternoons swimming in the pool and hanging out and appreciated all the noodles/safety vests/beach towels provided. We also ate almost every single meal inside the house too. Although the closest supermarket is 15 minutes away and sonoma downtown was about 30 minutes, the quality of the house was worth any minor extra driving. Our family would love to rent this house again!

My husband and I visited in June along with four other couples. We had such a wonderful time at Marybeth and Rob's house! From the moment we walked through the door we felt very welcome. They left a couple of bottles of wine for us, fresh flowers throughout the house, and a note encouraging us to use anything that we needed, including the washer and dryer. Information about nearby grocery shopping and activities was also provided. This is a great place for a large group to stay, as there is plenty of room to spread out. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, heated pool, Bocce ball court, pool table, and beautiful gardens. I highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Six of us joined in for a great three day stay. The house had everything we wanted and was a perfect setting for a weekend grilling, sitting by a fire place and fire pit, eating well, drinking wine, swimming and hot tubbing. Marybeth was very easy to work with and my only regret was that I could not stay longer.

My husband and I and three other couples just spent a wonderful long weekend at Marybeth and Rob's lovely Kenwood home. We so enjoyed all the welcoming touches - the fresh flowers, wine, maps and area recommendations. There was ample room for all of us to have our own space and also to be together in the spacious home and grounds. The home was immaculate and the grounds perfectly maintained. The gourmet kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The highlight of our wine tasting was the mountaintop tasting at Kunde winery with its spectacular views. We relaxed at home with a game of bocce ball, the hot tub and the firepit. The gated property is beautiful and secluded, yet close to everything - wineries, restaurants, hiking trails, the charming town of Glen Ellen and Sonoma (20 minutes away). Marybeth was so responsive to all our questions and made sure every detail was covered. We would highly recommend this home to anyone heading to the Kenwood area and we hope to be able to return soon.

I came here with my husband, in-laws, and some friends. We had an amazing time. The house was beautiful and very well kept. We loved being close to all the wineries, as well as a 20 minute drive to Sonoma. It was great to have a wonderful relaxing home to come back to each day for a dip in the pool or a game of bocci. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Being able to spread out and do our own thing was also a big plus. I wish I could say this place was horrible - so that it is available next year, but it was simply amazing. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here. You won't regret it!

Marybeth, thank you for letting us stay at your clean, spacious, beautiful retreat in wine country. We are college girlfriends (aka Unicorns) that now live all over the country/world, so unfortunately we don't get to see each other every day like we used to. This was the perfect place for us and our men to stay for a weekend, catch up, and most importantly watch another Unicorn marry the man of her dreams. What a perfect weekend! Thank you! You were such a pleasure to work with.

What a lovely and beautiful vacation spot for multiple generations! Our entire family had a fabulous time in this secluded and peaceful spot. The property is beautifully landscaped with lots of open space for recreation. Three separate buildings are handsomely furnished and well appointed without clutter. Marybeth leaves maps, a list of walking trails, directions to the nearby market, roses, wine.... what's not to love? We will definitely be returning!

This was our second time here and as before everything was pitch-perfect. We rarely return to a place, but we had such a wonderful experience a couple of years ago (July 2008), that when the opportunity came up, we had to visit again! Everything was clean and ready on arrival, no issues whatsoever. The house itself is nicely renovated and furnished with all the amenities of a home. The place is clean, quiet, functional and charming. They owners had gone out of their way to erect a safety fence around the swimming pool as we were bringing a 2 year old and the bocce court was evenly raked and ready to play on; details that may escape some, but not here. It truly does feel like a home when you're there, and the location is perfect. We're looking forward to returning again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Rob and Marybeth's home in Sonoma! It was the perfect weekend getaway. The home was full of amenities to keep us all entertained - bocce ball court, swimming pool, small vineyard, fire pit, ping pong table, plenty of hiking trails nearby... The location is secluded & quiet, yet still close to town. The perfect vacation home in one of the best towns in CA!

It is a very comfortable place. We felt at home here and we'll definately be back. Thanks MaryBeth and Rob

The home is just beautiful and it was the perfect setting for our diverse group. With two little munchkins, grandma and our nanny in tow we were able to spread out and have a little privacy. The rooms were big, the beds comfy and the house was remarkably cool even without air co. Marybeth was a most gracious host who went out of her way to purchase a baby bath seat for our 8 month old as well as provide toddler plates and sippy cups. This was a very quiet and secluded location yet it was an easy drive into either Santa Rosa or downtown Sonoma. All in all, I would highly recommend this to a family or a diverse group who wants to have enough space for everyone to gather and have fun together but would appreciate some privacy as well. And if you've got a 2 year old who wants to have a picnic in a different spot around the house every day, then this is the place for you too.

Our three-generation family loved staying at the gated compound -- grandparents in one guest house, teenagers in the other, and parents in the main house. The residences are beautifully decorated and immaculate -- first class in every respect. The grounds are perfectly maintained and we appreciated the solitude of being in the country. Marybeth was a perfect hostess (although we never actually met her in person). We arrived to find two bottles of wine, roses in every residence, and write-ups about local restaurants and activities. When we called her with questions about logistics and for restaurant recommendations, she was very responsive.

Well folks, If heaven is anything like Rob's and MaryBeth's place here in Sonoma we're all in for a great time !!WOW what a place. Three different buildings that allows both space and room for up to ten people. Guys, be prepared to hear your wife say "I love this kitchen". Bocce ball, hot tub, swimming pool, and during an October trip, seeing the cab grapes on the property ready to be picked. Very attentive owners who TRULY want you to experience a nice time on your vacation. WE WILL BE BACK. I highly recommend to anyone

Our family celebrated Fathers' day here with the whole family of 10 people. The property is cozy but spacious enough for everyone to spread out. Every attention to detail is taken care of. The grounds are beautiful with every imaginable flower in bloom. Our elderly parents live close by but didn't have enough room for everyone at their home, so this was the perfect place. From bocce ball to swimming to the perfect outdoor table for dinner, it was a special weekend. The owners are fantastic and truly care about their home and their guests.

I have stayed at this lovely property for two years in a row (one week visits in August), along with a group of friends, and we hope to make it an annual vacation spot for our group. It is perfect for multi-family vacationing, and is particularly kid friendly. We all have small children under the age of 6 who fondly refer to the property as "Sonoma House" and loved running around the grassy areas of the property and swimming in the pool and hot tub. The owners are wonderful and incredibly responsive, and made sure we had a safety gate to close around the pool, noodles for the kids to use in the pool, and even a brand new pack and play to use. The beds are heavenly and the 3 buildings on the property are beautifully decorated. The kitchen is set up for gourmet cooking. Though the property is only a short drive from San Francisco, we all really felt like we "got away" -- life is bucolic and peaceful sitting at the table next to the bocce court watching the sun set with a glass of wine! We can't wait for our next visit to Sonoma House!

Last week my book club girlfriends were lucky enough to find this perfect respice for our annual retreat. We are all well traveled and a little spoiled, but this home far exceeded our highest expectations. The landscaped grounds, the beautiffully appointed homes, the variety of entertainment options, and the attention to detail of the owners is much more like being a guest at a friends home rather than a visitor at a rental property. Everything about this lovely retreat is, in an uncommon manner, gracious, accomodating, relaxing and inviting. We already booked it for "The Same Time Next Year"

A group of seven girlfriends stayed for a long weekend and we had a fantastic time. What a wonderful break from reality and perfect place to catch up from our hectic lives. The three different houses were perfect for those who wanted to keep different schedules as well as have room to spread out. We loved the kitchen and the pool area. I just wish we would have had a few more days to enjoy the property and surrounding area - we hit the wineries and did some serious buying every day, and 3 full days wasn't enough time to take advantage of everything else there is to do both in the area and at the house. I would definitely recommend this house and plan to stay again in the future.

I have rented many properties like this in places like France and Italy, and I have to commend the upkeep and attention to detail that this location offers. You feel as if you are staying in a friend's place rather than a rental property. The beds are incredibly cozy and property enables 10 people to be extremely comfortable with enough space to spread out and the pool that brings everyone together. We will be back soon.

This was a wonderful experience. We stayed at the house for 3 days during my daughter's wedding (at a nearby winery) and it was the perfect choice. I can only repeat the comments of other visitors about the excellent quality of property - the setting, houses, garden, pool, spa, bocce ball court. But I can't speak highly enough of the owners. Their attention to detail in the kitchen and, indeed, all though the house gives you a clue that they really care. And their immediate response to a request for help clinched it. They are terrific people. We immediately felt at home as we drove up and as soon as I can gather enough family and/or friends together, I'll be back.

We just returned from our trip to Napa Valley (Kenwood). We went there for my sister's wedding and I am SO happy that I found this amazing property for myself and my family to enjoy. The landscaping was gorgeous. The pool and hottub were awesome! The spacious 3 houses were ideal for my family to separate but also join together in the main house. I was slightly shocked about the fact that there was not any air conditioning (being a Texas girl). I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the house stayed and how cool it got at night. The guys really enjoyed the pool table and tried their hand at the bocce court. We all just had an amazing time there and wish we were able to have stayed a few days longer to really get to relax and enjoy the wonderful ammenities. Thank you for everything!

Totally fantastic in every way--beautifully landscaped grounds, well appointed and very comfortable rooms (bedrooms and common areas are furnished with high quality rugs, sofas, beds, linens etc), tons of amenities (hot tub, bocce ball court, swimming pool), and extremely nice and helpful owners. We celebrated my parents anniversary there with 4 couples. Everyone loved the home and the location. One couple is already planning to go back with their children and grandkids! The bunk house is charming with 2 Q beds together in a semi-loft, complete with reading lights, large windows, TV, comfy sofa, etc. I stayed there and loved it. The guest house was perfect for my parents. By the way, the main house has both a den (TV/VCR/DVD/stereo) and a living room (TV/DVD) so if you have a big group with different tastes, you can show 2 movies simultaneously. A professional chef catered dinner and was pleased with the kitchen--it is well stocked and easy to use. I can't say enough nice things about how thoughtful the owners are, both in terms of how the house is arranged for all guests and how they helped us out with all our special needs. This place is a major find, the best I've ever rented including homes in Hawai'i, Tahoe, and Oregon. I can't wait to go back.

Greetings!!! The Kenwood Villa is superb in every way being central to all of Sonoma and a short 45 minute drive to Napa and an hour to the coast. It provided superb accomodations for our family reunion. Between the pool, hottub, grounds, walks in the area, Bocci, wine, wild deer and eats on the patio at sunset, there is no place better than the Kenwood Villa. I must tell you as well, the mattress in the MAster Bedroom is the most comfortable one I have ever slept on in 61 years and all the brothers and wives said the same of theirs. Great wine, great food, great family and a great time. Restaurants abound from simple fare to 4 star seatings. Wineries within the immediate area of Kenwood are ample and awesome. Once one develops a "feel" for the area, it is easy to get around and find everything you wish to see. You must try the Russian River Kayak Run. What a blast that was. The pottery shops found northbound on Route 12 are great. If anyone has a bad time at the Kenwood Villa, they will have worked hard to do exactly that. "Outstanding" is the word that best describes this location and its' Owner. Feel free to call on me at any time or email me if you have any questions at all. Peace always rj

Date Rating Comment [Guest Comments: 3 positive, 0 negative] 06/29/07 Positive This property is so fantastic! Our family had so much fun winding through the beautiful hills and vineyards of Kenwood to find this hidden jewel. Once we arrived, we enjoyed exploring the tasteful and casual main house, charming studio guest house and the cozy converted barn. For our family, center stage was the beautiful courtyard patio with a large table and rock edged pool. We appreciated having a removable and unobtrusive child safety fence in place upon our arrival. The kitchen was a dream - the cooks in our family used lavender and rosemary fresh from the patio garden in several dishes. The pool, bocce court and garden paths appealed to our children, and the adults enjoyed the ambiance of the courtyard patio during the day and evening as a conversation area. Anonymous, Portage, Michigan 04/03/07 Positive This is a very beautiful property that comfortably accommdates ten people. The grounds are spacious and provides lots of privacy from neighbors. Photos are accurate but doesn't do the property justice in representing it's beauty. It's the perfect Sonoma getaway. Janette 04/03/07 Positive This house was a wonderful retreat in Sonoma. It is tucked away from all the main roads, in a beautiful and relaxing setting. The house is very spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable.
