Beautifully restored, 1850s, beach house one block from Newport's dramatic Cliff Walk. Feel as if you have stepped into a 19th-century beach house with its ten-foot ceilings, but with modern amenities.
As you enter the house, left of the foyer on the first floor with its bathing suit display from the 1900s, is the living room with a large screen TV, down-filled sofas, wooden games and books for your relaxing pleasure. French doors lead from the living room to the large open kitchen. The newly renovated kitchen has an island and seating area for friends and family to pull up a stool and join in the conversation! The kitchen has a microwave, professional gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, dishes (both casual formal Wedgwood), utensils, glasses, and cookware.
To the right of the foyer is the formal dining room. The dramatic red walls, original marble fireplace, and 1880s square grand piano make the dining room a warm and inviting space. The open staircase leads to the living quarters on the second floor. On the right is a large master suite with a queen-size bed and two closets. A second bedroom has two twin beds. Both rooms on the right have separate doors that lead to a full bath.
To the left of the stairs is a second master suite with a queen-size bed and sitting area with a one-and-one-half size chair that opens to a twin-size bed. There is another room on the left with two twin-size beds - both rooms with separate doors lead to another full-size bathroom with a shower. There is off-street parking for three vehicles.
Arrangements can be made for a housekeeper/cook, if desired. |
