Great Little Getaway Cabin

Guest: Tammy M.
Date of Stay: 10/15/11 Review Submitted: 10/24/11

This place is perfect for 2 couples and even better for a family. The cabin is quaint and cozy and conveniently located to everything. It has everything you need plus a great hot tub to soothe the muscles after a rough day of snowboarding during the winter or a adventurous day of mountain biking during the summer and fall. I highly recommend staying here as you will not be disappointed.

Owner response:It's great to have many returning guests who treat the house like it's their own! Thank you. Jamie

Wonderful home in Lake Tahoe

We stayed in the house for 3 nights. It was amazing, the facilities/amenities are too good. We just felt staying in our own house. The north shore of the lake is very near to the house. If you are planning for lake tahoe, would certainly recommend staying in the house.

We really enjoyed staying at this cute chalet last summer. The place is clean and big enough for 4 people. Walking distance to stores and close to the beach. Hot tub is the best.... we will go back there again.

Wouldn't recommend

A little shabby, mostly clean BUT one kitchen cabinet was littered with mouse droppings. The downstairs bath smelled vaguely moldy. The upstairs shower leaked onto the kitchen when in use. We never got the DVD player to work. The "wireless" service never worked so we had to use an Ethernet cable and even that took a long time to get working. To his credit, the owner did his best to help with these things but he is in the East Coast so it was all by phone. We were under the impression that the fitness center was included in the price of the rental from the description but it turns out we had to pay the $15 non resident fee to use it. The private beach was awesome and we spent the majority of our time there (you have to drive to it, about 5 minutes). Raley's is very nearby so that was nice for supplies. The neighborhood was very quiet. We never used the hot tub. It is in a tiny backyard that borders on a highway so it was not an appealing setting. Incline Village is great, we will return...but not to this rental.

Owner response:I felt terrible after trying to help these people get the DVD players and wireless to work. I could not understand why neither was working as I never had this issue before, so I ordered a new $75 wireless router immediately. When the next people checked in a few days later they had absolutely NO ISSUES with the DVD or Wireless internet and we have had no issues since. I have no idea what these people were doing, but I do not appreciate the negative review when there was nothing wrong and not sure why they thought the fitness center was free, even residents pay, but I did send them FREE beach passes, maybe this is where their confusion was??? I had the cleaners check the cabinets for mouse dropping - NONE FOUND and no leak found either. My wife and I do take it to heart when guest are not pleased with our chalet, so I still feel bad these people didn't enjoy their stay, but I am also very confused by the issues they mentioned???

The chalet was the perfect get-away. A quick 20-30 minute drive to great ski resorts, extremely cozy, clean, and well-stocked with home necessities (e.g. kitchen appliances, linens, etc.). We looked forward every day to using the hot tub after a long day of skiing/snowboarding. We will definitely be back. Great landlord to work with, too.

After a long flight from the East Coast I was excited to open the door to this adorable mountain chalet. My husband and I took our 2 year old daughter, and found the open layout ideal. Super Clean and Cozy. The owner even suggested places for myself and daughter to visit while my husband went skiing. Can't wait to go back in the SUMMER.

My 5 friends & I stayed at this cozy chalet for 1 week in January 2009. There were 2 men and 4 women. The 2 men stayed in the twin bedroom and there was plenty of room for the 4 women upstairs. All of the Tahoe ski areas were very easy to get to, with 3 being only 15 minutes away. We had a Great! time and I would definately stay here again. The hot tub was a delight after a hard day of skiing.

Fun time in Tahoe

Guest: farming 4two (North Carolina)

We enjoyed our stay on the North shore of Lake Tahoe. When we arrived at the cabin we were greeted by the year round neighbors small child who went into the cabin ahead of us. We were a little surprised at how close the cabins are to eachother. I would say less then 10 feet. The hot tub was not at all private. Small childrens toys were around the tub. Gave impression someone is using it as a pool. One of the main streets is located directly behind, and again the back deck is in clear view from all the other cabins. The owner sent information of the area, along with a one day beach pass. We did give a friend the property information. Explaining that privacy is limited. The cabin provided a place to rest after a day of sightseeing.

I wish the owner would mention that the 2nd bedroom is a loft, one big loft with a bed and a futon. We were looking and paid for 2 bedrooms, as with doors and walls, and ended up with one. Another issue was that the bedroom on the main level doesn't get any heat if the door is closed. It got very cold in the evening and at night (54 degrees), we had to buy a space heater, so that my child doesn't get sick, then it was fine. Other than that it was OK.

Owner response:After renting this property for over three years now this is the first time we have had this complaint. The details are listed of the Master loft, which is a great bedroom unit with lots of room and since this feedback we have made sure there is a space heater in the downstairs bedroom.

What an adorable place. So warm and cozy. Beautiful scenery. All the amenities you could ever want. We stayed three nights, but wish we could have stayed longer. We will plan better the next time so we can spend a full week there. So much better than a condo or hotel room.

What a great place! We were there for one week and were able to enjoy the lake, as well as easy access to the highway for trips to Reno. Incline Village is a great spot. The house was comfortable, the hot tub was great as well as the barbque grill. The cabin is in a little community and the neighbors are all very friendly.
