The Thomas House
Make your beach vacation a TRIP! Stay at the Hippest Vacation House on 30-A! The Thomas House is an Interior Designer's beach home, created to be hip and different from your typical Beach Rental, appointed with comfortable classic modern furnishings (Herman Miller, Knoll, Eames, etc.). The home is designed to support every whim from hammock napping to gourmet cooking.
The house is located inside a newly designed, intimate beach community, just down from infamous Goatfeathers and Balsamati's Restaurants. The house's property is situated directly on one of the two communities pools, just a short stroll (500 yards) from the beach. We also have a large one bedroom condo (sleeps 6) directly on the beach just down the road in Blue Mountain Beach. you can combine the condo with your rental and have an outpost for grandparents or that childless relative.
The master bedroom suite includes; tub, separate shower, king-size bed (high end mattress), Le Corbusier chaise lounge, french doors that open to a wrap-around private balcony that peeks through the trees at the community pool. One guest room with a queen bed (partial view of hidden lake), the other with bunkbeds, the fourth bedroom/study on the first floor equipped with an expensive birch wood slated futon which includes a featherbed coverlet (very comfortable).
All bedrooms are full of windows and natural light. Wonderfully appointed kitchen with Corian counters, Kenmore Radiant Collection appliances, and all other top-o-line misc. tools (blender, toaster, etc.). The house is designed to accommodate virtually every vacation need... including an owner written/assembled journal of favorite "insider" places to eat, play, day-trip, or shop (with directions and menus and costs included).
Adjacent to the property you will be delighted to find over 20 miles of continuous/separate paved Greenway Trails (biking or walking) that weave through some of the most picturesque Beach Communities/lakes in florida (Seaside, Grayton Beach, Redfish Lake, Eastern Lake, etc.).
Old Florida Village is a short stroll to the shops at Gulf Place (free open air jazz concert every Sunday evening) and a short bike ride to the shops found at Grayton Beach, Watercolor, and Seaside (Starbucks, Publix, bike rentals, etc.). Hop in the car for a ten min. drive to the massive shops of Sandestin Resort/Baytowne Wharf and Sand Destin Factory Outlet...
If an active vacation is required; stroll to the beach for some clear water snorkeling, sandcastle building, and shell seeking or try the exceptional SINGLETRACK mountain bike/hiking trails that begin virtually from your doorstep and meander over 15 miles through Eastern Lake State Park/Point Washington State Forest... or give the famous Cory Pickos Wakeboarding and Ski School a try literally just down the road.
Within a half hour drive you'll find Tom Fazio's new golf course, or a little closer, two miles down the road, you'll find the challenging course at the Santa Rosa Beach Club/Golf Course. Do we even need to mention the World Class Deep Sea Fishing in Destin. How about some Putt Putt, or an Amusement Park, Jet Skiing, Para-Sailing, Marine Parks (two, one in Fort Walton Beach the other in Panama City, either less than a half hour drive)... The house also comes fully stocked with Beach Chairs, DVDs, Regional books, Board Games, etc...
