Our extended family really enjoyed our stay for the week, with the lovely views of the lake from upstairs and downstairs, and plenty of room for outdoor play with our kids. The grandparents appreciated having a place of their own downstairs. The house was very clean, and the kitchens were very well equipped. We appreciated having ceiling fans in the upper bedrooms, and box fans to use when we needed them. The beach out front was great fun for rock hunting, and we had a great time swimming at the larger Hiawatha beach just a mile down the road. We enjoyed the campfire as well. Thanks for providing us with everything we needed to appreciate this lovely part of Michigan.

My family loved spending time at this place. Besides having lots of room to spread out in the duplex the view of Lake Michigan was awesome especially the sunset every night. We swam in the lake 5 out of the 7 days we were there. It was nice having the private beach all to ourselves. Also the owner was super nice and very easy to communicate and work with to accomadate us on such short notice. We are lookiing forward to coming back there next year.
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed it! I hope to hear from you again next year.

With 5 children and 1 dog we were all set to have a good time in the beautiful Upper Peninsula. What we did not expect was to find Jason's place to be so welcoming, so easy to keep tidy, so roomy and so comfortable. The views of the moon setting on the lake and the gorgeous evenings were perfectly enjoyable from the front lawn. It helped that the neighbors were so friendly and the weather so wonderful. We found a back road to get to the Taquamenon Falls and to the Bear Ranch. The Mistery Spot was somewhat lame, in fact, we have something similar in South America but they don't attribute its 'misteries' to any phenomena of the local physics or anything like that. The Vesper Cruise (free-free-free, with a donation to the church) was very nice and was the perfect ending for our week-long vacation. Now Jason, if you could just get rid of the mosquitoes in the St Ignace area I would give it 10 stars!!! I guess next time we'll take extra "Off".
Owner response:I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to hear from you again next season!

I was with the group that rented from June 21st - 28th, 2008 and I can't say enough how much I loved the place. Everything was in working order, with some very new looking appliances, and all very clean. The view was terrific, and once I figured out the stone stairs down to the beach I spent about as much time as I could out there walking, sitting, reading. The beach was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. It was nice being a bit away from the main tourist areas, but close enough that it was only a 15-20min drive to get into town to catch the ferry over to the island. The location was a perfect balance really. I would, without a doubt, recommend the condo to friends or family looking for a great, affordable getaway spot in MI. I definitely hope to come back next year.

Thanks, we had a great time. The location is perfect as is the view. The drive into town is scenic and not too long. The house is comfortable and just the right size for our group. The new stove downstairs is great too. I would definately go back again. Thanks again.

We had a great time the week we stayed at the Duplex. It is clean, roomy, has a great view. Enough beds so everyone had their own. The beach was nice and secluded. It was relaxing. A great get away from the hustle and bustle back home. We went fishing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, and sightseeing. It was great to come back to the duplex every day and relax with a DVD from the video store in St. Ignace. I especially liked having a washer and dryer so I could throw in a load in the morning and get it out in the evening. I didn't have go home with a car load of dirty clothes.

Wow! What a great vacation. It was so nice to arrive at your property & marvel at the views of Lake Michigan, the condition of the home & most of all, appreciate the very clean & inviting interior. The girls loved having their own space upstairs, but not as much as the adults enjoyed having their own space downstairs. We were only ever 1.5 hours or less from any of our destinations which always made coming home for the sunsets a real treat. The beach & lake were private & warm too. Who could ask for anything more?!?! Thank you so much Jason. We will be back!

Comment Text: We had a great time on our Michigan vacation (July 15-22, 2006) and was very pleased with the duplex and the large lot. It gave our kids an area to play without worrying about the highway. We loved the stretch of beach across from us and spent a lot of time playing in the waves and watching the gorgeous sunsets. It was wonderful to wake up to the view of the lake every morning. The location is nice as you're not too close to the city to be bothered by the traffic, yet near enough to get to all the sites within 20 minutes. It was nice to come back to the duplex everyday as you felt you were coming back to a home with all the conveniences. For all the Moms out there, the washer and dryer in the lower unit was a blessing! We would definitely come again. Thanks, Jason, for taking such good care of our needs and for answering our email questions so quickly and positively!

Jason, just want to say thanks again for those lightning fast responses to any and all E-mail questions we sent. The duplex was wonderful and the view from the upstairs can only be described as spectacular. Once we found the stone "steps" getting down to the lake was no problem and that made for some spectacular sunsets and star gazing we even mannaged to see a beautiful double rainbow. It was far enough away from everything to be out of the crowds but close enough to still have everything right there. I'd love to rent again if the chance presents itself and to anyone thinking about it who's unsure I say go for it you'll have a wonderful time I know my group did.

Ok place but only got 2 channels on TV so with the rainy days my 3 teenage boys went a bit crazy. Also, beach days we drove down the road since the rocky climb was a bit too much across the road.According to the picture the beach right in front was not rocky so we were a bit dissappointed.Lots of spiders hanging in the windows. The upstairs fan did not work and the downstairs oven did not work. But we love that beach up there.

This was a "cool" vacation. Everyone enjoyed themselves. It was wonderfully quiet and away from the city. I will recommend this to all my family and friends. The teenagers had a gret time playing in Lake Michigan.

With 4 teenage boys, we definitely enjoyed the use of the whole cottage. They slept in the upstairs and it was like their own apartment with their own appliances. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the cottage. Oh! And what a view! We definitely want to come back. Thanks Jason! Tim & Janey Studer

My family and I had a great time we had 3 straight days of rain and The Duplex came in great for entertaining A 7yo and 4yo little boys without having them go stir crazy. The Pictures dont due the home justice It is a very clean with plenty of room it has perfect up north cottage charm with modern mixed in to make your vacation great. We had five Adults and 2 small boys there for 10 days and loved it we plan on returning next summer. It's a bit of a drive from the torist atractions But if you have been to the area in the summer you will enjoy getting away from the crowds. We Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy Northern Michigans Thanks again Jason The Knight Family

Jason -- We had a marvelous time!!! Love the weather you had waiting for us. We never even needed a sweatshirt. We were able to do all the main things we had planned to do--just couldn't squeeze anything else in. The Falls were beautiful, as always. The kids were able to go swimming in Lake Superior without freezing to death---and we adults were able to collect some stones to bring back for our gardens & projects. We took the Vesper Cruise on Sunday night out under the bridge and then walked across it on Mon. AM. They cancelled the walk about 11:15 due to wind but we had walked it and were back on the St. Ignace side before that. We went back to the cottage/house and had a "left-over lunch" which was really pretty good. We were out by 2 pm. Indeed--we will recommend it to others. Don't have many down here that would be interested but will keep it in mind for any of our friends up "norther". We tried to leave it in good shape and easy for the cleaning crew to follow-up. I think I goofed by putting the keys back in the locks. Will do better next time. Speaking of next time--I think (at this point in time) that we would be interested in renting it again next year for about the same time if it will be available. You can let us know. Thanks again. Faith
