Our four season home is located in South Harpswell, on Potts Point, a small seaside community jutting out into central Casco Bay. Potts is a picturesque, friendly neighborhood. It is unique in that while quiet and an excellent place to walk and kayak, it also has a town dock, a lobster pound, and a restaurant all within a five minute walk.
This home has been completely renovated and is fully winterized. Some of the updates this year include: new paint, brand new queen mattress, new microwave and HE washer and dryer, new picnic table, adirondack chairs/table and outdoor rocker and updated lanscaping. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the spare bedroom has two single beds, a full kitchen/sunroom (front room), a living room with a sleeper sofa and a TV/DVD/VCR player (books, games and some movies) and "map room" that has a NOAA very large map of the area, map of area lighthouses, books on shells you may find and other resources like tide charts for the area! Dining and front room has large bay window overlooking the ocean- a great way to start the morning with a cup of coffee! As you can see, you are on the water and have rock stairs that go from the property to the practically private beach to shell, swim or kayak.
Right outside your window you will be visited daily by eider ducks and many other types of birds and wake up to smell the salt air and rugosa roses!
Kayaking is very popular in Ash Cove. Feel free to use our two kayaks with paddles and lifejackets (State law requires wearing these) during your stay. We also have a "haul-off" for your dingy as well as a 250lb mooring in front of the house. Walking out to the uninhabited Point is very popular and there you can search for sea glass, shells or sand dollars at low tide and surf cast at high tide.
There are also many restaurants within a fifteen mile radius. We are located twelve miles from Brunswick and just a half hour from downtown shopping in Freeport (L.L. Bean). We have put together many menus of area restaurants so you can can look for a meal without leaving the house!
We have put a lot of love into this home and we hope you appreciate our efforts as it is where we vacation too! We request that renters treat it with the respect that this special property deserves and only rent with that thought in mind!

The Unique Benefits of this House
We love to kayak. Having Orrs and Bailey Islands nearby is a great plus to this location. Where else can you walk to a restaurant, walk to get a lobster right off the boat or go just feet to the ocean?

We fully enjoyed our week in Harpswell. The listing description was completely accurate and we were very pleased with the home and the location. It worked well for our family of five. Very peaceful and relaxing - we loved being able to walk to the dock to get lobsters fresh off the lobster boat, searching for shells on Potts Point, and relaxing in our own yard. The kayaks are also a great way to get out on the water and explore the cove! We were sad to see the week come to a close. We highly recommend this property - particularly for those that want to slow down, enjoy quality time with your family in a beautiful setting, and experience life on the ocean.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

First, I must say that I am a complainer. Second, there was NOTHING to complain about!!! The place is prettier than in the pictures. The directions were great, including getting the key. I felt like I was a welcomed guest. And I must say, I hated to leave. Who will watch the ducks in the morning? The property is maintained beautifully. In decorating, and preparing to rent the property, the owners thought of everything. Oh, and no bugs!!! How much better could it get?
