A truly delightful spot to enjoy the best of Rome. Time on the delightful terrace begins and ends each day. Staying near Campo de Fiori means a quick trip for fruits, bread, and breakfast supplies. We love walking all over the city with this as our base. It feels like home...only better!

Perfect!

This apartment is nothing but wonderful! Halfway between St. Peter's and the Forum, half a block from the Campo market, and the perfect terrace so you can get away from it all and just sit and look at the rooftops and church domes, watch the birds, and hear the evening bells. The Campo can get rowdy at night, but once the shutters are closed you'd hardly know it was there. 3 of us lived here for 2 weeks, while a 4th friend staying nearby joined us for breakfast and dinner some days. There was plenty of space and ammenities, the kitchen is just right for small meals, and the beds are very comfortable. Matteo and Lex handled all our needs with great care and patience. Thank you both (and Annie) for putting up with my OCD and all my questions!

An ideal stay...

A lovely and clean apartment, in a great location, with responsive owners/managers. Even with construction scaffolding, the terrace made the experience—espresso in the morning, then cheese, a glass of wine and a St. Peter’s in the distance to end the day. We look forward to returning

In June 2008, we had booked this property and dealt with Matteo for a number of months. Our experience was so fabulous. The house is so functional and clean and at the same time really attractive. The location with a bad house would have been worth the rent. Matteo was engaging, polite, witty, competent and a better source of information than any book or website. We have nothing but good to say about this lovely house and Matteo. My unqualified recommendation is given.

"In late April 2008 we stayed at the condo at Compo de Fiori. It was the perfect location. Its location and surroundings allowed us to see and feel Rome as it should be. Compo de Fiori was fantastic, with a produce and flower market every morning except for Sunday and Monday, and ringed with cafes, pubs and restaurants. We were able to buy produce, meats and pasta and took advantage of the apartment to make and eat a few meals. The accommodations were all that you could ask for. The condo was roomy, yet felt very homey. Nicely decorated and large enough for four adults. The best part was the terrace. An absolutely spectacular place to have a bottle of wine, cheese and bread. If you want to stay in a Marriott or Hilton-like hotel, which is a real mistake in Rome, this is not for you. It’s a much better experience. Vic and Karen

We spent our first 2 weeks in September, 2004 at the apartment during the year with lived in Rome. It was a wonderful place to begin our year in Rome. For a short visit to Rome, it is centrally located. The apartment is comfortable and well stocked for visitors. Make sure you take advantage of the spectacular terrace - prepare a meal, watch the day turn to twilight or just sun yourself outside.

In September 2006, my wife and I stayed in this apartment with another couple. We could not have been more pleased with the experience. The location (Campo Di Fiore)is ideal, not too "touristy" but within a short walk or cab ride of everything you'd want to see in Rome and, as well, a few steps from some very good restaurants. There is also a daily market in the nearby square, providing everything you need for an al fresco lunch on the apartment's patio (which has a partial view of St. Peters). The apartment itself is wonderful. It is essentially the penthouse of a five story (elevator) building. It's quiet and very spacious. The bedrooms, both air conditioned, were perfectly fine and the bathrooms, kitchen and living room more than adequate to our needs. A bonus, unadvertised feature of the apartment was Matteo, our young landlord. He was more than gracious and made a number of very helpful suggestions upon our arrival. (The most valuable of these, by the way, was that we purchase a Europa telephone card at a local tobacconist. It enabled us to call the US for pennies a minute from either the apartment's phone or a public phone.) We would rent this property again in a flash. Don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like more detail.
