This place is as-advertised and more. We just finished a week's stay with 6 adults and 2 toddlers; all fit comfortably in the house and everyone had a great time. We're already talking dates for a return trip. The beach is perfect for kids and adults alike - we easily rotated surf sessions and people with the kids on the beach; kids can easily see you out there and play in the inside waves even at a very young age (very safe beach). Also as a good surf spot for groups with a range of abilities including complete beginners. The house itself is nicely set up, with a comfortable central "hang-out" area and porch, and the combination of the pool and an easy walk to the beach is excellent. The house also has a nice "tucked-away" feeling to it, yet is close to everything in the area. The owners were a real pleasure to work with, as were the property manager and staff. If you stay there, ask about having Damaris do some cooking for you - excellent local food, and she goes above and beyond to make sure things are as you might want them. Highly recommend this place!

At the risk of getting my perfect vacation getaway overbooked, I am sharing this review. Nosara is the perfect destination for the adventure traveler, and this magnificent home is the ideal spot to be in. Nestled in the jungle, you awake to the sounds of the flocks of lovebirds, howler monkies, and jungle sounds. My 6 year old found this especially enchanting, as we would spend our mornings at dawn just taking in the sounds. It's a walk away from everything you need, but on a private road to keep things quiet. The pool is wonderful, and I could have spent my entire vacation playing "marco polo" with the kids. But of course, we didn't. Surfing, waterfall climbs and ziplining were just a few of the activities we entertained. This was the perfect hub for all things Nosara. The wifi was awesome, and the house stereo was an added bonus. I would definitely hire the cook again to make some tico meals with leftovers! I must warn you however, there are a few "pet" iguanas that call the drain spouts home, so expect some company while lounging pool side. By the way, they are hams for the camera. This will be a family destination for us many times over. Highly recommended!

My family and I traveled to Nosara and stayed at Casa Feliz. in July 2011. It was a wonderful time of the year to go, low tourist season, not as hot, and a few rain showers which is always nice. The house was great. There was a abundance amount of room for all of us and after surfing, being at the beach, or other excursions we did, it was so nice to come home to the house turn the stereo system on, make some snacks and cocktails and relax while kids swam in the pool. The monkeys came while we were swimming numerous times, even some baby ones! We had an iguana visit a couple of times also! The kids and my husband took surf lessons from Nosara Tico Surf School with Luigy and Adrian. I highly recommend them as we had tons of fun with them and they were incredible with the kids. Both my kids were riding waves in and by the end of 4th lesson they were doing so good. We also did the ziplining at Miss Ski Canopy Tour which was again tons of fun with a great group of leaders, along with Nosara Boat Tours. I would highly recommend if visiting this area you would have everything plus more at Casa Feliz, plus privacy which was huge with us. Its so close to everything.. the beach, resterants, yet your not right next to another house because you have the land and privacy around the house. We ate in alot but also went out to eat at some places to watch the incredible sunset by the ocean! Although we like to travel to different places we would love to return to Costa Rica and this specific area and house if possible!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Casa Feliz. The home and grounds are meticulousy maintained. The wildlife outside your window is amazing. In addition, Guiones provides the perfect combination of activities, great food, and relaxation. The house is in a great location to take it all in. Greg and the folks he has take care of the home are great. We will definitely be back.

This is our third time staying at this house. My wife, three teenagers and I always have a great time. It feels like our home away from home. Our kids brought a couple friends this time and there was more than enough room with the new bunk bed upstairs. We saw the new alarm but only used it when we went to the volcano for a couple days. The kids like the fact that the house is somewhat secluded but they can walk to beach and all the stores/restaurants over by cafe de paris. See you next year.
Owner response:It's always great having you and the family down. I'm glad you feel comfortable in the house. I have you on the calendar for next May. Have a wonderful time in France at Christmas.

the stay at the house was fabulous and it has a great location. we departed the house early because of a night time intruder that stole valuables. owner supported our early departure and kindly refunded the rent balance. properly manager and owner were responsive and helped us continue on to enjoy the rest of our trip.
Owner response:Yes, unfortunately there was a rash of burglaries over a period of a week or so in the community. Even long term residents were not immune. The community association has beefed up security and we added a whole house monitored security system with key chain remote control. Things seem to have settled down again. UPDATE 7/9/2011: There has not been a single issue since we installed the alarm system and none of our friends in the area have reported anything. I suspect that the suspects moved on to another beach community.

Casa Feliz provides my family with such a peaceful feeling, we stay there every year and always feel at home. The kitchen has everything you're looking for from appliances down to plastic containers. The air conditioners work so well for our mid day break from the sun. Our favorite aspect of the house is the open air feeling of the living room and porch area. It makes a nice setting for afternoon cocktails. We stayed in this house before having children and then with infants and toddlers. It went with ease from a romantic spot for my husband and I to a safe haven for children. The pool is a great size, as well as the yard. The location is perfect, close to the mini super and beach, yet the street is quiet and less traveled than most others in the area. Overall, Casa Feliz provides a relaxing home base for anyones vacation adventures.

This is the third time we have rented casa feliz and they keep making it better. The owners do a great job of updating the home and adding furniture. The gardens are wonderful. Our kids love all the monkeys and iguanas on the property and we enjoy being able to walk to the beach.

The house was great, location perfect. Short walks to the beach. The monkeys were fun to watch and at times I wished that I could swing with them! :) House was big and comfy! Thank you again. See you next year!

This home was awesome! We had a great time. We could walk to the mini-super, restaurants, Guioness, etc. It was the perfect setup. The maid was super and cooked a few meals for us. We had a great time. Thanks!

This is an incredible house close to everything. We walked to the beach to surf everyday and walked to dinner every night. My kids practically lived in the pool and were awestruck by the monkeys that passed over head. The house is on a large lot and well blocked from the street. It was the perfect hideaway.
