My family just returned from a wonderful stay at this property. It is clean, roomy,well-equipped, well maintained, quiet, and has direct access to the beach. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I especially liked the large private balcony - perfect for watching the sun rise in the morning. The owner was prompt in answering all emails to make sure all our questions were answered in advance. I would highly recommend this property!

The condo, it's location and amenities were perfect. My family did not want to leave. The ocean view and beach accessability were great. We cooked in all but 2 meals and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. We could walk to almost everything we needed except a grocery store. The seafood market had a great selection and reasonable prices. Historic fort was enjoyable. We would recommend the condo to all our friends and family. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. My daughter loved the games and the boogie board. She felt like she was at home. Our only regret was that the pool was not open till May. A tide schedule would be nice and a mention to actual renters that many of the shops and restaurants near by only accept cash. We will definately be back!!

We had a wonderful stay between Christmas & New Years. The Honeycutt's were very accomodating for ouur relatively last-minute reservation. It was the perfect arrangement for our little family vacation. We enjoyed walks on the beach and around the park across the street. The condo was clean & had everything we needed, including a great view of the ocean. Hope to be back again!

As I had written in the quest book: This Condo was everything and then some. The decor and theme flowed and blended from one room to the next with taste, beauty and comfort The location was within walking distance to the store, the park, the fresh fruit and vegetable stand, Tiki Bar and Uncle Vinnie's restaurant, highly recommend them all. Beach access right out your door. The ocean view right out your living room, we spent hours on the deck watching dolphins, the sunrise, the stars, people fishing and surfing, and I am sure I entertained people watching from their own decks the waves knocking me down. The weather dictated our activities because it rained most of the 5 days we were here but we did not let that stop us from enjoying all that Carolina Beach had to offer. Went deep sea fishing, caught shark and blue-fish, than cooked them, the kitchen had everything we needed to pull off a feast of shrimp, red-skinned potatoes and "today's catch". The Honeycutts' are the epitome of "Southern Hospitality" and a true class act. Our trip was a last minute, last second excursion and they made it easy and painless to accomodate my self, my husband and 23 year old son. Appreciate their help in assisting us in making some much needed vacation memories. Patty, Kevin and Grant

What a wonderful location this property sits on. It has phenomenal views and is so accesible to any where you may need to go i.e restaurants souvenir shops the boardwalk etc, there is even a small grocery you can walk to. In all honesty if you wanted to sit at the beach and never move your vehicle you would be well entertained with what ever you elected to do. That being said Do not miss the opportunity to visit Fort Fisher, Willmington river front, The USS North Carolina and take the Ferry to Southport we also Visited Duplin Winery In Rose Hill great place for winery tour tastings and lunch (about 45 minutes away) The Condo is beautiful, well maintained and actually quiet, You will love eating out on the deck drinking in that magnificent view. We arrived 12 hours after Hurricane Irene blew through and Carolina Beach was pretty much back to normal operation. Familys flock to this beach and this being our first and hopefully not our last visit we now know why. On a final note, the owners of this Condo were a delight to work with. In a word this vacation was FABULOUS!

We loved this rental because it was in the perfect location. Just close enough for an easy walk to the "boardwalk" , Britts donuts, and the carnival but far enough away so that we enjoyed complete quiet and darkness at night. We had every meal on the balcony and the A/C washer/dryer etc. worked great. Our only constructive feedback is the kitchen is really not stocked with adequate cooking ware especially pots/pans. We like to cook fresh seafood on vacation and this didn't happen to the extent we are accustomed to. No biggie, just throw in your favorite pots/pants/knives when you are packing your car and you'll be set.
Owner response:Regarding the kitchen supplies: We have always received comments on how well stocked the kitchen is for a beach condo. We do have some space limitations due to the size of the kitchen, as condo kitchens will not have the storage space that larger single family homes will have. We have put what we feel are the most likely items to be needed and expected ( we also cook in alot and like to prepare fresh seafood esp. at the beach) and may not have every item that a particular person may like. We take an inventory at the end of each summer season and add/replace kitchen items that may have "bitten the dust" over our busy peak season May-Sept. We are also open to specific suggestions as well from our guests.

We really enjoyed our week at this condo. The location was perfect and everything was just as described. The afternoon breeze on the deck was heavenly. Clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. Carolina Beach is now our new favorite beach. Britt's Donuts are a must (only a few blocks walk on the street or up the beach to the boardwalk). We like mom and pop type places to eat. We enjoyed the Gulfstream Restaurant, The Old Pier House (Kure Beach), and Frank's Pizza. If you ride over to Southport on the ferry, be sure to try Yacht Basin Provision Co. Just a shack on the water way and dining is outdoors, but the steamed shrimp was great. We'll be sure to recommend this condo and CB to our friends who think the only beach anyone goes to is Myrtle.

We had a wonderful stay at this property and can't say enough about the comforts of home. The property was spotless. The location was perfect and the view outstanding. Thanks for the notebook with the restaurant menus and hints. We tried many of your suggestions. We would recommend your property to anyone and hope we can visit again in the future, along with our children and grandchild.

We stayed for a quick weekend away and really enjoyed the home. It was nicely decorated and maintained (new appliances, etc) even though the building itself is older. The small pool was also nice and clean. Great location on the beach and walking distance to the park!
Owner response:As all oceanfront condominiums are in Carolina Beach, our building is over 20 years old. It is well maintained, with a complete paint job three years ago and spot painting every spring. There are newer condos available in the area, but are located inland. There are also newer oceanfront structures available, but they are much larger single family homes or multiplexes which are considerably more expensive than our property. Our pool also just had a completely new tile job this year. Overall, we feel that our condo offers among the best accomodations available in Carolina Beach at a reasonable price, offering exceptional value.

Your condo was a wonderful escape for the weekend. It is comfortable and well appointed. The location is fantastic! Our teenagers loved that they could walk to Brit's donuts each day. The shipwreck was also a highlight. Thank you for sharing your beach retreat with us! We hope to visit again soon since there is so much to do both at the beach and in Wilmington.

We had a fabulous time at the Carolina Beach condo...it lived up to the description on line and was a great location. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner for a total of 15 family members that came to CB from as far away as Pittsburgh...and we fit beautifully with the deck and open living cooking set up. Enjoyed seeing dolphins every morning while sipping coffee on the deck. Loved the Christmas light up on the lake and breakfast at the Surf House(...to die for hot chocolate!) and Havanas for dinner.Would come back :-)

We normally rent through VRBO and stayed here for a few days in mid September 2010 and had a great time. I would certainly recommend this unit and owner. The owner uses a local real estate company to handle check-in/check-out of the unit and we didn't have an issue with our after hours arrival. This clean unit matched the description and photos in the VRBO listing. The public areas of the entire building were also very clean and are being maintained by a retired, on-site owner that we enjoyed meeting and getting some "local" knowledge. The kitchen was very well equipped and all items in the unit were in good working order. We enjoyed our time on the spacious outdoor balcony with its fantastic view of the ocean view of the ocean. The unit has easy access to the beach from the building's own lockable walkway with an outdoor shower/rinse off area. We also made use of the unit's high speed wireless internet access and it supports secure VPN connectivity. NOTE: There is reserved parking for two cars per unit underneath the building. If you drive a high top conversion van, you may want to check to see if it would fit. When you are here at Carolina Beach (aka Pleasure Island) be sure to visit Britt's Doughnuts, the nearby aquarium at Ft. Fisher and the Wilmington waterfront district.

The two day drive here was worth it! Everything was as stated in the unit. Well maintained, updated appliances, nicely decorated and quiet. Our 2 children, ages 6 & 11 were quite comfortable in the guest bedroom. My husband and I were also comfortable. The beach was fabulous! Loved that the Lifeguard chair was so close to our beach access. We love the USS North Carolina Battleship and the Aquarium. The Shuck N Shack was great for Fresh seafood and we couldn't get enough of Britt's donuts! Overall, we could not have asked for a more positive, fun, family, first trip to the ocean.

What a beautiful condo you have! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your beachfront home. This was our first time to the coast, and we cannot wait to go back. If you are looking to getaway and relax, Carolina Beach is exactly what you are looking for. Your condo provided direct access to the beautiful, uncrowded beach, which we enjoyed every day of our stay. We couldn't wait to see the shipwreck at low tide so we could swim out to it. Loved that we could just walk down the beach to the boardwalk or to the Tiki Bar (great food and service). Fireworks on Thursday night were beautiful. We highly recommend Michael's Seafood Restaurant. EXCELLENT chowder. We would also recommend taking the ferrys across to Bald Head Island. Our kids enjoyed the GPS Scavenger hunt by golf cart that the rental place offered. We will definitely recommend your rental to our friends and family. We look forward to returning to Caroline Beach in the near future. Thank you again.

Our family of 5 stayed at this unit for the last weekend of April '10 and had a great time. The location to the beach was perfect and we truly enjoyed the spacious outdoor balcony with a fantastic view of the oceanfront. Getting back and forth to the beach with the little ones was also a breeze and very convenient. The unit was clean when we arrived and met our expectations based on the description and photos in the ad. The kitchen was very well equipped and all items in the unit were in good working order as described. We were happy with the price of the rental and the owner was easily available by phone whenever we had questions regarding the rental. It was a very good experience and a great decision to rent this unit instead of using a nearby hotel. I would certainly recommend this unit and owner.

We had mostly beautiful weather - the sunrises were glorious! We couldn't wait to get up in the mornings just sit on the balcony or walk on the beach. Loved being brainless for a week. This was our first time in CB. We have been to Emerald Isle a few times and the Outer Banks, but the beach here has the softest and smoothest sand. We did find time to go into Wilmington and down to Myrtle Beach, but did not want to lose much time on the beach. The condo had everything we needed. We ate breakfast and lunches in and then went out every night for dinner. We love the high rise chairs on the balcony. We will be back!

This was our first time in CB, and we had plenty to keep us busy. Our daughter does not have much stamina on the beach, so it was great being so close. The pool was also perfect for her as well. We did alot of exploring as well as went into Wilmington and Myrtle Beach for a day each. The condo is very nice - the best stocked place we have rented. I must have put the puzzles together with my daughter 1000 times. All in all a good experience, and we certainly would rent here again.

What a fantastic week we have spent here at the condo! It was perfect for our family of four. We really apprciated the well appointed kitchen and comfortable furnishings. It really made this place feel like home. Our five and eight year olds liked having a TV in their room, while we enjoyed the sound of the waves and enjoyed a cocktail on the balcony. Thanks for the wonderfiul place to stay.

This was our first trip to CB. My daughters are big "One Tree Hill" fans and we happened upon the filming one afternoon in Wilmington. That was a big highlight! Your home is very comfy and decorated beautifully. The beach is nice and the view from your balcony was great. It was particularly interesting to have history - the Gen. Beauregard (shipwreck) right in the backyard. The notebook you provided was very helpful for those of us not in the know - we love the area and hope to come back in the future!

The purpose of our vacation was twofold: commune with the beach and attend the ACC Soccer Championship in Cary (Go Terps!). Rather than being beach bums, we are ocean observers: the pelicans, the tides, the fishermen, the stunning full moon, the dolphins...and the Beauregard (shipwreck) revealing itself twice a day! The balcony provided a great vantage point for our observations, and the comfort of the entire condo was superb. We hope to return for more ocean and more tournaments. Thanks for your hospitality - you were a noticeable presence!

This was our first stay in CB after many times in Kure Beach. The condo is lovely; the balcony is a special treat. Several nights we were able to keep the doors open and listen to the ocean in the living room. We had fun keeping track of the tides so we could see the Beauregard shipwreck. The kitchen is so complete for all types of cooking - we contributed a non stick skillet. Thank you for a great place to build new memories together.
