THE HOUSE
The home itself is a stunning home offering a luxurious, romantic sojourn for 2 or complete comfort for 8 vacationers. The soothing shoreline colors of the Great Room set the tone for your stay by the beach. The spaciousness is warmed by the stone fireplace and wood stove, nestled close to an ample supply of wood. The two 8 foot wrap-around couches accomodate everyone for the 55' flat screenTV with Boze speaker,. DVDs, conversation or quiet evenings of music from the library of CDs and reading. The expansive maple flooring creates easy flow and pristine luxury. The children's closet supplies games for all ages and toys for little ones. The floor to ceiling 30 foot window wall keeps the Bay just a glance away, always revealing a new marine treasure.
Separated by a farmhouse table as well as bar seating for four, the well-stocked kitchen easily handles gourmet meals. You'll find staples, spices, all paper supplies and colorful Fiestaware. The pantry houses cookware and serving pieces to inspire and simplify every meal. The chef can enjoy the ever-changing water view along with the grill master on the deck.
The calming colors of the master bedroom/bath with a fireplace and flat screen TV suggest privacy and comfort. Luxury Egyptian cotton (800thread count) linens enhance the master (king) as well as the second bedroom (queen) with its full bath across the hall.
The wirelss equipped office and a 2nd TV room with two large sofas (and room for our queen blowup bed) lead to the 3rd bath. The 2nd floor bedroom sports bright beach colors and theme, two full sized beds and the childrens library. All decor gently alludes to life by the sea.
THE SETTING
The sweeping deck on the water side of "Mutiny Tides" offers lounges and the utlimate al fresco dining. Morning coffee partners with fog lifting, gradually revealing early fishing boats. The view is framed by a well-established perennial garden and lawn groomed for crochet and bocce ball. The firepit by the beach, ready for driftwood, offers a breathtaking starry view of the bay and the night lights from afar. The beach boasts endless miles for walking, running, or beachcombing the treasures left in tidepools and on sandy shores. Night time exploring with flashlights for sea creatures coming alive is an exciting event.
Abundant marine and wildlife will entertain you through the window wall, on the deck or as you relax on the beach. Discover fishing boats, cargo ships, and evening cruise ships framed by sunsets that lure even long time Mutiny Bay homeowners outside with their cameras. Common wildlife of Bald Eagles, seagulls, orcas, sea otters and seals, rabbits, deer and owls co-exist here. After just one day, the curiously hypnotic feeling of ownership will change ones perspective.
THE ISLAND
Explore the charming towns of Langely and Coupeville, reminiscent of old coastal towns the world over. Enjoy Freeland's small town comfort, the island's myriad shorelines, sustainable island farms and markets and wineries. Enjoy the enticing variety of biking or hiking opportunities, from The Earth Sanctuary to old growth forests. Meander Fort Casey and learn how it protected the entrance to Puget sound in the 1800's. Take a short ferry ride to the famous old town of Port Townsend and Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Penisula. And then come back home to "Mutiny Tides", a glass of wine and another beautiful sunset.
Even the off-season offers astonishingly sunny days that compete with entertaining winter storms. Relax, sunbathe, comb the beach..a stay at Mutiny tides will become a treasured addition to your own story.
Also available to renters of Mutiny Tides for a week or more is a cozy and cute cottage (additional charge). The cottage has a partial but unstocked kitchen, 2/3 bath, woodburning stove, and double sleeper sofa. Children and teens love their own space.
There is plenty of parking and a boat ramp just down the street.
We invite you to spend a long weekend or vacation at our Mutiny Bay Home. Linens, paper products, spices, hairdryers, soaps and shampoo are all provided. All you need is your beach towel.
We take great pride in our many returning guests and we welcome new found travelers.
A $500.00 (returnable) damage deposit secures your reservation. There is a non-refundable dog deposit of $250.00 for one PRE-APPROVED dog. Prices are subject to change until deposit and contract are signed. We accept credit card with an additional 3.5%.

Why the Owner Chose Mutiny Bay
Having lived in Washington State all our lives and spending summer vacations on Whidbey Island and the San Juan Islands, we knew we wanted a place there to retire someday. Our first cabin on Whidbey didn't offer enough room for our needs in retirement.

The peacefulness, the ever-changing sunsets and Olympic Mts, the fabulous sandy beach, the bay activity and the wild life. The quiet "country feel" and slower pace of the island. The fact that we can have sunshine when the rest of Seattle is raining.

We've raised 5 children and hope to retire to where we have our childhood memories of Whidbey Island. We both spent many vacations here before we even knew each other. We love the quiet and the wonderful climate, and all that there is to do here. We also love how convenient it is to Seattle when we want to be in town. Our grandkids love coming to the Island. The climate is always better than Seattle because we are in "the Banana belt". We found our home 13 years ago and knew this is the property and view where we want to spend the rest of our lives at. Until we retire, we will enjoy sharing it with you as our guests.

The house and property could not have been more beautiful. The owners were wonderful to work with and the whole experience was great. My family, adults and children- had a wonderful vacation there. The children want to decorate their bedrooms just like the kids' room at the house. The kitchen had every convenience.

This was an excellent rental house for the cliff views of Mutiny Bay, watching Puget Sound boat traffic, and the Olympic Mountains on clear days. I think we saw some sea otters. The house accommodations were great with oversized rooms and beautiful local paintings. We had a grand time on this second visit to the house either relaxing inside or going sight seeing along the island and nearby Olympic Mountain’s Hurricane Ridge. I did try a little late season salmon beach fishing which is my favorite pastime. Kevin H.

We just stayed at this awesome property and cannot say enough good things about it. First off, the owner is a pleasure to work with. She is very responsive and attentive in the whole setup process. The house itself is incredibly comfortable. We went with four adults and four children and there was ample room for sleeping and spreading out. The great room has an awesome fireplace with a wood burning stove and it was quite cozy at night to have a fire going. By day, the access to the beach and sprawling lawns are incredible fun for the kids. The house is fully stocked--toys for kids, a chef's kitchen with nearly everything you could imagine needing to cook real means (we even baked and had everything we needed right there). Plenty of plates and tablewear and serving pieces to really feel at home. I'm sure we will be heading back!

We just returned from an amazing time at Mutiny Bay. This gorgeous home has all the amenities you'd ever want, plus some! We loved relaxing on the deck in the early evening with a glass of wine watching cruise ships pass by... early morning beach-walks... lunch beside the glorious flower gardens... and evening bonfires. We just got home from a 10 day stay at Mutiny Tides and my entire family is sad we had to come home. We had more than a vacation at this beautiful house -- it was a welcome retreat from the crazy suburban lifestyle we lead. The house is picture perfect, exceptionally clean, exceptionally well-appointed, thoughtful in every regard. The setting is as beautiful as I've ever seen -- gorgeous Olympic mountains to the southwest, Cascades to the southeast (plenty of opportunity to see the famous Baker and Rainier Mountains) bald eagles flying overhead, loads of deer and rabbits and sea creatures of all kinds. Clamming at low tide with the kids was a highlight, as was relaxing and swimming every day at the private beach. We made great use of the firepit by night for s'mores and conversation. If you are considering a beach vacation, this is the place to go!

We have no rreturned from a truly wonderful week at your gorgeous home. We could not have been happier with the week. We loved Whidbey Island - the first time we've really explored it despite being in Seattle 30 plus years. We think you have the best spot, if not the very best home, on Whidbey. Mutiny Bay was so beautiful. We even got to see the owls one night (two of them) calling to each other as we sat on the deck. What a wonderful place th share the holidays with family. Your home is large and yet was so cozy around the warm rock fireplace. We will never forget this Christmas. We have loved watching the winters storms. Thankyou and we hope to return again.

We have had the opportunity to stay at this beach house several times. We go back because we love to be there. We can totally relax when we're there or we can have the children and grand children come and enjoy great "family" time. There is plenty of room/beds for all of us. There are so many different things to do for adults and children. Walk on the beach and search for "treasures." Enjoy the wild life. Relax on the deck while enjoying the incredible views of the water and mountains. Or,if its cold outside, stay inside the beautiful great room, start a fire, watch a movie, play games, or read (movies, games & books are provided). And you still have the great view! The beach house is so well stocked with everything you might want or need. Just bring your clothes, relax, and have a great time! We always do!! Comment Text: Comment Text: My husband and I have enjoyed several relaxing stays at Mutiny Tides and we look forward to returning. The privacy is wonderful, the view and beach always rejuvenates us and the home is so comfortable and offers absolutely everything we could want. The cleanliness is beyond reproach. The best vacations we've had have been at Mutiny Tides. Last time, in the off-season, we took our children and grandchildren and it was a fantastic time for all of us. The spacious family room allowed us all to be together while enjoying different activities. Yet the bedrooms and baths offered plenty of privacy and comfort for all of us. My grandchildren loved the children's room and the closet of toys. The beach lured us all, night and day. We still talk about watching the cruise ships in the evening. Now, they all want to go back this summer. What a fabulous and completely comfortable and clean home. We always want to go out for dinner but we can never drag ourselves from the house because of the view and the kitchen amenities!
