Your cabin on the lake made our stay a memorable one! All the amenities were in place even before we thought about needing them. So many wonderful spots to relax and unwind here- so much charm and character.

Awesome, inviting, peaceful, amazing ,perfect and more. A weekend is too short to enjoy everything that your home and Keuka Lake has to offer. We would love to come back and spend more time.

Thank you for a wonderful week-we enjoyed your cabin so much. Very relaxing--just what we needed. The kitchen was so well stoked - didn't want for anything. Stumbled on the Garret Chapel on Skyline Dr.-what a great find.

Our first time on Keuka Lake and your lovely log cabin made our stay just perfect. Our children had fun around the campfire making s'mores and telling stories. My husband's parents stayed in the guesthouse and loved the sound of the lake as they slept. Thank you so much. We will be returning next year.

What a fabulous log cabin and spot on Keuka Lake! You have thought of everything--beautiful, comfortable furniture and beds, kitchen so well stocked. The glider on the end of the dock was a great touch. Can't wait to return.

July 2010 Stay

Guest: July 2010 Renter (Jacksonville, FL)
Date of Stay: 07/24/10 Review Submitted: 08/01/10

Having found the property on a rental by owner site I was disappointed in having to work through a rental management company that tried to add several hundred dollars in additional fees. Upon arrival the property was very nice however the housekeeping was unacceptable, hair in the shower from the prior renters, soap scum in another shower and dirt on the floor was noticeable throughout the cottage. The owner of the cottage told me prior to my reservation that there was a Sheriff's Camp for underprivileged children next to the property but that they were usually pretty quiet. The truth is there were over 100 kids that started jumping in the water before 6AM on most days with the associated screaming and yelling and the basketball court and homemade slip and slide that was filled most of the day is located directly across the street from the property and was in use every night until 10PM. The owner made arrangements with us for the prior renters to pick up items they had left behind the prior week. When we left the items on the front porch the prior renters picked them up and proceeded to walk to the back of the property to make themselves comfortable and presumably enjoy the view. The next day, a neighbor knocked on the door and told us the owner of the cottage gave her permission to come on the property to pick mint from her garden. At this point I was wondering who else was coming over for dinner, to borrow the airplane, etc. At this point the beauty of the property was overtaken by build up of annoying interruptions and we left the cottage a day early wanting to spend a night in a Hilton Garden Inn over this cottage. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation reserve the property when the Sheriff's Camp is not in session. I would also ask if there is a new housekeeper on site so you don't have to spend the first two hours of your vacation cleaning the cottage.

Owner response:We use a local management company to handle the contract and the property for quick response and follow-up. We do not live in the area. We provided the feedback on the condition of the property to our cleaners to insure the highest quality experience for our guests. The sounds of children playing, laughing and enjoying the lake has not been an issue in the past. If it is a concern, than we recommend, staying in June, August or September.
