Paris Arrondissement 5 studio description

LOCATION is VACATION!
Contrary to their claim of being in the true center of Paris, most Hotels and apartments are not. Apply the 1-minute-rule, ask are any studio you want less than 1-minute-walk from the river? Your studio is less than a minute walk, steps from the river in the historic heart-of-the-heart of Paris. Arguably the most lovely location in Paris, because a walk at midnight over the magic bridges will allow you to soak the wonders of Paris then walk safely home, after dark among all the tourists in the brightly lit streets lined with cafe, and restaurants opened late.

HIDDEN SAVINGS:
You will also save money. First by walking everywhere and avoid taxis and / or public transportation. Secondly, you will save money on food, the apartment is near a fantastic SUPER Gourmet Stores and famous fresh market “Marche Maubert” known to Parisians mainly, which offers the most delicious fresh and cooked food, cheese, bread and finest wines.

LE STUDIO LOFT LA TRAVIATA
is most in demand with three large windows looking on a quiet courtyard; a decorative fireplace surrounded by wall-to-ceiling mirrors. The master king-size bed (from German designer Cap-A- Suivre) is straight out of Act III of that opera, an amazingly treat! There is also a mezzanine with a full size bed. The space is open. The kitchen is equipped with 4 cooking plates, a fridge, cooking ustencils, microwave, a coffee maker. There is a bathtub in the bathroom. For those who want to experience romantic Bohemian Paris, La Traviata is a dream comes true!

LE METRO
1 minute walk from Metro St Michel and 2 minutes walk for RER B direct line to CDG airport.

HIGH BANDWIDTH WIFI to your laptop + FREE international calling to dozen of countries including free long distance to USA Canada Australia Europe and China!

My wife and 2 children really enjoyed our stay at the Paris Studio Apts. The apt is located less than a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, river seine and surrounded by plenty of cafes and shops. The apt was very clean comfortable and the directions sent to access the apt were very thorough. We had a great time and look forward to another stay.

Owner is very pleasant to deal with, sent us lots of information (without asking) on how to get there and Paris in general as well as where to shop for food. We had no hassle getting there and getting inside with small children and a bit of luggage (note: those not strong with heavy luggage may need assistance). Arrive at the local RER train station, up the lift, 100m down the lane way, turn left, 30m on left you are there 100% as discribed. Apartment is as owner discribed, yes its Paris and its not big, but nothing is especially in the centre of Paris. The street out the front has a fantasic atmosphere and you see lots of people (tourists) taking photos and smiling. VERY SAFE LOCATION. Name your food and there is a local restaurant to serve you. WIFI, normally no need to comment, but after 3 weeks of travelling around Europe and staying at nearly 10 places hotels and apartments this was the only place it really just worked and fast. TV channels were abudent and kept kids happy. Apartment also has heaps of travel information for France and Paris such as Lonely Planet Apartment is well fitted out and warm. Note: the owner recommended not to use Paris Metro which has a reputation for pick pockets etc (different to Paris RER). However, having read up on the Metro on the do's and don'ts on a number of websites and using common sense, we had no issue and found it extremely convient to move around in the cool weather when walking was too far or time consuming. Regards Shane (Australian)

LOVED IT. My wife and two kids (8&5) stayed at La Traviata for a week in August and had a fantastic time. The location is spectacular - literally steps from Notre Dame and the Seine one way and a block and a half from Boulevard St. Germain the other. It's next door to a church built in the 13th century and two minutes from St. Michel Metro station. There are plenty of places to get the rental bikes for taking around the town, and I can't tell you how incredible it is to be able to take a morning jog along the Seine down to the Louvre and through Jardin des Tuilieres. It's located on a street that is quite touristy, however, inside the studio we never found it noisy or intrusive. In some ways, it was reassuring to have people around since we'd often be getting back late at night from wandering around Paris. The dining choices immediately surrounding the studio are definitely touristy, but if you venture out a couple blocks, you'll find more than enough places to eat to satisfy the pickiest palate. That said, it is really great to be able to have your own coffee in the mornings and not have to eat out for every meal. The Monoprix is a fantastic, comprehensive market where you can get anything you need (especially inexpensive wine!), and we found a little farmers market nearby on St. Germain for super fresh fruits, veggies, bread and cheese. We loved that it gives you a taste of what it might be like to live in Paris. Claude, Violande and Shen were very prompt and thorough with communications. They also give a long list of places to visit and things you might want to see (and areas to stay away from) which is very helpful. A couple caveats: - It's not a hotel. You have to take the stairs and buy soap if you run out. It's clean and well maintained, but definitely shows some of it's 400 years. If you're looking for turn down service this is not the place for you. If you like living in a real, historic, Parisian apartment, this is the spot. - It's small. Don't know if it would be big enough for four large adults, but it was perfect for our family of four. - The shower is unusual. We love that aspect about it. Would absolutely recommend to friends and relatives, although I'm a little hesitant, cause I don't want it to be booked when we come back! Thanks Claude, Violande and Shen for a wonderful time. Next time we'll have to hit up that restaurant you recommended. Hope to see you again soon! -- Chris & family

Location, Location, Location! added to unique studio in an older building was a great choice for our family group of 5. Clean and well maintained, but not large. It was very hot in Paris, but the apartment was comfortable and exactly as portrayed, metro stops and many cafes and nightlife just outside. Double bed in loft with few steps down to the bathroom, not recommended for people who can't do stairs. Claude very helpful and precise in check in instruction. Would recommend this to friends.

My husband and 19 year old son stayed here and loved the location. Staying so close to many attractions was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed the many restaurants and the quaint little streets. It is so close to the subways and the stops for the Yellow Line and Red line busses. There are bicycles outside of the apartment to rent if you choose. We walked to the Eiffel Tower (1 hour) along the Seine River with so many beautiful sights and it was one of our favorite times. The arrangements for entry into the apartment was seamless and the owners answered e-mails very quickly with great details. This is not a large apartment but has very high ceilings and was very clean and cheerful. I am not sure that I would like to sleep 5 in this room though. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

The Studio is so well located it was very easy to merge into Paris life. The information forwarded by the property owners was very useful, providing tips about the neighborhood and Paris restaurants and other attractions. I very much appreciated the recommendation for Gerard Mullot - the pastry is incredible and the shop is clearly a local favorite. The woman in line ahead of me with her daughter (I'm assuming) was evidently going to be entertaining: she must have bought several hundred euros worth of pastries. In looking for a restaurant recommended by a previous Studio guest I found it has been replaced by a superb restaurant: Les Trois Font La Paire, 26 Boulevard Saint-Germain. It can be found online by its name for those who wish additional information. I strongly encourage reservations for evening as they are likely to be full for any walk-ins. The dinner prix fixe was either 30 or 35 euros. I had the Tartare de boeuf which incorporated grated truffle - it was rich and delicious. It was served with what I think were potatoes that were formed into triangles and then lightly fried. The insides of each piece tasted like potatoes whipped with cream, so a crisp crust was filled with a mixture that melted on the tongue. The final accompaniment was a delicious watercress salad. The wine selection was also excellent. My next trip to Paris will certainly include another visit to this fine restaurant.

We just returned from an incredible 12 day cruise, ending with a week in Paris at La Traviata in early July 2011. What a lovely stay it was! The location is absolutely incredible. Steps (and I mean STEPS) from great boite's, cafe's, restaurants, ATM's, Monoprix and most of all St Michel metro stop. My husband and 2 teenage kids stayed here for a week and we would do it again in a second. Just charming! (and don't forget the Shakespeare Bookstore about a block and a half away on the Seine!)

My wife and adult daughter stayed at the La Traviata studio apt. for five days in May 2011 and loved it. The key was the location, everything is as depicted in the descriptions and photos, no surprises. The bathroom situation is a little different but manageable among friends or family members. All you need is a towel for privacy on the railing and you are without any embarassment. Claude and Violaine are wonderful hosts and help you with everything prior to your arrival. Convienent to the metro , cafes, groceries etc. You really do feel like a local due to the location. The optional shuttle service that Violaine can arrange is worth it and very prompt for any new commers or to make sure you get to the airport on time. The apt is clean and has the basics that you need to feel like you live there all the time. Not suted to anyone with trouble walking up & down stairs. Claude's direction's for everything are perfect.
