Welcome to the old Big Sky Firehouse. Located in The Meadows of Big Sky Montana, the character of this property is enhanced because a portion of it was once the Big Sky fire station. Of course the fire poles and trucks are gone, but the history of this property adds to it's charm. The property was moved and remodeled and a new addition was built to transform the 3,200 square foot home into the perfect lodging destination for your Big Sky vacation.
The first floor great room has a cathedral ceiling with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. The room surrounds you with windows and mountain views. Don't be surprised if you wake up to a moose at your door in the morning. There are plenty of moose sightings. A large kitchen with a breakfast bar, dining room, a laundry, three bedrooms with queen beds and two full baths complete the the first floor. Climb the log steps to the loft where you will find a very large bedroom with four single beds, a pull out futon couch, a full bath and several areas for lounging around, playing board games or watching Direct TV. The downstairs includes two more bedrooms, both with bunk beds and another full bath. The covered patio off the great room includes a fabulous hot tub for working out the muscle pain of skiing or sore shoulders from a long day of fly fishing.
The property is conveniently located within minutes of two major ski areas, Big Sky and Moonlight Basin. Fly fishing on pristine blue ribbon rivers like the Gallatin and Madison are nearby. Farther away (2+ hours) are the Henry's Fork, Beaverhead, Big Hole and the Yellowstone. Shopping, restaurants and bars are located within the village and are a short walk away. There are hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain bike trails in the area. The west gate to Yellowstone National Park is less than an hour away and of course the City of Bozeman is within an hour drive as well.
We would love to have you stay at The Firehouse. Make your reservation today.

The Big Sky Firehouse - Spacious Living for up to 16 Guests
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Meadow Village
I originally wanted a ski in ski out, but with four kids, went meant 8 kids came everytime we went, we needed something larger. There just isn't that much on the mountain in this price range where you can get up to 15-18 people sleeping. It is a short walk away from the store where kids can get ice cream or something that dad forgot. The shuttle picks up and drops off there, also. There are numerous restaurants and bars across the street. Nice breakfast bakery as well. DVD rental, thai and sushi, too. They are building a cinema slated to open ski season 2011-12 w/i walking distance.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We are very close to the Big Sky Town Centre. A collection of shops and restaurants about 200 yards away across the street. A free shuttle also takes skiers up the hill to the Mountain Village. Right across the street from the 16th hole on the golf course means nice place for early jogging and its a cross country ski area in the winter. The skiing at Big Sky is impressive. It has the steeps of Jackson, Snowbird and Mammoth. The groomers and plenty of blue like Park City or Deer Valley, The largeness @3800 acres compares nicely to places like Squaw @4000 ac, Mammoth @3500 ac and The Canyons @3700. Only Vail and Squaw have more acreage in America. But Big Sky has the second most verticle in America. At 4366, it comes in second only to Snowmass at 4406
Restaurants, Sporting Goods, Bars, Shopping, The Hungry Moose deli. Shuttle drop off and pick up. 300 yard walk
Arnold Palmer Design championship 18 hole layout with very nice practice facility…driving range, two putting greens, chipping and sand trap green
Original ranch now offering hiking, fishing, XC skiing, horseback riding tours as well as their famous winter Sleigh Ride Dinners. http://www.lonemountainranch.com/
Big Sky ski mountain base. Complete with restaurants, bars, shopping, lodging, ski and outdoor shops, first aid, ski patrol, ski school and child care, etc. Summer zip line, ropes course, bike rentals
Alternate ski resort very close to Big Sky. A few more miles up the road from the Big Ki Mountain Village turn off
Owner's Map of Meadow Village
My family and I love to ski at Big Sky. I have skiid all over, cutting my teeth on Mammoth when it only had 9 chairs (and chair #2 would sometime be a 90 minute wait,) to Vail, Aspen, Tahoe, Targhee, Jackson, Alta, Park City and Snowmass. There is nothing that combines the terrain and lack of crowds that Big Sky has to offer. It was always a dream to purchase a ski house somewhere. We live in Missoula, a 3.5 hour drive away and fell in love with this mountain. We also love the summer fun here in Big Sky from whitewater rafting, fly fishing, mountain biking and golf.

We had a pretty large group of 18 adults and kiddos and fit in the house perfectly! The house had amazing location I had a vision of it being in the middle of nowhere but it was right across from the nightly concert, the Hungry Moose natural grocery store, delicious restaurants (Lotus Pad was amazing), and several stores. It was about a 10 minute drive to go to Big Sky Resort for paddle-boating, bungee-trampolines, and many more things to do. The family went into Yellowstone 1 day but there was so much to do in Big Sky and Bozeman we only made one trip. Everyone loved the hot tub and it got a lot of use, a park down the way a bit for the kids to play. It was a great trip and accommodated our family so well! A great experience for our first vrbo.com rental!

Just finished up an annual ski trip with 7 other buddies. The Firehouse was perfect for our needs. Plenty of beds to choose from (no one had to sleep on a couch this year) and a large common area to hang out and catch up. We could have easily had 6 more friends join us. Within walking distance to a couple of great bars and restaurants and only a short drive to the mountain. Look forward to renting this house again the next time we ski Big Sky.
Owner response:Its easy to see why renters come back to stay with us year after year. It fits large parties well.

We were exceptionally pleased with the Firehouse. Everyone who stayed with us remarked on the beautifully furnished house and all the great amenities it offered! It truly is within walking distance to restaurants, grocery store and more. This is a house that any of us would love to call our own - it has a great floor plan and accomodates guests with children and those just wanting some privacy within the home. If we are ever that direction again, we would definitely want to stay there!

What an abode! As we walked we all felt like celebs! We are a brotherhood of skiers who get together annually & ski different areas of the country & abroad. This was by far the best lodging experience we ever had. After a long day on trails at Moonlight Basin & Big Sky, the lodging at The Firehouse was soothing to both mind & body especially, with sight of the hot tub. This beautiful house is very spacious, relaxing, comfortable & modern. The inner beauty within those walls was something to behold, the house had everything to make our vacation very pleasant & enjoyable. The access to the mountains was very easy by car or shuttle. Across the street on the main road visit the strip mall & restaurants, the people are very warm, friendly & helpful. See Mitch & the gang at Grizzly Outfitters for any ski/snowboard equipment problem. The skiing at both mountains are world class. I will try to get back here in the near future & hopefully stay at The Firehouse!

Although we live in Montana, this was our first extended ski trip to Big Sky. We were joined by my sister & family from Rhode Island. We very much enjoyed our Christmas at The Firehouse. In particular, the well equipped kitchen, lovely ambiance of the gathering room, large dining room table, abundant seating in front of the fireplace, quiet, comfortable bedrooms, the kids' loft space complete with Wii, the beautiful hot tub, the large garage & mudroom for all the ski gear, the short drive(or shuttle) to the mountain. In short, this was a vacation that our kids will remember for a long time. One that we hope to repeat in the near future. Thanks for sharing your lovely Big Sky vacation home!

This is our 3rd trip to the Firehouse and every time we've left with special memories. We love staying in the Meadow Village where it convenient to walk to Town Center and yet still see a moose or an Elk. Getting up to the ski area is just a 10 minute drive. The accommodations are great for families and groups and the Firehouse is well maintained with an excellent team that responds quickly to any needs. We have consistently gotten what we would expect for the price and look forward to returning.
