Podere Le Querce - "the Oak Trees" - is a traditional Umbrian farmhouse situated 1.5km outside the unspoilt medieval town of Città della Pieve on the borders of Umbria and Tuscany in central Italy. The town can be reached on foot in 20 minutes or by car in 5 minutes.
Le Querce stands at the end of a country lane and is surrounded by wooded hills, terraced olive groves and vineyards, and enjoys panoramic views to Lake Trasimeno and the Tuscan hills behind Cortona, and to Monte Subasio beyond Perugia, the principal city of Umbria. The property stands in 9 acres of private land, partly wooded and planted with olive trees with delightful gardens surrounding the house.
The carefully and lovingly restored house has two self-contained private apartments, each sleeping 2. The apartments may be rented separately or together for a group of 4 people. Each apartment has one bedroom, living room, and shower room as well as a private furnished terrace for al fresco meals and area of garden. A spectacular lap pool (15 meters by 3.5 meters) is located a little way beyond the house in a marvellously tranquil position and is bordered along one side by olive trees and a large fig tree; on the other side is a wide terrace paved in terra-cotta with sunbeds and deck chairs and a hammock hangs from an old olive tree for a shady siesta.
The apartments are ideal as a base for exploring many of the wonderful historic and artistic towns of this fascinating area of central Italy, whether you have cultural, historical, or gastronomic interests, or, indeed, all three! The tranquil setting and wonderful views, together with very comfortable and well equipped accommodation, combine to make this a perfect choice at any time of the year.
The English owner lives in part of the house and will help with advice and information on the area in order to make the most of your vacation.
