This is the perfect spot to house and host your out-of-town guests for weddings, milestone birthday celebrations, anniversary gatherings, and graduations. Many have utilized the house in this way over the past, and have found it to work really well. It is central, is in an area of superb amenities, has a huge private, walled patio deck, and is equipped with all the dishes and kitchen supplies you could ever need, including a stock of food basics.

This is a full, 3-bedroom house in a residential neighbourhood in the downtown core of the city of Halifax. Live like a Haligonian, and walk to the huge grocery and liquor stores one street over, have morning coffee either in the coffee shop on the corner or on your own huge patio deck, cook dinner on the barbecue, or head around the corner to one of the myriad of restaurants in the area, or trundle downtown - a 10-minute walk - to Spring Garden Road or the Waterfront for dinner and drinks, and listen to live music any night of the week. Musically, Halifax has been called the ‘Seattle of the East’. And did you know that Halifax has more drinking establishments, and churches, per-capita than any city in Canada?
All of our guests have loved the house - the privacy, the central location, the gorgeous, hand-made beds, the sumptuous linens and duvets, the books and CD's, the highspeed internet, and being close to everything.
Beautiful home in the heart of Halifax, your home away from home. Ideal for a family of six or eight (with two on new queen-size sofa bed in living-room), for three or four couples, visiting academics, corporate travelers, conference attendees or those working in Halifax on a short-term basis. Equipped with high-speed internet with both wired and wireless connectivity, you will be able to work from your new home, if so desired. We have just installed a new, excellent-quality sound system, and purchased a new flat-screen TV and DVD player, as well.
The two-story, three-bedroom, smoke-free house is modern, and has lovely oak floors and scattered Persian rugs throughout. It is light and airy, has generous size rooms, and a huge, private patio complete with patio furniture, gas barbecue, and patio lanterns.
The main floor has a large open-plan living and dining room, and separate kitchen with door opening onto the patio. Upstairs are three bedrooms: one with a king-size bed, and the second and third bedrooms with queen-size beds. All rooms equipped with bedside tables, lamps, chests of drawers, closets, bookshelves and books - very comfortable.
The bathroom has a bathtub and powerful shower, and the vanity is large enough to hold all the toiletries for six to eight people.
The house is on a quiet, residential street of Victorian homes in one of the nicest parts of the city. In less than a minute you can walk to a huge grocery store, liquor store, drugstore, banks, and a movie theatre, or you can go for a run or leisurely stroll on the Halifax Common – a huge, open green area in the centre of the city.
In just ten minutes you can walk to the universities, or downtown to Spring Garden Road - the busiest street east of Montreal, lined with trendy bars, restaurants and shops, stroll in the Public Gardens, and in five additional minutes you can smell the salt air of the ocean as you head for the boardwalk along Halifax’s waterfront, again populated with fabulous restaurants and bars where you can hear live music any night of the week.
Stop by the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to see the deckchair from the Titanic, among other treasures, and visit the wonderful Art Gallery of Nova Scotia on your way.
Halifax’s harbour is one of the deepest natural harbours in the world, and because it never freezes over, one can always see huge container ships nestled alongside luxury cruise liners, military ships, tugboats, a myriad of motor and sailing vessels, and even an oil rig or two undergoing a refit.
It would also not be unusual to have the Bluenose in port, and if so, one can book a moonlit cruise under full sail, an experience of a lifetime.
Furthermore, you can rent a car and in just 20 minutes you can be strolling along some of the most beautiful, sandy beaches in the world, where yes indeed, you can swim in the vast blue waters of the Atlantic ocean.
Tanned and weary, you can return to the comfort and privacy of your home in the evening, where following a relaxing dinner on the patio, you can take in a movie, or live theatre. You might even want to have a babysitter come in for the evening, while you and yours head out for a night on the town.

I am the property owner, and am adding this comment just to get us started. I have rented my properties in London and Canada through vrbo for several years, and while I began a guest book for the London flat in April 2006, I have never had a guest book for my Canadian property. I now realize that this is important, and so thought I would begin one for the upcoming season's bookings. Spring is upon us, and with the warm weather just around the corner, many of you will be heading to Canada's Ocean Playground within the next few months. Halifax has been called the 'city of trees' and musically, it is known as 'the Seattle of the east'. I feel I should not comment on the house itself, and it does not seem quite right to enter others' words form the house guestbook here. And so for now, we will leave it at this.
