Gorgeous Colorado mountain home in the historic mining town of Rico. It is finished and furnished in an extremely tasteful and luxurious "mountain chic" style. While Rico is 25 miles from Telluride, the distance is more than compensated for by the stunning high alpine setting at 9,000 ft. There is a view from every room in the house. It is quite large and perfectly suited to a large extended family.
The house is at the end of a long driveway with a very private and fully fenced backyard. It has three levels of living areas. The main floor has living, dining, kitchen and media rooms. The living room ceiling is two stories high with a thermostat controlled gas wood stove. The upper level has a beautiful master suite with vaulted ceilings plus a beautiful queen-size bed. The master bath has a slate floor and features a rock steam shower, jacuzzi tub and a walk in closet. The second bedroom on the upper level also has vaulted ceilings and a full sized bed.
Bedrooms three and four, on the lower level of the house both have full sized beds. The downstairs also has a great rec room, with a full sized air hockey table and Nautilus adjustable free weights.
There is a sunny back deck and a covered front porch. There is also a covered back porch overlooking a lush lawn area.
The region's finest restaurant, the "Argentine Grill" is just around the corner. Don't miss Chef Eamonn O'Hara's cooking.
Rico is easily accessible from Dolores, CO or Telluride on Highway 145. Durango and Montrose airports are both about 90 miles from Rico. Telluride Airport is 28 miles away.
The Dolores River is visible from all levels of the house.

We fell in love with this part of Colorado nearly twenty years ago when we came for the Bluegrass Festival and then for skiing. The majesty of the Telluride region and the San Juans is unparalleled and every mile of the drive between Rico and Telluride offers breathtaking scenery. It's a beautiful place to be in every season.

You could not ask for a better place. The owner is very friendly and accommodation. The house is very comfortable, well equipped, and well built. It's is a scenic location, not far from some fabulous hikes in the Lizzard Head Wilderness, and 20 some odd miles to Telluride. I would recommend this to a family wanting to do some first class hiking in the area.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

So we stayed here a year ago and I am still thinking about it!! That tells you it was a wonderful spot!! The house is well equipped and welcoming in every way. Great yard for young kids as you can let them out there to play and know they will not wander far away but it is big enough for them to feel like they are on an adventure. Lots of great bike trails for early riders. Beautiful drive into Telluride when you are ready for a little night life. We did have a gret meal at the Argentine Grill although they were really busy the night we were there. Would love to come back again and have recommended it to friends.

I can not express how wonderful of a place this is. Cliff you have a diamond on your hands. We stayed for 7 days I think with my family and 2 others. We had children varing in ages from 6 to 15 and there was so much space for all of us. Close to Teleuride 20ish minutes. The pictures are great but in person is even better. We can not wait, we are coming back this summer. BEAUTIFUL is all I can say and sooooooo very affordable. Thank you Cliff.
