My family and I have stayed at Sea Bird Cottage for a total of 3 weeks over a period of 4 years. I must say this is a favorite place of mine to vacation. I wish that I could stay there every year. The property sits right on the beach with it's own private path (about 25 yards) right out the back yard to the beach. I grew up neighboring Portland and consider the Pine Point & Old Orchard Beaches to be the best of the beaches found in Maine and much nicer than those in neighboring New England areas such as the Cape. The cottage is very close several restaurants which offer a wide variety of cuisine or you may choose to take a short 20 minute drive to Portland if you prefer a wider array of dining and shopping choices. The Old Orchard Beach Amusement Park is just down the street. It's close enough to walk (about 1.5 miles) but far enough away so that your area of the beach remains clear of the crush of the amusement park crowd. The fact that the cottage is in a residential area also impedes a crowd from forming on your end of the beach due to the lack of public parking nearby. Besides the supreme location of this property, there are several aspects of it that I really enjoyed. I really liked having a spacious mowed lawn in the backyard for my kids to play on when they were not at the beach. This is rare for a property that sits right on the beach. We were able to throw the football, baseball, frisbee and we even flew some kites there. Although the home is dated, I loved the fact that the owners have done an excellent job in updating it by purchasing new appliances, a gas grill and adding WiFi as well as some other subtle touches. Another one of my favorite aspects of Sea Bird is the wrap-around porch. It's goes around 3/4 of the home and is divided into distinct segments. 1/3 of the porch is screened in with a huge picnic table and benches as well as additional seating for lounging. 1/3 is enclosed with windows and sliding glass doors that serves as a large heated space if needed or you could open up any number of windows to let in fresh air. 1/3 is an open porch. If you spend any time here, you too will come to realize that the owners really care for the property on a personal level that far exceeds it's value to them as strictly an asset. We were extremely comfortable during each of our stays at this wonderful property and I'm happy to offer my highest recommendation to any potential client considering a vacation in southern Maine.

Over the last 3 years, Sea Bird Cottage has become an annual meeting place for our family. We look forward to returning next year. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. If we have a large group for lunch, the screened porch is ideal. Otherwise, you will find us on the sun porch or taking long walks on the beach. It's the ideal place to relax and enjoy the company of our family and friends. J & K New York City

The feeling you get when you walk into Seabird Cottage is just like being “home”. It is so welcoming and comfortable and pretty much everything you need is provided – even board games, dvd’s, books to read. The beds are very comfortable, the sunporch and the outside porches are the perfect place to gather. We had 10 people in our party but we never felt crowded because there is so much room in this cottage to spread out. I know it is called a “cottage” but it is not like any other cottage I have experienced. It is a spectacular home away from home with an ocean view and miles of beach to walk and enjoy. The reason we chose Pine Point for our family reunion is because our parents had honeymooned there in 1949. My sisters and I decided to celebrate our parents lives by getting together in the town where Mom & Dad started their married life together. I googled “cottage rental in Pine Pt. Me” and this glorious home appeared on my screen. I couldn’t believe how perfect it seemed. I e-mailed the owner, Karen and she responded quickly and pretty soon we had our reservation set. I actually got to speak with Karen a couple of times and she was wonderful. June, the Realtor, was very nice and helpful too. Everything about our stay was perfect and we can’t wait to do it again in the near future. P.S. We decided to try and find the tiny cottage where Mom & Dad stayed in 1949. We knew it was a long shot but lo and behold we found it in perfect condition within walking distance of Seabird Cottage!! That was the perfect ending to our perfect stay.

We recently traveled to Maine for a fall vacation, and stayed in this lovely home for two weeks. Although it was difficult to drag ourselves away from the sun porch with its relaxing ocean view, we found the cottage to be a perfect launching point for various day trips to nearby sites such as Kennebunkport, Kittery, Freeport, Prouts Neck, and York. The Ogunquit Playhouse is a short distance away, and we attended an exciting production of Chicago. Bar Harbor is a scenic three hour drive away, and well worth the time. The cottage itself is meticulously clean, adorably decorated, and extremely comfortable. It has the character that one finds only in an older home and the modern conveniences that we have come to expect. The owners have generously stocked it to meet every imaginable need. It is clear that this is a home in which a real family has lived and made memories, with the result being that we felt much more like guests than renters. After taking an overnight trip to Moosehead Lake, we commented on returning to the cottage that it felt good to be "home." We hope to make many return trips to Maine and this perfect vacation spot.

Our journey for a vacation home in Maine began with our son's upcoming April wedding. We began planning the special event by working towards finding a comfortable beach house that would accomodate our family and our extended family. Another factor we had to consider was the location of our destination. The home that we were looking for had to be close to the hall that our son's wedding reception would be. We were so fortunate to find this wonderful home on line as well as dealing with professional and caring people from Bayside Rentals. June accomodated our needs and met any requests we had asked for. She made our stay so much more enjoyable. The home itself was beyond our expectations. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and a good size. The kitchen was clean, well equipped and made it possible to host a day after wedding brunch for the wedding party and guests. The porches were spectacular and provided each guest with a warm and welcome feeling. There were plenty of places to sit, relax, socialize and enjoy the beautiful view of the beach. The outdoor cooking was perfect for bbq and entertaining. The yard was large, well maintained and was perfect for wedding pictures as well as for the children to play on. An extra bonus was that this enchanting home was right across the street from the reception hall. We would highly recommend this home for anyone visiting Maine. We are looking forward to renting this home again!

I loved my vacation to Maine this past summer and staying in this home made it a trip to remember forever! I LOVED getting to sit on the porch each morning to drink coffee and look out at the water. The rooms are charming and the home is large enough for many people to sleep and live comfortably. Everything you could possibly need is at your fingertips... The town is charming and cozy and even though we were there in June, nothing was crowded. It was lovely to just walk along the beach or sit at the house talking, watching a movie or playing games. I would go back in a heartbeat! If you are vacationing in this area you should rent this home and stay for a while! You won't regret it!

I loved my stay at this enchanting home on the beach in June of this year. The home has everything you need for a wonderful vacation - plenty of bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, lots of sitting rooms looking toward the beach, porches, beach chairs, and a private and short walk to the beautiful, clean beach. All the rooms are well appointed as well as comfortable. A large group could gather here yet have plenty of space for relaxing or reading alone. Additionally, there are large tables both inside and on the porch for games or eating. I highly recommend this home for anyone visiting Maine. An additional bonus is the nearby Portland airport, if you're flying from out of town/state. You can also take short drives to other nearby and fun towns for shopping or dining. I can't wait to go back!

My family has been coming to this house for years, and it's my favorite place to vacation. The house is very quaint and comfortable - everything a beach house should be. The indoor and outdoor porches all around the house are great places to sit & read, drink your coffee (or wine) and look out over the ocean. The porches also give you a lot of room to spread out, which is especially nice if you have a big group (like my family). It's so nice having the beach right there - 30 seconds down a sandy path. The beach is always beautiful and clean. The area is mostly beach homes, as opposed to condos & motels, so it's not packed with tourists like it sometimes is at the far end of the beach (3 miles away). It's a great place to take long walks on the beach I would definitely recommend this house for your next vacation. It is beautiful & relaxing. This house is so picturesque it should be in a magazine. Our vacations in Pine Point, ME, have been wonderful.
