With its 100 feet of private lake frontage, you can also enjoy water sports, fishing, or just relaxing outdoors under the cool canopy of trees. With two spacious floors, you can enjoy a family gathering, a golfers retreat, or any other vacation desire without feeling cramped.
At the waters edge you will enjoy clean swimming(semi rocky/sandy bottom), a 50 foot boat dock with boat hoist, a firepit, a large picnic table, and plenty of yard to throw down lawn chairs and lake toys. From this location on Elk Lake you can easily boat to adjoining Lake Skegemog, Torch River and Torch Lake.
Your get-away destination is located five minutes from Elk Rapids and Highway 31, off of Elk Lake Road, on the west shore (typically less windy). Traverse City Airport is approximately 30 minutes, door to door. Whitewater Township has a public boat launch about 10 minutes away or at the Elk Rapids Marina. Boat rentals are available in Elk Rapids and the return trip to the house’s dock is 15 minutes by boat.
The main level offers an open floor plan with a large kitchen and breakfast bar with stools, a dining room, and living room overlooking the yard to the lake. There is an enclosed sunroom off the kitchen, opening to a large deck with stairs that descend to the backyard. The lower deck leads to a spacious lawn, large enough to play horse shoes or a field game of your choice. There are three bedrooms and two full baths upstairs (including master bedroom/bath).
Downstairs you will find another living room/den area with a walk-out patio plus two more bedrooms with a full bath in the hall. For those with an appetite for some table tennis, there is a full-size ping-pong table.
This home has recently been updated and freshly painted.
Three of the five bedrooms offer a view of the lake. This home can sleep ten to eleven comfortably with two queen beds, two double beds, and one room with three twin beds. Cable TV/VCR/DVD are available on the main and lower levels. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer on the main floor.

Why the Owner Chose Elk Rapids
Our intention was to return and buy a permanent home 'someday', but after previewing a few lake shore properties, we fell in love with the ranch style home you are looking at today. Still on active duty and with a senior in high school, the time isn't quite right for us to become full time residents.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We use our home on and off through out the year as time and duty allows. There is nothing more relaxing for us than waking up in our canopy of trees to our lake view and golden sunrise with a coffee and bagel in hand. The local golf courses offer a close second however. Northern Michigan lakes are notoriously pure and Elk Lake typifies this attribute. (So far, I think I've caught the largest fish in our family.) It is our hope that other families, water lovers, golf and fishing enthusiasts will make wonderful memories of their own as we offer our home up for seasonal vacation rental. Come experience Northern Michigan, it is a pure delight.

My family and I came to Elk Rapids for a vacation in 2004 after five years in Asia with the USAF. My husband being a graduate of Elk Rapids High, wanted to get us all back to a little "hometown" experience.
