  Beautiful country, friendly people and very nice apartment. We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks in february. Very clean,well equipped and very relaxing. Lots of thanks to our housekeeper ,she even did our washing and she was very pleasant. We have 3 years old son he really enjoy pool, running in a garden and watching monkeys . We visited many beaches including Crane , Bathsheba ,Dover and Miami. In my opinion Miami beach is the best beach for kids and adutls.It takes about 30-40 minutes to get there. Mullins Beach is 5 minutes walk but it was washed away and it is very rocky to get in the water. About 3 minutes drive there is playground for kids and a small nice beach, with everything you need. We used that one a lot. Our son had a very bad cold when we arrived so we had to use private clinic which was very good. I would recommend 2 restaurants for dinner "Beach house" and MANGO'S "BY THE SEA" nice view ,good food and excellent service. If you travel with a small kids watch out for a small green apples on West coast, they poisoning if you touch them. I would definitely recommend the property to anyone but especially families with small children.

  My family (including a 9 year old and a 7 year old) stayed in the Garden Apartment for about 12 days in August 2010. The apartment is set in a beautifully maintained secluded garden with a lovely pool. The apartment itself was a real home from home - clean, comfortable and with all mod-cons. It was extremely hot whilst we were the there, but thanks to the aircon the bedrooms were deliciously cool. There are only two other properties in the grounds, so it is quiet and you can maintain your privacy if you want (though we found it more fun to mingle!) The staff were extremely friendly and obliging but also discreet. The listing was spot on, and we were not disappointed with the accommodation in any way. The owners (Simon and Sarah) provide a really helpful guide to the island including lots of first-hand advice and recommendations for local restaurants, shopping, beaches, activities etc, which proved invaluable. The setting was so perfect that we spent a lot of time just sitting on the large deck under the mango tree, with a rum punch watching the hummingbirds and flycatchers whilst the kids splashed in the pool. We did make it at least as far as Mullins Beach (an easy 5 minute stroll) on most days. Mullins Beach is fairly small but there's lots to do including a variety of watersports and the kids loved the floating trampoline and inflatable iceberg; hot dogs and drinks are available from the beach restaurant and there's a kiosk selling cold drinks, ice creams and trinkets. Gibbs Beach, which is quieter and more secluded, is a short walk along the sand from Mullins. We also got out and about a bit, and visited some of the other beaches - our favourite was probably Miami beach (on the south coast) and Crane Beach is also worth a visit (less to do, but stunning). We had some great meals out including The Fish Pot near Speightstown, Cassareep Cafe and Dazzlers Sports Bar. But best of all was barbecuing the fantastically fresh (and cheap) fish from the market on our own deck. As regards other things to do, the catamaran cruise round the coast which includes a delicious lunch and the chance to snorkel with turtles, should not be missed. Grenade Hall wildlife park and signal station is also recommended. Overall a perfect holiday, and the garden apartment was a wonderful home during our regrettably short stay, and strongly recommended.

  We had the pleasure of staying in the Garden apartment for 10 days in January 2010 with our 2.5 year old daughter. We found the property exactly as described and as seen on the photos. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you might possibly need. Large deck overlooking beautiful lush garden is fantastic. There were a lot of toys, games and DVDs to provide entertainment for our daughter. The property is located in a quiet residential area a short walk from Mullins beach. We were not impressed by the beach but it was ok. We had a lunch or two at the beach restaurant and found it nice but overpriced. There are better dining options a short bus ride up and down the coast. Ten minute walk south from Mullins is Gibbes beach which is more quiet and scenic. We have also used one of the recommended catering options on two occasions and it was very good and inexpensive - highly recommended. Also be sure to check out the fish market nearby, very cheap and as fresh as it gets! Overall, I would definitely recommend the property to anyone but especially families with small children. We would love to come back with friends or family one day and stay in the main house!

  Im not exaggerating when i say this was the perfect holiday. As soon as we arrived at Mullins bay pool apartment i felt the stress of England melt away. The Pool apartment was perfect for my boyfriend and i. We hired a car and explored the island most days- but always looked forward to coming back to the house to jump in the pool. The location is perfect- the most beautiful beach at the end of the road (about 300 yards). Booking the apartment was simple- A couple of emails and it was all sorted. Sarah always responded quickly and provided us with loads of info to help us enjoy our stay. Be aware that eating out can be at be pricey- however the facilities at the pool apartment made self catering very easy with everything provided. i have told all my friends to visit this gorgeous island- but trying to keep mullins Bay a secret- as i want to make sure i can re visit a piece of paradise sometime soon.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

  I had a most relaxing and enjoyable week staying in the Garden Apartment in Mullins Bay. Total R&R - perfect for those in need of a switch off from the daily grind of working life! I was delighted with the apartment as it was exactly as shown on the web: it was clean, tidy and in excellent condition. Andrea and Andrew (daily housekeeper and gardener) were very friendly and helpful too. The owners, Sarah & Simon, provide a full info pack on what to do and where to go together with emergency numbers, taxis and even the recipe for some delicious rum punch which is an absolute must! The beach is only a short walk away where there is a handy bar and restaruant however, there are many great restaurants / bars which you should also try out across the whole island. I would definitely come back and would happily recommend the apartment to my friends - one day, I would love to rent the house, garden & pool apartments for all my friends and family which would make a truly memorable and wonderful holiday!

  We stayed in the Garden Apartment with our 1 yr old daughter in January 2009 and i would highly recommend it for families with young children. The staff were exceptionally friendly and fun and would do anything to help us. The apartment was cleaned daily apart from weekends and the gardens and the pool were lovely. Sarah and Simon have a fantastic array of children's toys, books, dvds, highchairs, cots...everything you could possibly need when travelling with kids. I would recommend hiring a car soon after you arrive to get about, which is exceptionally easy, but much better than using the buses. The apartment is really well located; close to Speightstown for the shops and some fantastic restaurants (definitely recommend the fishpot!) If you're lucky like us, you'll see the monkey's strolling through the grounds in the morning, looking for mangoes! Would definitely recommend staying here for a relaxed, informal stay and we will definitely be going back!

  Our honeymoon was everything we had hoped for. The Garden Apartment was great, just as described on the website. It was spacious, clean and modern, and it provided us with all the freedom that we would not have had if we had stayed in a hotel. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the veranda for breakfasts and evening meals, as well as relaxing in the lovely pool and garden. We also hired a jeep and ventured around the island a lot, did lots of scuba-diving, went on a fantastic helicopter flight round the entire coast (a nice wedding present!), many trips to the local beaches, a rum factory tour, a wildlife park, caves, gardens, as well as going to some lovely restaurants for romantic dinners whilst watching the beautiful sunsets! Plus we managed to rest a lot too, which was really needed after all those months of wedding planning!! We really loved Barbados - no doubt we will be back one day...

  We had a wonderful stay at the Garden Apartment - it is spacious, clean, beautifully furnished with all mod cons. The staff are so friendly and helpful, it felt like we had known them forever. It is also in a perfect position, a short walk to the beach and a short ride to Hole Town or Speightstown with a great slection of bars and restaurants for all tastes and pockets. The garden is gorgeous, perfect for chilling, kicking a ball or just enjoying the flora and watching out for the monkeys. A dip in the pool followed by a bar-be-que and a few rum punches cnanot be bettered! We look forward to going back and would thoroughly recoomend it to anyone (as long as we can still get booked!).
