Our 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath 2 story home is located DIRECTLY on the Beach. You couldn't get any closer to the sand and water without being in it.

--Upper Living Room Panoramic views of Kailua Bay and the surrounding islands and mountains. 3 sliding glass patio doors and large windows. Surrounded by a 1300 sq. ft. lanai.
--Custom KITCHEN, spacious DINING AREA, and LANAI, which wraps around three sides of the house providing views of the beach, the yard, and the mountains, encompass the rest of the second level.
--Lower Living Area features 2nd KITCHEN open to a DINING AREA, SITTING AREA, and FULL BATH.
The lower common areas LEAD one directly into the large and beautifully landscaped LAWN and BEACH.
The house is well divided to provide maximum privacy for each bedroom and all the rooms have ocean views and sounds.
Our beachfront Plantation style home was designed to reflect the traditional Hawaiian architecture and blend in with the surrounding beach community and environment. The interior décor of our home reflects this tradition as well with fully modern convenience and comfort Our furnishings are made of woods and materials traditionally found on the islands, Koa and Bamboo, and we strive to keep the feel of Hawaii throughout the house with tastefully chosen accessories.
A solar water heater and eco-friendly bamboo floor make the home environmentally friendly.
THE BEACH
EVERYTHING for your beach vacation is provided with the house, towels, chairs, Lots of BEACH TOYS, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. The sounds and views of the beach, ocean, and surf are always within range.
This home is on beautiful Kailua Beach which has been named among the best beaches in the US. Our particular beachfront area is quiet and serene, the large yard and spacious house will allow you to relax and enjoy the tranquility of Hawaii and our quiet beach community.
Advance grocery shopping, maid service, babysitting, and dining and activity bookings can be made through the offsite caretaker.

Being in the hotel business, I have seen many different accommodations in my life. This house was perfectly appointed for a perfect, relaxing, easy beach vacation. Dan graciously provides SUP, surf boards, kayaks, boogie boards, lawn games, books, board games. You don't need to rent or bring a thing! The house has a spectacular view and the most gracious wraparound porch in Kailua. There are copious beach towels, bath towels, paper towels, detergent, etc. (He even has a generous supply of chop sticks). It is so nice not to come to a rental house and have to completely outfit it before you can even think of walking on the beach. The house is also immaculately clean and the furnishings are comfortable and functional. There is everything you need to cook, as if you were home. I have rented other houses on Kailua Beach and was disappointed. Our expectations were exceeded here. It was everything the pictures show and then some.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We moved the date of our arrival in order to stay at this house and we did not regret it for a second. Not only is the location of the house perfect -- you have a large grass lawn and you are literally steps away from the beach -- but the owner of the house has the house stocked with everything you would need to enjoy your stay in beautiful Kailua. In addition to all of the amenities, the owner also rented a stroller for my children, an extra pack n play and a high chair. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive; there was nothing he wouldn't help with -- from giving directions to the local sites to answering questions about the house at any time. You could not find a more convenient location in Oahu; it's 20 minutes from Waikiki, 30 minutes from the airport and less than 5 minutes away from downtown Kailua. We wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be returning. It was a perfect house, for a perfect stay in Oahu.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

We were fortunate to be able to live in the home for three months this year. It has the best view on the beach, perfect for watching the sunrise and activity on the beach (wind surfers, swimmers, dog walkers, paddle boarders and canoes). The wrap around lanai is where we spent a lot of time. Our friends also enjoyed the house and the view. The location is great - close enough to get to Honolulu easily yet far enough away from the city to feel like you are living in a neighborhood. The house comes with everything you could possibly want, from water toys to a fully functional kitchen. All of our needs were met. We spent a delightful Christmas vacation here with our children and grand-children. There is a nice yard and it is right on the beach. The little boys loved the beach; it was perfect for them to play in the shallow surf. And there were tons of toys, for the little ones as well as the older adults. This house was the most well equipped I have ever seen! There were condiments in the refrigerator and spices in the cupboards, and all the kitchen equipment that anyone could want. It was clean and well maintained, and even decorated for our Christmas visit. We will return again to this home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

and could finally afford it. This is not the cheapest Kailua beach house, but depending on what is important to you, it may be the best value. It is pearched right above the best part of the beach, just Lanikai side of dead center. From the large second story living room, the bay lays before you through floor to ceiling glass. The covered, wrap around porch allows you to enjoy being outdoors, rain or shine. The ocean can be seen, heard, smelled, felt.... Excellent, confortable furnishings thoroughout. Owners have great attention to detail- top notch linens, every kitchen utensil and gadget is there, dozens of beach towells, very generously supplied with books, games, ocean equipment. Nothing is missing. Laundry facility has DUPLICATE high end washer/dryer sets. Outside beach shower has hot water. The owners are a father daughter team that are friendly, accessable and helpful. The only negatives are lack of a jacuzzi or pool, and no AC (shouldn't matter except during occasional kona wind days during summer). We will be going back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Three generations of our family enjoyed a wonderful 12 day visit here in September '09. Being right on the beach and having all the necessary towels, chairs and toys, for big and small people, insured a good time. The house was comfortable and had plenty of room to gather together, cook and eat (indoors and outside), or spread out for privacy and naps, too. Wow. What a wonderful home and amazing place. The home has all the amenieties you could ever want, and the beach toys kept us entertained without fail. The views from the home are spectacular, and the lovely decor and furnishings made it a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. The welcome Kat and Dan gave us was wonderful and started long before we arrived with a beautiful coconut postcard. We were made to feel right at home from the very start which only added to our enjoyment. Kat met us when we arrived to show us round, and was at the end of the phone if we needed anything. We had drawn up an itinery for our stay but with the magnificent beach before us, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave it for one minute. We had a wonderful 10 days at your splendid beach house. It was very accommodating for our family of 10. We were there in preparation for the wedding of our daughter and it was the perfect spot for relaxing before the big day. The location is ideal. You are close to the shopping in Kailua but when you are on the beach it is like you are miles away from civilization! We had such a good time in the surf and appreciated all the "beach toys" that were provided. Dan is a wonderful host and Kat a most gracious hostess. Thank you for a memorable time at Hawaiianhale! We've stayed here twice and can't wait to go back! The house is perfect: beautiful casual decor, gorgeous views, and all the beach gear you could ask for. The house is perfect for families. We've stayed here with kids ranging from age 1 to 9. Dan and Kat have made every effort to accommodate our needs. The beach right outside the door is wonderful-great bodysurfing and boogieboarding. Few words can begin to describe the beauty, comfort and luxury of Dan Dudden's home on one of the best beaches in the world. My husband and I found his property on the internet and enjoyed 2 weeks for our honeymoon exatly 5 years ago. Each day is a memory I'll never forget. Waking up to the sounds of gentle crashing waves, the smell of clean ocean air, coffee on the wrap around deck watching the sunrise every morning, snorkling right out the door, kayaking every day for miles and miles, enjoying cooking in his fully loaded kitchen, watching movies at night and sleeping in extremly comfortable beds. We had to go back, so two years later we brought my husband's family along. We knew they would love it and they have not stopped talking about that home and location and trip. Ok...we are totally addicted, so two years later (one year ago exactly...January of 2008) we brought my family there. Three couples fit so well in that house and game time at night was the highlight after long days of beautiful walks and hikes and hanging on the beach. We found out one day after our Hawaii vacation last year that my sister in law who was on our trip was dying of stage four cancer. She felt perfectly great in Hawaii and enjoyed all activities. Dan Dudden provided a home to fuse our family together and we didn't even know what news was coming once we got home. THE GREATEST thing is we all have glorious pictures and that vacation was indeed the most priceless of all. Postive? That is a very underrated word for this home. A MUST VISIT is more appropriate. About the owner: We are from colorful Colorado, visited Hawaii and knew we had found another Paradise. We have been selectively renting our home for the past 12 years. We enjoy sharing this wonderful bit of Hawaii and making new friends.
