What a marvelous stay we had at the Casa de las Divas. We were there for the entire month of March, 2012. We had the upstairs apartment, which was beautifully furnished, comfortable, and immaculately clean. The kitchen had all the required modern appliances, and one could prepare full meals there. The bathroom was also great, and one never lacked for hot water. We enjoyed sampling all the restaurants in town, and the apartment was within walking distance of them all, except for a few which were on the outskirts. As a matter of fact, the apartment had such a great location that one could walk to almost all of the sights in the city. It was only 2 blocks to El Jardin, the "town square", where all the action was, especially on Saturdays, when mariachi groups performed throughout the afternoon. In every respect, the apartment lived up to its photos and description. The owner was very helpful in answering questions, and when one of us needed some medical attention, she recommended her own doctor and assisted in making the appointment. As far as restaurants go, our two favorites were Mivida (an upscale Italian restaurant) and, at the opposite end, Muro, serving good Mexican home-style dishes. (Their comida was certainly the best bargain in town.) Would I stay here again? Of course - I can't imagine a better place to stay. Casa de las Divas has it all - great location, stylish furnishings (Mexican folk art throughout), comfort, and a warm and welcoming landlady.

This was our tenth visit to San Miguel in 5 years. We’ve rented homes all over town, and this was our first time at Casa de Las Divas. We choose it based solely on the information and photos provided by VRBO. We stayed in the upper casita – a two-bedroom, two full bath apartment - from Feb 11th through 18th, 2012. We arrived quite late on our first night, and Melissa (the owner who lives on the property) had been kind enough to pick up some sandwiches for us. So thoughtful and very much appreciated. Melissa’s graciousness and knowledge of San Miguel are among the best features of this property. The location of Casa de Las Divas is truly convenient, a short flat walk from the center of town. The casita, quiet and set well back from the street, is as represented, no surprises, and the basics are covered: our bed was comfortable; there was comfortable furniture in the tasteful, ample living & dining area; sufficient hot water and good water pressure; wi-fi worked well. The kitchen is small but adequate, though we did not find it to be particularly well accessorized. There’s a full-size washer and dryer just outside the front door to this casita. Housekeeping was excellent and unobtrusive. It was unusually cool and cloudy during our week, but the gas fireplace in the living room kept the main living area comfortable, though an electric space heater in our bedroom had trouble keeping up at night. You’ll enjoy great views and lovely flowers on the roof terrace. We'd rent again at Casa de Las Divas.

We stayed in the upper casita Jan 14th through 30th, 2012 and couldn't be happier with our stay. The casita is as pictured and, unlike alot of rentals online, the basics are really there - good water pressure/ample hot water; comfortable beds with down comforters, plenty of towels, comfortable furniture in the large living/dining area and WIFI that really works. Melissa, the owner, is gracious, friendly and goes the extra mile. She is a wealth of information about SMA, dropped by one morning with fresh empanadas and on our only day of rain thoughtfully brought us an umbrella. The roof terrace is a joy - loaded with flowers and great views. Location is perfect - easy walk to Jardin, restaurants, all the places you want to go in walking distance. Maid service by Larena was great and unobtrusive - she anticipated our every need. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it highly.

This was my first visit to San Miguel and Casa de Las Divas was referred to me by some friends who highly recommend I stay there, as well as by the owner/chef of one of San Miguel's premier restaurants. I'm glad they all did and it made for a memorable and enjoyable first visit to San Miguel and I will make Casa de Las Divas a primary location to stay for all my future visits. It's located in a great spot just a few blocks from the town square (Jardin) and the rooftop patio offers a relaxing environment with a great city view for a morning coffee or nightcap. The property manager greeted me upon my arrival and ensured I understood how everything worked and how to communicate with them incase I needed anything. The accommodations are clean, nice and comfortable and offer a comfortable and relaxing stay. I felt safe, secure and relaxed inside the villa and in town and can't wait to go back.

I had wanted to go to San Miguel for many years. I talked to a friend about going. She had been to San Miguel many times since the early 70’s. She recommended Casa de las Divas. The owner is a friend of hers. She did not stir me wrong. What a great week. We stayed in the upper casita. It was a lovely two bedroom two bath apartment (casita). I loved the fireplace on the cool morning. It was very comfortable and I felt very much at home. Safety was never an issue from the start to the finish. We flew into the Querétaro airport. Melissa the owner suggested the shuttle to take. It was a pleasant 55 min ride in a new suburban. The shuttle took us right to the front door. We walked everywhere after that. It is a great location only minutes from the Jardin. There were many wonderful restaurants, shops, small sidewalk cafes and cantinas all within a few minutes’ walk. Melissa was a gracious host and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend Casa De Las Divas. I hope to go back and spend more time.
Owner response:Wayne and Cynthia were wonderful guests. I feel like we have made new friends and look forward to their next visit!!!

This was our second visit to SMA...this was the best location for great restaurants. Melissa made us fee right at home. The lower Casita worked great for two couples. The roof top balcony gave a lovely feeling of the outdoors and a beautiful view of the city.

We were absolutely thrilled with the upper apt. in Casa de las Divas. Melissa the owner thought ahead about meeting our needs. The two bedroom two bath apt. was roomy and very comfortable-- not always the case with Mexican furniture. We loved living in the middle of so many wonderful pieces of Mexican art--very tastefully decorated. Location could not be better--in the center of town in the middle of everything. We plan to come back next years with two friends who will take the first floor apartment. My thanks to the Divas. We wanted to take Lorena, the maid or house goddess, back to Puerto Vallarta with us. She was wonderful.

My friend and I knew we wanted more a home feel, not a bed and breakfast or hotel. We wanted to be within walking distance of everything. We wanted all the conveniences of home and we got it all. The owner and her staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend Casa De Las Divas and plan to make it my next stay in San Miguel.

I am half a pair of reasonably active septuagenarians who had the pleasure of staying at Casa de Las Divas in April. A profusiion of plants, brilliantly colored flowers, and little framed paintings lead the way to our lower casita and continued to the inside. Divas has purified drinking water as well as a complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator. Each of the two bedrooms has its own bath, and there is a little private patio just off the dining area. Without being intrusive, owner Melissa, daughter Clair, and housekeeper Lorena made sure we were comfortable at all times. Divas is about a 15-minute walk from the center of town where, among other things, you will find a bank, post office, places to eat, and the Mercado de Artesanias with its stalls of authentic but inexpensive jewelry and clothing. Melissa is very knowledgeable about San Miguel and when asked about galleries away from the town center, suggested Fabrica La Aurora, a former textile mill turned design and art center. Well worth visiting. One evening it rained and, not wanting to walk to town for dinner, we headed for the little store across the street for a feast of snack foods. Mellissa met us and suggested a restaurant on the same street and telephoned to see if they accepted Visa. They did, and she left her umbrella for us to use. Bugambilia, the restaurant, is like an indoor garden. The food was delicious (try something unfamiliar), the service excellent, and the prices unexpectedly reasonable. A guitar trio performed that evening. I recommend Casa de Las Divas for its location, comfort, beauty, and attention to detail. Our vacation was all we wanted it to be.
Owner response:Delightful guests and hope they return soon!!

As you enter the door way of Casa De Las Divas you view a long beautiful hallway, filled with plants, sculpture and art. At the end you will see a patio and the entrance to one of the casitas. this is the one where I have stayed several times. It is lovely and colorful, just like San Miguel!! The apartment has everything I needed...especially a coffee pot. there are two bedrooms, two baths, phone, TV, kitchen with everything you need to cook. The whole property is quite and restful. The owner lives on the property and that is a real plus. She knows all the best places to eat and what is going on in town. It also is a comfort to have someone near in case you need help as I was traveling alone. On the practical side, the place is spotlessly clean and and is kept that way. I have been visiting San Miguel for 40 years and love, love love, the town. I know the town well and can say that Casa De Las Divas is a perfect place to stay. It is in easy walking distance of the jardin which is the center plaza of town. This is a great place for artists as it is esthetically pleasing. Nothing left to say except, what are you waiting for?

I LOVED staying at Casa de las Divas! The location is the best because it's in the heart of San Miguel and walking distance to everything. The casita was very comfortable, clean, and with nice Mexican decor. The patio is full of beautiful colorful plants and flowers that immediately cheer you up. The owner was very accommodating and made my stay there very pleasant. I would definitely come back to Casa de las Divas and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Miguel.

Recently my wife and I stayed in the upper casita at La Casa de las Divas, and it was absolutely beautiful. The typical Mexican decor was charming and we felt at home. The location was just right, very close to the jardin and within walking distance of everything. We enjoyed breakfast and the view from the roof terrace. Melissa, the owner, was the perfect hostess who was available when you needed a recommendation for a good restaurant or information regarding San Miguel in general. We highly recommend it. I look forward to returning.

We rented both the upper & lower casitas for a few days in August and loved it...It was comfortable & beautifully decorated...a private, peaceful little cacoon in a garden setting & in a great location near the Jardin Principal in SMA. Erika was more than helpful and provided an abundance of good info. I have a fond memory of waking up just before dawn to "booming" noises off in the distance and climbing up to the rooftop garden in time to see fireworks lighting up the night sky & the cathedral near the Jardin. It was an amazing visual I will not soon forget. We only wish we had had more time to explore this colorful, charming little town, it's culture, art and good food! So, we'll definitely be back!

I found Casa de las Divas on the internet - without recommendations so I thought maybe I was taking a chance. No "chances" here - I was there for almost 5 weeks and loved every second. The location couldn't have been more superb - 3 blocks from my great Spanish School and three blocks from the Jardin - restaurants on every corner and the best grocery store in all of San Miguel a few blocks away. The casita was thoroughly equipped - even got Florida television stations, a washer and dryer, and more than comfortable. Melissa, the owner, went out of her way to assure that I had all the information and comforts of home. I highly recommend Casa de las Divas (except for the dates that I will want to come back and then I wouldn't want anyone taking it from under me!

We stayed in the upper casita over the Easter break. The location can not be beat. We were able to walk almost everywhere. Even though the casita is on a busy a street, which was great if we needed to hail a cab, we never heard any of the street noise. Our almost six year old was enchanted by the casita and almost cried when we left. The house was every convenieince we needed. The owner, Melissa, had great recommendations and the maid, Lorena, was so helpful. I can not imagine staying anywhere else in SMA. We are trying to figure out when we can go back!

We loved staying at the Casa. THe location was perfect: right near everything. But an oasis of quiet and color and calm when we needed it. The rooms are very comfortable and the heaters were appreciated on cold nights. We enjoyed breakfast in the patio and sunsets from the rooftop. A perfect stay in San Miguel!

The Divas exceeded our expectations in every respect. Three of us fit very comfortably into this beautiful two bedroom casita. The photos provided to us were surpassed by the place itself, and the lovely garden within the premises. Everything we needed was provided, including books, wifi and an informative binder guiding us to many scrumptious local restaurants. Housekeeping- immaculate and unobtrusive. Hostess- delightful, informative, very gracious. Location- centrally located, no need to climb uphill or down- but there is one flight of stairs to climb. Also quiet and peaceful. When traveling, we often miss our own comfortable bed, but not in this case. The only problem with this place? You feel so much at home, and lack for nothing- it's just too hard to go home. We would not hesitate to return!
Owner response:Wonderful guests, their date of stay was actually October and November 2010!

Wonderful place to get away. I've stayed twice, and both casitas are well-appointed, clean, and centrally located. My guests and I were amazed at the variety of things to do in SMA-- great restaurants, concerts, shops-- not to mention the scenery. We walked everywhere we went, with no trouble at all. Melissa and her staff were friendly and professional. We certainly plan to go back.

My wife and I stayed in the upper Casita for the first week in January, 2009, and had a very positive experience. The location was as good as it gets, and the casita was quiet, clean and comfortable. The cleaning person was very efficient and available daily if needed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen clean and well-supplied. As Melissa, the owner, lives in a house on premisis, there is always a feeling of security. Melissa, a self titled "recovering attorney," is energetic, warm, and gracious, and a most valuable resource for things to do in San Miguel or lively chatting.

Bopb and I have stayed at Casa de las Divas 7 times. That number speaks for itself! The location is perfect and situates you right there close to the Jardin and all that it has to offer, and yet the Casa is quiet and as restful as you want it to be. The casitas (we have stayed in both) are very beautifully furnished with Mexican Folk art and these artifacts tell you that you are where history goes back many centuries and yet lives on in daily life. Everything is kept so clean, and is well managed.

Everything was wonderful! Specifically, the casita was extremely clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fountain in the courtyard and the fireplace on one rainy & chilly evening. Lorena housekeeper was outstanding! She was very polite, extremely diligent and seemed to always go above and beyond any reasonable expectations. The only downsides were that there were no bathtubs. Both bathrooms had showers. We were extremely pleased with the price, the comfort of the accomodations, & the location. We will definitely try to stay there again and can highly recommend this property to others.

Our casita exceeded our expectations. The decor is cheerful and the spaciousness makes it feel like a home. In addition, we arrived to find a lovely arrangement of fresh flowers along with a welcoming gift from the owner. Sunsets from the lovely rooftop terrace are unforgettable. Best of all, though, this location is only a few minutes' walk from the jardin, a nice grocery store, the artisans' market, the farmers' market, and several great restaurants. The casitas are a real bargain!
