We had the most amazing experience at this property. There was twelve of us including 5 children! No problems with noise as we all had our own areas if we needed to have some quite time. Very clean and the gardens are awesome. The children loved sitting in the yard at the little table. We would highly recommend staying here and if we are ever fortunate enough to have a family reunion in a tropical location we would stay at this property. All the information you need about Kauai is in the book they have provided including babysitting. Thanks Lynn!!!!

Perfect tropical paradise, Villa Vista fulfilled all our family's dreams of a relaxed, beautiful, luxurious home experience for the 9 of us. The home was impeccably decorated and spotlessly clean with never any insects. We spent $700 at Costco the first day and the gourmet kitchen accommodated all our cooking and eating pleasures. The 270 degree uninterrupted view with wrap around private deck and covered outdoor dining room provided the backdrop and the back yard pond and hot tub were a highlight. The house was furnished with all the items we needed for a toddler, and was very safe for him to explore and enjoy. Now that we are home, he asks to go to "Hawaii House". We played tennis, hiked, enjoyed famous beaches Brenneke and Shipwreck within a 10 min. walk on the Greenbelt. Activity ideas were well delineated and evaluated in the notebook at the house. The owner's notes were especially thorough and accurate. The helicopter tour out of Hanapepe, (Island Tours?) was fabulous, and the hike to Secret Beach unforgettable. Hope to return next year.
Owner response:Aloha to our guests from Idaho! We are so glad your family enjoyed beautiful Kauai in Poipu Villa Vista. We take pride in providing a high end, well kept and maintained vacation home and are certainly pleased when people appreciate it. Best Regards and please return you are most welcome!

Our family of 8 enjoyed our time in your home so very much. We range in age from 7 to 65. The childless adults stayed upstairs in the main house and the family with children in the apartment below. It was absolutely perfect! With the ability to open up the back of the home almost entirely to take advantage of the tranquil and beautifully landscaped backyard, it was like living outside with indoor amenities! The kitchen was great -- even for multiple cooks. Our family is still talking about the home and our vacation everytime we come together. Oh yes, I almost forgot the master bath shower! It is an experience in and of itself. So much so that our 7 year old grandson would come bounding up the stairs from the apartment below every morning just to take a shower -- 7 year old boy wanting to take a shower -- enough said! A wonderful home for families to simply relax and enjoy Kauai and each other!

Our group of 7 people rented the upper level of this home January 14-21, 2012. The home exceeds what is portrayed in the pictures. It was very open, comfortable and clean. It comes equipped with everything you might possibly need. All of the wooden-carved furnishings were beautiful. The decor of the house is very well done. It had a huge kitchen, (big enough that we had 5 cooks in the kitchen together one night.) I also think it probably has the best lanai and view on the block. To be honest, there is really only a sliver of an ocean view. But the mountain views are spectacular. The driveway is pretty nasty. There were 7 of us in a minivan and we scraped the bottom every single time no matter which way we angled. But I guess it wasn't a big deal. I would recommend renting an suv or jeep if possible. The master suite was amazing, especially the shower in the bathroom. However, my husband and I didn't get to be in the master suite and we felt the wooden slatted doors lacked privacy that was much needed when traveling with the in-laws. The hot tub was very nice and we spent so much time at the close beaches we never went to the community pool or hot tub, though we checked them out and they did seem nice. The beach really is a 5-10 min walk or a 3 min drive. Some things I would recommend people do while in Kauai: A whale watching cruise up the Na Pali coast, hike to some of the dozens of secret beaches, take in the view from the Kileaua Lighthouse, take a surfing lesson, Friday art night in Hanapepe, and snorkel with sea turtles. A few other tips: Poipu Beach, and Lydgate Park Beach are great for small kids. The Costco membership is probably worth getting, even if you only stay a week or two. (Bottle of rum from Rum Factory was $8 more than same bottle at Costco). And final tip- this house is worth renting!
Owner response:Aloha and Mahalo to our guests from cold Milwaukee. I am so glad you chose to stay at beautiful Poipu Villa Vista. I appreciate your tips and suggestions....however if it was not for the "steep driveway" the views would not be so lovely! Please return and we know your suggestions will come in handy for future guests! Best Regards! Owner

This was our first time to Kauai and our first time staying in a vacation rental home and I must say it will not be the last time for either one. We especially enjoyed our stay in Poipu Villa, it was everything Lynn said it was and more. We had coffee on the Lanai every morning, watched the sun come up over the ocean and listened to the waves crash, amazing views! The home was immaculate and very comfortable, casual elegance, with and Island feel. Plenty of space for large families, lots of private areas even for the kids. Short, beautiful walking paths to the beach and to the nearby resort. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway. Thank you Lynn.

Our family absolutely loved Poipu Villa Vista! The listing and pictures accurately reflect everything about the home. It is beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and has all the comforts of home. My husband and I enjoyed being here with all the kids and grandkids, yet enjoying the privacy of our own accommodations in the master suite. We enjoyed having our own entrance through the garden area and enjoyed our early morning soaks in the hot tub while everyone else was still asleep. We would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful island of Kauai. We are already planning our next trip!
Owner response:Aloha to our wonderful guests. You were such a pleasure to work with and invite you to return to beautiful Kauai. We are so glad your family trip was such a pleasant one!

Poipu Villa was great! The home was as described in the listing and met and exceeded expectations. Our party of 5 was very comfortable and the home could definitely accomodate for more. It was clean and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the island of Kauai. We loved Poipu beach, brunch at the Hyatt, and sunset dinner at the Beach House. There are many wonderful things to do and the greatest was whale watching. We could even see whales from the lanai at the home. Thank you!

This house is amazing! When my daughter saw it for the first time she yelled "It's a castle!" The owner and her management team are very responsive and helpful, any issues were minor and resolved quickly. It is in a perfect location to beaches, bars, fine dining and shopping. Our experience was fabulous and we will be sure to contact Lynn and her team the next time we make it to Kauai!

This was my first ever VRBO rental and of course I was a bit nervous about it since I was making the arrangements on behalf of my extended family. Kay was great and phoned me to reassure me that everything was on the up and up which made me feel a lot more secure in my choice of this house. The house is just beautiful and is everything that you hope and expect it will be. The only thing that isn't mentioned anywhere is that the driveway is incredibly steep and you have to be very careful about scraping the bumper of your vehicle. I would not have wanted to drive up it but fortunately the guys among us were ok with it. Bill was very easy to get hold of and quickly took care of any small issues that we had. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were ample beach chairs and boogie boards. We had the master suite and it was very beautiful and comfortable but was much more sumptuous than the other bedrooms so if you were travelling with other couples you would have to draw straws for it. We were in Kauai for our son's wedding and so one evening we had 28 people over for supper and there was plenty of room for all, very spacious. All in all, an absolutely wonderful vacation home and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
Owner response:Aloha Melanie, I am so pleased you liked the house and you took the chance and rented with vrbo.com. Kauai is beautiful and there is nothing like staying in a private home. I hope you loved the gorgeous views as well! Congratulations on your son's wedding and am so happy that your family will "forever" have fond memories of this special event! Please come and again and i really appreciate your comment! Mahalo, Lynn

We enjoyed the cool trade wind breezes. Lauai at the Hyatt was great. A perfect way to celebrate anniversaries and a birthday. Enjoyed the Lady Luck ride to the Napili Coast. Aug.1-8, 2009 What a wonderful way place to spend our 24th year anniversary-Loved waking up to the gorgeous view on the lanai. can't believe we never had our picture taken with such a beautiful back ground. Time goes by too fast..you have to do things when you think of them! It was great to be able to keep in touch with our Canadan family by phone so there were no worries on either end. Never used the pool as the beaches were so much fun on both North and South shore. We truly hope to be back one day- Thank You (Mahalo)for opening up your gorgeous home to visitors. I don't think we would ever leave it if it was ours! Hope I will read this one day!

Sept. 9-23, 2009 We loved staying at Poipu Villa Vista and we hope we get to come back again and soon! The house is lovely and perfact for our group- especially us with our two small children (almost 4 and one). We were especially appreciative od all the little kid stuff-high chair, pac'n'play, inflatable tousfor the pool, stroller, they were awesome. We also loved that we were so close to Poipu Beach!, that we had access to a pool. I should say our kids loved that too. Our son always wanted to walk to either place which is not something he usually want to do. In fact, he has had so much fun here, he has told us repeatally he would like to move to Hawaii. I'm hating thar we have to leave today but we have had a wonderful time here and it was a beautiful place to celebrate our 10th anniversary. P.S. The board games were a bigh hit too, our son now loved Candyland and Chess

The smallest (2) enjoyed Salt pond as well. We enjoyed the Saferi helicoptor tour of the island and the zip-line Kayak adventures. The house wa great with plenty of space for all and a kitchen which allowed us to make fantastic food for our group of 11. Perfect! Mahalo!!

We enjoyed your fabulous home. Poipu is one of our favorite spots. The weather was gorgeous and the breezes wonderful. We saw many turtles and even seals at Brenneke's and Poipu beaches. Went on a fantastic catamaran trip up the Napali Coast where we saw spinner dolphins, colorful fish and eel. The older "kids" has blast at Kipu Falls and the younger kids loved Saltpond Beach for swimming and bodysurfing. We has a special 50th Wedding Anniversary for our parnets at the Smith's Luau. The entire family enjoyed the gounds, food, and show. Coming back to your beautiful home each day made our vacation even better. Mahalo The Menice family

Aloha, Thank you so much for allowing us to stay. This house made us feel like we were on MTV real world. We are going to miss the beautiful view that we woke up to every morning and the 5 minute drive to the beach. It's hilarious how none of us figured how to get the fans to run faster until 2 days before our departure (hee-hee) For our last dinner together we are at Yum-Cha and our first Pouka dogs. We all are going to miss this place and the beautiful island. If another oppourtuniy comes up for to do it again, we'd love to stay here. Every thing we needed was pretty much available to us, even alarm clocks. We liked the roosters rooting in the morning, the monk seals are adorable too. Take a stroll through manicured grounds to the beach, gorge on a variety of delicious food just minutes away (don't forget the ice cream at Lapperts), and have some fun--like zip lining. The kitchen and dining area is very large and open. Great For entertaining. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the lower portion of the home for our vacation in Nov. 2007. The nearby beach was great for our beginner boogie-boarder and cozy so that we could keep a good eye on our younger daughter- we also had a good hour with a sea turtle who also likes this beach - he was swimming with us! The home was perfect size for all of us, nicely furnished and had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. We were so comfortable there. Our family left the home/island with memories of a lifetime. Thank you to the home owner for a great stay. We'll be back :) Highly recommended place!
