Hua Hin condo description
This ground floor condominium comfortably accommodates 8 people. It is extremely well appointed and offers a high level of comfort and convenience. The many comforts offered make it a home-away-from-home, such as an easy-to-use kitchen, libraries of books and DVDs, spacious terraces for alfresco meals and sunbathing as well as expansive lawns, palms, flowers and plentiful bird life. In addition, guests have access to all the golf club’s facilities, including two restaurants, a very large pool and comprehensive sports centre. It combines the home-style living of a self-catering holiday with all the facilities of a 5-star hotel.
About the property: The golf course is set in one of the most picturesque parts of Thailand. Its stunningly beautiful vistas include both mountain and sea views. Palm fringed fairways, lush carpeted greens, lakes, exotic flowers and majestic trees complete the picture.
In particular, the large terraces from the three main bedrooms and the living area all look out through the trees to the 12th fairway and the Phetchburi mountain range beyond. Living right on the course is serene and peaceful, just the place for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Fantastic restaurants, great shopping opportunities at factory outlets, a lively night market and the many bars and nightclubs provide a lively contrast to the serenity of the accommodation.
The property retains its Thai atmosphere, with genuine teak and rattan furniture throughout. At the same time, its light-coloured furnishings and walls, spaciousness and large windows give it a bright and airy feel.
HUA HIN and its environs: Hua Hin used to be just a small fishing village, and that legacy is still apparent today. The fishing boats unload their catch on a daily basis much as they have always done. It is no surprise that the town has numerous restaurants specialising in fish dishes cooked in both Thai and international styles.
Hua Hin was the first beach resort in Thailand, made popular in the 1920s when the King built a summer palace here. The King still lives in Hua Hin for much of the year, and the town retains its relaxed old-world charm.
Additional activities include a visit to the recently opened floating market, a winery up in the hills with its excellent restaurant, elephant rides through the forest and water, shopping at several large factory outlets and relaxing massages, manicures, pedicures etc all add to the joys of a Hua Hin holiday.
The surrounding countryside remains unspoilt and its exploration is a rewarding experience. Of particular interest are two Nature Parks - rain forests that are home to monkeys, deer, antelopes, elephants, swarms of butterflies, etc. Nature trails offer the opportunity for trekking, bird watching, photography, caving and a study of the area’s ecosystems.
Whether you are a golfer, beachgoer, hiker or naturalist, this is a holiday home for you.

About the owner: We, Kate and Graham Mead, are retired University lecturers and have been living in Hong Kong since 1974. When we decided to remain in Hong Kong after retiring, we felt we would like somewhere to go that is readily accessible for holidays. We had already spent a number of holidays in Thailand and had always enjoyed them. We had especially enjoyed those in Hua Hin, and so it was there that we decided to buy our holiday home. We particularly like Hua Hin because it still has the charm of the little fishing town that it once was. One can still watch the fishing boats unload their catch each morning just as they have done for centuries past. That same atmosphere pervades the whole town. It is said that part of the reason that Hua Hin remains a relatively low-key town is that the King has his summer residence there. The King is highly respected in Thailand and the people are very conscious of his presence. If this does contribute to the character of the town, then long may it last! Hua Hin’s population has grown considerably in recent years and the traffic is busy at certain times of the week but, for the most part, it is still the same relaxed and free-and-easy seaside town. There are no parking meters (yet), and the rules of the road in the town are generally honoured by their breach. At the same time, Hua Hin offers all the conveniences and comforts required by holidaymakers. These are described in some detail elsewhere on this website. Of particular note, though, and one of the main reasons that we chose Hua Hin as the location for our holiday home, is the food. A wide range of cuisines is available, but we particularly like Hua Hin’s seafood. A balmy evening spent in the open air on one of the piers, eating the well-prepared fish or prawn dishes and drinking the local beer, is a delight of which we never tire. Having decided that our holiday home would be in Hua Hin, we chose a condo in Palm Hills as our purchase. The reasons are given below.
Why the Owner Chose Hua Hin:
Having spent considerable time looking around Hua Hin, we eventually decided upon a condominium at Palm Hills. Our reasons were numerous and varied. The most important deciding factor was the general ambience of the place. Most of the properties we looked at were in anonymous high-rise buildings and often in noisy locations. We didn’t want that. We wanted a quiet location with green, open views. We also wanted to be near the sea and within easy access to Hua Hin town. Other items on our wish list, such as the availability of a large swimming pool, tennis courts and a gym, and close proximity to one or more restaurants, were secondary issues. Even so, Palm Hills met all these conditions, so we bought it. Since 2003 we have spent many holidays there. Indeed, we spend as much time as we can in our Hua Hin home but cannot be away from Hong Kong for more than a few weeks each year. It became quite a concern to us that our lovely property at Palm Hills was not being enjoyed as it should be, if not by us then by anyone else. Consequently, we decided to make it available to people who wanted to rent a place with the advantages that our home offers. Hence this advertisement. Our condo is not for people who are looking for the racy nightlife offered in other parts of Thailand, such as in Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya. Hua Hin isn’t that sort of place. It does have a bar district but is limited in size and pretty low-key. Its chief night-time attraction is the food. On the other hand, holidaymakers who are looking for a quiet place where their children can play safely, or which is just a short drive from one or more of Thailand’s welcoming beaches, will find this place ideal. Again, holidaymakers who are keen golfers can tee-off just a short walk from the condo’s front door. Moreover, holidaymakers who are just looking for a quiet place to relax, albeit with easy access to the town when required, will find that this is just the place for them.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Having spent numerous holidays in a variety of Asian countries over the years, we believe that our condo offers a number of unique benefits that it would be hard to find elsewhere. That’s not to say that other holiday locations do not offer their own particular attractions – whether it be a warm climate, the proximity of long unspoilt beaches, the prevalence of exotic flora and fauna, the numerous golf courses nearby, the national parks and their wildlife, the local cuisine, the quiet and relaxed atmosphere – but to find all these in one place is, we believe, unique. Take the beaches. While the one adjoining the town centre is very popular, most others (such as the one nearest to Palm Hills) are virtually empty. The sand is soft and clean, sloping gently into the warm water, making a day at the seaside for the whole family a real pleasure. For those who prefer a more active type of seaside holiday, various water sports are available, including jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and night fishing. Consider the two nearby national parks. These are rain forests and, as one would expect is such an environment, contain a diverse collection of trees, dozens of mammal species (e.g. elephants, leopards and deer), some 400 bird species and swarms of butterflies. The parks provide a superb educational opportunity for families interested in understanding nature in an unspoilt environment. Consider too the golfing opportunities. There are some 10 golf courses of international standard in and around Hua Hin. Our guests don’t even need to leave Palm Hills to have a great holiday. The condo is set up with everything needed for a self-catering stay. Children can play safely on the spacious lawns, and the Sports Club has a large pool, a well-appointed gym and opportunities to play tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash and snooker. In short, we believe that this combination of facilities and activities provides a unique holiday opportunity for our guests.
