In a quiet part of this unique, gated beach community, Champagne Cove is a well-appointed oceanfront home with a beautiful in-ground pool and many other exciting features. It is a 3-minute walk to the clear, warm Champagne Pond and is also located near Kapoho Bay and the ocean for swimming and snorkeling.
Champagne Cove offers two separate accommodations with a totally private tropical experience: the 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath ground-floor portion called the Ohana, which opens directly to the pool and barbecue area, and the 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath main house upstairs, which has views overlooking the pool area to the ocean.
The huge private pool, adjacent barbecue area, and garden surroundings are for the exclusive use of guests at Champagne Cove. The nearby Champagne Pond, a geothermally heated crystal-clear lagoon, is sheltered from the surf, provides incredible snorkeling and swimming, and is only a 3-minute walk away. There is also a popular geothermally heated pond called Ahalanui (the “Hot Pond”) about 2 miles away.
Whales can be seen off-shore in season and sea turtles visit year ’round. You will see sunrises as you never imagined, and even though the sun sets on the other side of the Island, the sky over Kapoho comes alive with spectacular colors!
Champagne Cove is completely furnished to supply all of your home-away-from-home needs. There is a fully equipped kitchen plus a charcoal barbecue grill outside. The master bedroom has a king bed and half bath. The home has ceiling fans, satellite TV, high-speed Internet, phone and covered parking. Sliding glass doors open to the private pool area and a lovely ocean view. There is a gazebo for outdoor dining and chairs and shade umbrellas for poolside lounging.
We’re on the Hilo side of the Big Island, about a 25-minute drive south of Hilo. Normal weather is beautiful all day with the occasional rain-squall to cool things off, and then it often rains at night to keep your garden fresh and green. We also enjoy what is reputed to be the cleanest air on the planet.
We would like to emphasize that there are no traditional white sandy beaches anywhere near here. There are many safe places to get into the clear, warm ocean, but remember that this is basically a rocky coastline.
This really is an awesome place. Kapoho is the warmest, sunniest spot on the windward side of the island. Here you will experience beauty and tranquility with a rare taste of lovely “old Hawaii.” |
