Casa Mural--Charming, Affordable. 1.5 Blocks to Beach!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
Affordable Casa Mural offers the BEST LOCATION in town, north of the river, 1.5 blocks from the beach, three from restaurants and shops near the Plaza. It's a charming, spacious, Mexican-style home with beamed ceilings, arched doorways, large windows and lovely, colorful murals on the walls. We pride ourselves on offering a very nice home at a reasonable price.
Walls are thick stucco, the interior cool and quiet. Every room has excellent ventilation, screens, and ceiling fans. All mattresses are new. Kitchen large, well equipped.
Large covered veranda offers comfortable outside seating for relaxing and dining. Large yard is quiet, peaceful, shaded by mango, lime, coconut, and banana trees. They're prolific in season, so help yourself! Washer and dryer on site.
House and yard entirely walled and gated, you'll feel very secure and private. Safe provided for valuables. Because Casa Mural is ideally located, no need to rent a car (not on a mountainside, as so many of Sayulita’s rental houses are, so no steep hills to climb). However, we do have garage parking.
Our property manager speaks English and lives right across the street!
Casa Mural is comfy, clean, and functional. There are box games, puzzles, cards, and books to read in the cupboards, so pack light --simply come, relax, enjoy!
Fresh sheets, towels, and purified drinking water are provided. If you prefer to eat in, but not to cook, we can provide caterers.
We provide a safe, WiFi, beach chairs, umbrellas and 2 boogie boards for you to take to the beach (deposit required). We will send you a comprehensive, 18 page packet that includes activities, information on local transportation and communication options, the best restaurants, beaches, medical emergency info, etc...
Air conditioning is available June through September. Because of the thick stucco walls, excellent ventilation, and ceiling fans in every room, you won't need it during most of the year.
Comments from recent guests:
'Everything was wonderful at Casa Mural. Your home is beautiful and comfortable and we felt very safe there with the nice walls, etc...By the way, the setup of the rooms with the 'little apartment' separate kitchen and bathroom was excellent. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home.'
Alex Paul - Portland, Oregon
'We very much enjoyed staying seven weeks in Casa Mural. It has arched, Mexican charm and we especially enjoyed the veranda and walled-in back area. We spent many hours enjoying the great weather and relaxing in the shade of the veranda. The location of the house is great. A short walk to beach or downtown area. We hope to stay again soon.'
Gary and Judy Harnetiaux - Lake Ozark, Missouri
'Casa Mural is close to everything, but is located on a quiet street. It is very nicely decorated, and it was large enough to easily accommodate all 7 of us.'
Brenda Waldrop, Seattle, WA
'My family had an extraordinary vacation in Sayulita! The location, the house, the people were all that we had hoped for and more. If we had gone to a typical resort we would have been separated by hotel rooms. At your home we were able to relax, cook, sit around the table and talk about our lives, our hopes, our plans. We were able to reconnect in the most amazing way.'
Diane Merrick, Durango, CO
'TRULY , we loved Casa Mural - the location and back yard were
ideal. It really worked out perfect. We truly relaxed and spent quality time with our family....thanks for sharing your great casa -- and we LOVED Sayulita -- we do want to return again. I will certainly recommend your place.'
Ann Marie, Alaska
'Our family of 6, from 3 generations, had a wonderful time and a huge part of it was how comfortable and welcome we felt at Casa Mural! The bedrooms are nicely separated, quiet and private from each other. The location couldn't be better. We'll be back!'
The Cornwall Family, Sacramento, CA
'A huge thanks for renting your gorgeous home in Sayulita to us. No surprises, house was exactly as pictured on the site, all the restaurants you recommended were fabulous, distances to everything was perfect, and we were relaxed and comfortable every minute of every day. Would love to reserve right now for next year. We had a great time, the perfect vacation.'
The Mostovoy Family
'Thank you very much for letting myself and my friends stay at your house. Your place was absolutely fantastic. It was clean, tidy and very comfortable. We had a great time relaxing and having margaritas on the terrace!! We also met your friendly-iguana!!!
I will certainly recommend your place!'
Janine Nixon, New ZealandCasa
'Mural is spacious and comfortable, with an easy walk to town or the beach making it a great location! We had a wonderful holiday and having Casa Mural as our home away-from-home was a good experience. The washing machine is a nice feature, especially for longer stays; we really appreciated the barbeque and the fully equipped kitchen for those nights we chose to eat at home.'

Casa Mural in Sayulita is so close in that no car is necessary and the beach is a very short walk away If you use Jose Ramos taxi service from the airport he will take you to a beautiful supermarket, MEGA. You can stock up on all you will need for a week at Casa Mural. Don't overbuy because the restaurants are close, wonderful and reasonable. The house is roomy and an authentic Mexican house in design and furnishings. We had such fun being in a small beach town and a real neighborhood away from the resorts and fast food. Renting a golf cart for a half day gave us time to travel all the back streets and taking the local bus to Bucieras gave us a chance to see a nearby town. A local fiesta in Sayulita was a special treat, and the parade went right by the house. We sat out on our chairs and enjoyed it all. The Queen of the event lived right across the street, a most beautiful young girl. You won't be sorry if you choose Casa Mural in Sayulita. It is helpful that the owner lives in the US and is easy to contact and is willing to answer any questions you may have. He also provides detailed written information to his renters.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: It was a pleasure having you, Maureen. Thanks for your kind words about Casa Mural. We look forward to having you back again one day in the future. Hasta pronto.

Can't wait to return! The condo was very spacious, private veranda, and warm and traditional Mexican interior styling. Within walking distance to everything, centrally located. Safe, well lit, and so comfortable. Highly recommend for a woman enjoying a vacation alone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Steve, want to thank-you for renting us your home in Sayulita. It was everything as promised, we are a family of five and our three "20some" children are scattered around the country and we wanted the opportunity to bring everyone together in a relaxed, secure yet stimulating environment....your home did exactly that. One of the amazing Sayulita surfbreaks is a two minute barefoot walk down the street. Probably the best kept secret in town, the restaurant "Chiles & Margaritas" is right across the street it is run by your property manager Lorenzo and family who not only fed us some of the best food we have ever had but took great care of us and answered our every question. We loved the little neighbourhood that your house was located,it was a perfect mix of genuine Sayulita/Mexican style. Our family would amble the 4 or 5 minute walk(sometimes barefoot) to the village plaza for wonderful coffee, drinks and people watching. My children loved the outdoor action at nights both on the beach and at the many pub/restaurants around the main square. We always felt safe in your home and Sayulita. Towards the end of the week I felt that we had become residents, lots of the locals remembered us and I even felt respect from the locals in the surf. Thanks once again for allowing us the opportunity to make this family vacation one we will always fondly remember.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Andrew, thanks for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you at the Casa Mural. Please come back again! Steve and Edna Heath

Have just enjoyed a wonderful stay at Casa Mural, everything about the house far exceeded my expectations! I can't say enough about the great location after seeing many of the steep climbs to other rentals, and I felt safe and comfortable walking to all restaurants and shops day or evening. The house is perfect for families, very spacious and comfortable and truly charming as well with the murals and veranda and arches. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! The best surprise was how great Sayulita is with wonderful people and eclectic shops and fabulous food! Staying in Casa Mural was by far the best way to get to know this lovely area. And the beach is beautiful! A perfect vacation, thank you so much for the great "extras" like the beach chairs and boogie boards!! Very thoughtful! I look forward to coming back soon J. W. I went to Sayulita with a group of friends this past March and we really had the most fabulous time, in large part due to staying the week at Casa Mural. Not only is this house inviting and spacious, but the location is perfectly situated - a block from the beach and three or four blocks to the center of town. There is a wonderful eatery right across the street and so much to explore right outside of the doors of this lovely home. We felt so comfortable staying here it really made our vacation that much more enjoyable and relaxing. The owner was also very helpful and informative, and I felt, really wanted to ensure that our experience while staying Casa Mural was as positive as possible. I am anticipating a return trip to Sayulita and staying at Casa Mural!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We are just back from Sayulita - sigh - and wanted to say a big thanks for letting us rent your beautiful home at Casa Mural. We had a lovely holiday and had a hard time leaving. Everything at the house was so comfortable and cozy, and we took full advantage of walking to numerous beaches many times a day, or downtown to get groceries or use the internet. I wanted to let you know that you are the proud caretaker of 4, perhaps 5 iguanas now... babies? They got more used to us the longer we were there and would take to sunning themselves on the rocks by the back deck, not to mention gorging themselves on overripe mangos that were falling by the number each day. There are also at least 3-4 different geckos inside the home taking care of the place! Also, wanted to let you know what a great job John did taking care of us while we were there, and also the gardener, Fabian. What a wonderful person. Casa Mural sure is a special home, in a lovely neighborhood of people.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We had an absolutely lovely time in Sayulita. It was the perfect place to celebrate my 30th birthday with 6 girlfriends. The house had plenty of space and a great outdoor area for sipping cocktails and enjoying the evenings! We really liked the location and proximty to the beach. It is a very short 3 block walk into town and a couple blocks down to the beach. The restaurant across the street is a must-visit...go early during you stay because you will want to return each night! Also don't forget to sample the AMAZING margaritas next door at the Secret Spot--tamarind and chile. Need I say more?Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time at Casa Mural. Both the owner and the manager were extremely helpful before our arrival, particularly since we had questions about small children. It is a very convenient location, and we went to and from the beach with ease (and appreciated the faucet in the front yard, as we always returned covered in sand). The waves were quite big while we were there - perhaps thanks to the earthquake in Chile - but we walked down the beach closer to town, and found places suitable for the little ones. Our favorite eating place was the restaurant right across the street!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.
