  This apartment ticks all the boxes... it is beautifully decorated with a modern twist, the beds are wonderfully comfortable & the pillows are to die for. The location is ideal, an easy walk to the local thermal pools, botanic gardens and town centre. The view over the fjord is breathtaking..keep an eye out in the evening for the flashing neon heart. And as a bonus for families with children is the fantastic playground at the end of the street...my children spent many hours enjoying the facilities and were lucky enough to befriend some local children. Akureyri is perfectly located for exploring the northern Iceland.

  We are a family of six with children aged (12yrs, 7yrs, 2 yrs and 1yr). This apartment is in an ideal location as it is only a couple of minutes from a great playground and only a five minute walk to the fantastic Akureyri swimming pool. The apartment is also a short walk to the beautiful Botanic Gardens and the main street of Akureyri which has some great shops, restaurants and cafes. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Our requests for cribs were met and all was in place for our arrival. After several days of travelling it was great to have a washing machine available. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others. The listing is accurate and the photos represent the apartment well. The owner facilitated a whale watching trip which was very successful and at a very good price. We found Akureyri to be a great location as a base for day trips and also a town with a lot to see and do locally. We would definitely come back again.

  My friend and I just spent 3 nights in this beautiful apartment. After the long drive in the dark from Reykjavik, we were delighted to walk into this 'homey' warm and ultra comfortable apartment. It was even more of a surprise in the morning to open the curtains and have a superb view of the sea from the bedroom, kitchen and lounge windows. The apartment is so easy to find from anywhere in the town as one only needs to look out for the tall church and you are there. It is also very well situated nearby cafe's, restaurants, shopping centre and petrol station. Andreas was so helpful in planning our trip before we even arrived, providing us with helpful tips about seeing the Northern Lights, where to hire a car and even sending us a picture of the latest Northern Lights sighting a few days before our departure. Andreas also arrived at the apartment on the second day to check everything was fine and help us out with even more with ideas of where to explore. We were very lucky to witness the Northern Lights in two consecutive nights, so feel very spoilt! I would definitely recommend visiting this wonderful place and staying in Andreas's apartment.   Our family rented this house in Akureyri in September 2011 for a week. We have 2 young kids (ages 4 and 1), and this was the perfect place for us. It's a 5 minute walk from downtown, and in a quiet area of town. There's a park for the kids 1 block away, and the swimming pool is around the corner. The house was very clean, had a great hot tub, and a nice backyard with a BBQ and views of the fjord. Andreas was very helping during our stay, and assisted us with rental cars, and a whale watching trip. He also provided a baby crib and high chair, which was very helpful as we didn't need to bring this with us. I would highly recommend renting this house in Akureyri, and we will definitely stay there again when we return. Steve Day Canada

  We had a superb stay in this apartment. There is nothing to fault with the whole package - a well positioned apartment in a quiet street, yet only a brief and pleasant stroll to the city centre (via a children’s playground!) It was spacious enough for six of us, well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable holiday, very clean and well presented. We had a lovely welcome from Andreas, who even met us at the airport, and enjoyed a fantastic few days in this beautiful area of Iceland. Would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment and indeed, plan to return!

  Spent but 2 nights at this wonderful property during a 10 day multi-town hop around Iceland and I must say that this property topped them all - and not by a small bit. One of th eimmediate things that struck me was the pleasant neighborhood - quiet and residential while only a short walk to the town's city centre via the stairs in front of the church. From the amenities point of view - complete and although I did not get to use the hot tub, believe that it would be a great value add for a traveling couple or family (was traveling solo). But in my opinion, it all comes down to service which in the case of Andreas was top notch from the initial email exchange through to the pick-up and return to the airport. Thanks Andreas for a great property as well as for a memorable stay. So if interested in a renting a spot in Akureyri I would highly recommend this property.

  We visited Akureyri the first week of June and stayed in the 2nd floor apartment. It is a great place, warm, light and practical. It is walking distance to the school play ground, where my kids (4, 7, 9) found some nice local kids to play with. It is also walking distance to downtown Akureyri and its cute stores and restaurants. Andreas is very friendly and always available and if not, quick to respond. He was helpful in organizing a couple of outings for us and giving us tips. We had a fabulous time and hope to come back - for the northern lights! ;) Nicole & family

  Wir (7 Freunde/inen) fühlten uns hier 3 Nächte sehr wohl. Super Lage, schöne Wohngung und im Jacuzzi genossen wir die pure Entspannung! Die Übernhame war sehr unkompliziert obwohl wir erst gegen 22:30 ankamen. Die Besitzer konnten wir auch kurz kennenlernen sehr sympatisches Schweizer Pärchen.

  Wir waren als Familie 2 Wochen in der Ferienwohnung. Unsrere Erwartungen wurden weit übertroffen. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll und auf hohem Niveau eingerichtet!! Von Kaffeemaschine bis DVD Player.. alles vorhanden :-) Auch das wunderschöne, neue Jacuzzi ist der Hit !!!! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend :-) Gelegen ist die Wohnung etwa 5 Gehminuten vom Zentrum entfernt an einer sehr ruhigen Lage.. Auch das öffentliche Bad ist in 3 Gehminuten zu erreichen... Vielen Dank für alles!! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!!!

  Beautiful house, in the center of the town, full equiped. We recommend this house.

  Owner response: Gracias, it is in the centre of the town and at the same time it is such a quiet residential area amidst gardens that you feel like being in the countryside. It is very convenient as the charming town centre with its restaurants, cafés and bookstore, the amazing Botanical garden, the main monument Akureyri church, the swimming pool, the grocery store(open until 11pm) are all only a few steps away. And last but not least - the wonderful view of the fjord whilst you are dining or cooking or going to sleep...bienvenidos.
