Bring your family and friends to this light-filled home just one short block from historical downtown Saugatuck, a beautiful Lake Michigan resort town with a vibrant arts scene. Gorgeous Saugatuck Dunes State Park, with miles of wooded trails and a long stretch of white-sand beach (some of the Midwest's finest hiking and cross-country skiing), is minutes away by car.
The entrance foyer, living room, dining room, den, and eat-in kitchen flow together in the classic 50s style. Interior French or pocket doors close for coziness and privacy. We collect art and books and have filled the rooms with both.
Lounge in the flower-filled backyard while the kids climb around in the treehouse with slide and the sand box. Leafy trees provide cooling shade and privacy in the summer, then let in lots of sunshine during the snowy months. The lawns and flower gardens are maintained organically, making them safe for your children - and everyone else.
Leave your car in the driveway and walk everywhere you want to go: unique shops, art galleries, restaurants, Saugatuck Harbor, fire works (New Year's Eve, July 4, and Venetian Festival), live music and theater, art fairs, film festivals, holiday parades, beautiful village parks, and more. The local playground, general store, old-time hardware store, tennis courts, basketball courts - and the best coffee in the world! - are all just a five-minute stroll away.
In season, fill a daypack, cross the river on the quaint pedestrian ferry, then walk or ride your bike to wooded trails, world-class sand dunes, the unparalleled beaches of Lake Michigan, and an award-winning historical museum. Drive a quick five to ten minutes to beautiful beaches, excellent hiking, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing, as well as to wineries and golf courses.
