We loved everything about it! The home is laid out perfectly for our 3 couples(all had king sized beds) and my daughter and her husband had the "suite" upstairs with their baby. The bunk room will be great as we grow! We were close enough to Seaside to walk or ride bikes, but not be in all the hustle the whole time. Close enough for all the best restaurants and a beautiful view of the beach from the rocking chairs on the balcony. Perfect for morning coffee. Just a short walk to the ramp going down to the ocean, but he pool was one of the best things b/c we could take the baby monitor and not miss getting sun! Love the safety alarm on the doors out to the pool for small children, and really loved the family room upstairs. All kinds of movies and games for everyone. It's not only beautiful, but very comfy and they have thought of everything...even a pack-n-play for the baby! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. This was our 2nd time there and we plan to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

What an awesome home!!! Everything was perfect. So clean and comfortable. I can't think of anything that we could have wanted that was not there. I loved sitting on the top porch having coffee in the morning and seeing the beach!! Great restaurants and activities (thanks for all the recommendations!!) are all so close by. This is truly a beautiful area. We will definitely be back. I am also telling my friends about it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow!! What a fantastic vacation. My wife, two teenage daughters (and one brought a friend) and I had the most amazing time. The house was absolutely beautiful! The rooms were huge and the girls spent the first hour going room to room to claim their spots. The entertainment area upstairs was the gathering place the entire trip. We ate dinner together, played games, watched TV and movies and played on our computers. The beach is right across the street and the view from the upstairs porch is wonderful, especially with a cup of coffee in the morning. My wife and I walked each morning to Seaside and had breakfast at the market while the girls chose to ride bikes. The bike paths are everywhere and made it easy for the girls to do things on their own when they chose. In the afternoons my wife and I relaxed at the beach while the girls alternated between the beach and the pool. I have stayed in the Seagrove Beach area a half dozen times but never in such style. If you want a vacation to remember this is the place to stay!! Thanks Stan and AmyRecommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Thanks, Amy & Stan! The house was absolutely perfect. We all commented that the pictures on the listing don't do it justice. It's even more wonderful in person! We had four couples and 6 kids, and we had plenty of room. The BEST part of the house is the enormous open common space upstairs with the kitchen & den. The kitchen is huge with tons of counter space, and it overlooks the den so we could keep an eye on the roaming toddlers. It was so nice that there was a place for all 8 adults to sit in the den without feeling on top of each other. Ditto for the enormous kitchen table. We loved to sit on the porch and look at the ocean. There were lots of places for pack 'n plays, though I recommend bringing a fan or noise machine if you have a bedroom downstairs. (FYI - 3 bedrooms downstairs - 2 kings with private baths and the bunk room with private bath, 2 bedrooms upstairs - king room and two queen room, sharing bath). The ONLY small downside is that the bedrooms upstairs have to share a bath, while there are FOUR full bathrooms downstairs. But each bedroom is really nice. The pool is fabulous - especially after a long day at the beach. And it is just a short walk to the beach. We had a wagon & were able to easily tote beach chairs & toys down the ramp (which is much harder when you just have steps). The location is ideal - super close to Seaside. It's a really great house, and I would definitely rent it again! We loved our stay!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This was the perfect spot for my friends and I to bring our families. There were 5 families and 7 kids under the age of 2. There was plenty of space for all of our toys and pack-n-plays. I have stayed in other houses in the same area and this was by far the best. We had such a good time just hanging out in the big kitchen and at the pool. We are going to be coming back, when our kids are little bit older!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The entire family loved every minute of living at Vacherie this week. Mackenzie, 10, said it best: I [heart] this house best of all! We've stayed in several VRBO homes, but this one fit us best of all, from the spacious pool room just perfect for endless games of Wii, to the wide-open family area where we cooked, ate and painted pictures. We did have a mishap - a plastic pitcher broke, so we replaced it with a palm-tree pitcher to match the gorgeous trees in the front lawn. The balcony with rocking chairs was a huge hit with adults seeking a few minutes solace from our madding crowd. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful vacation place. Know that we'll be in touch for a return visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Vacherie was just the perfect place for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving and my 70th..ouch...birthday.....We've rented other places over the years and I can say without reservation that Vacherie immediately impressed me with the cleanliness and superb condition of everything both inside and out!!! Sometimes these places are a little "worn around the edges" but you all do a wonderful job with ongoing maintenance to provide an A+ property for your guests! The floorplan was great...we loved the privacy of the master being on the first floor...away from the early morning sounds in the kitchen area as I had a week holiday from all cooking!! The bunk room and other bedroom downstairs were great for our grandchildren and the parents of our youngest who is 2 1/2....He got to "bunk" in with his big cousins but still his parents were in close proximity!!! We spent lots and lots of time in and around the pool..After one little blip on the first day...which Andy responded to in about 5 minutes...the heated pool was just the ticket after a trip to the beach...since we did have surfers and kayakers they loved to go from the rather chilly waters to the warmth of the pool. Some of us just enjoyed the very ample seating and lounging areas poolside! All in all I couldn't imagine any other house working so well for us...when someone wanted to "get lost" from the crowd everyone had their own private suites....and as you had assured me the kitchen was outfitted to the hilt for our Thanksgiving meal.... Enuf said....WE LOVED IT AND WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WE KNOW WHO MIGHT THINK OF HEADING THAT DIRECTION!! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season!Did you find this review helpful? Loved the house and location. Short walk to beach with easy access. Floor plan of the house was one of the best we have seen. All bedrooms and baths were spacious and perfect with 3 bedrooms (master and kids bunk room) on the first floor with 2 large bedrooms on 2nd floor. Open concept of kitchen/dining/den area on the 2nd floor with balcony overlooking the gulf was great. All amenities including the pool table, gas grill, pool, kayak were put to good use by Team Langston.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house was great. We had a group of 14, 6 adults and 8 kids. We've rented big beach houses in Seagrove for 7 years now and this one was our favorite overall. The pool area is nice and the walk to the beach is short. The upstairs living area is very large which allowed the whole group to enjoy the area at once which is nice. But the thing that puts this house over the top is the pool table. The kids loved and the adults too. Probably try to rent again next year.Did you find this review helpful? The property was great. We had plenty of room and the walk to the beach was short and easy. We drove up and down 30-A to see the other communities and were thrilled to be in Seagrove. We loved the outdoor shower and the kids used it often after the beach. Even when the neighbors were outside at their pool, there was plenty of privacy. I liked being able to walk to the fitness classes just down the road. We also found a great restaurant, Angelina's within walking distance. Thanks for a great vacation. I will recommend this house and community again and again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The home was very comfortable for a large group. There were 8 adults and 7 children and we had plenty of room. The pool area was great, especially for the young children we had with us. We enjoyed renting bikes, swimming and kayaking. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have taken in some time. The landscaping was very well done and made it very enjoyable while sitting out on the decks and front porch. We really enjoyed sitting upstairs on the deck and letting the little ones run around with no access to stairs. We did a lot of people watching. They did a lot of looking as they went by too, the house is beautiful. I was dreading the walk across the street to the beach, but it really was not bad. We usually stay on the beach side of the road, so weren't sure about the trek to the beach. It was nice having the ramp to the beach so we could roll the wagon with all our stuff in it so we didn't have to carry it. The kitchen was very well equipped. The dishwasher was not working the week we were there, but there was plenty of soap to wash. We cooked in almost every meal since we had so many little ones and the kitchen was a great size. It's a great place to stay. We enjoyed it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

While being regulars to the South Walton 30-A area, this was the 1st big house I'd rented there. Two of my brothers & families (14 in all) made the trek through LA -- Lower AL -- :-) to the most beautiful sandy beaches and emerald green water Florida has to offer. While the weather didn't exactly cooperate the way we wanted (it got down in the low 40's several nights .... brrrr) the house definitely helped make up for it. Vacherie has big, comfortable bedrooms, a wonderful upstairs patio with great ocean views and best of all a huge, open kitchen/dining room/living room that was wonderful for cooking a couple of huge meals while everyone can relax and hang out. The pool table got a work out as well -- very nice. When the sun finally came out, it's a very short walk down the ramp to the beach. We took the two-man kayak out and had a blast on it, too. The house was cleaned and ready before check-in time and it was so nice not having to mess with check-in agents, key returns and paperwork. Andy provided everything we needed, too. The tankless hot water system in the house is fantastic considering we had a lot of girls taking really long showers at the same time. The young kids had a blast in the bunk room too. I would definitely return here for another large gathering or recommend this place to anyone seeking the same.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We take our grandchildren and their parent to the beach every summer and this is the first year that the house was purfect. My grandaughter even said, "granny, next year can we stay at the same house, it was the best ever." I love to cook, so finding a kitchen with everything in it was a joy. And to watch everything going on around you and the ocean too, could not have been better. One night we were watching a movie and the lights were all off, and we had the sound up, be we didn't know we had the outside speakers on, and one of had just come back from town, they said they could here it before they even got out of the car. Hope the neighbors didn't mind. The pool was perfect and I loved that there were alarms at the doors so children couldn't go out without the someone knowing it. Because we had a 3 and 4 year old that love the water, so that was great. We always bring garbage bags, paper towels, coffee filter, etc. This is the first house every that had those things. The best supplied kitchen in Florida. I had changed my mind several time on which house to rent, and Dan was so good and understanding and helping me to make things work. And I loved just going right to the house, not having to go to a rental place first. Thank You So Much Gayle and Jeff BusbyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We rented Vacherie in May 2006 with two other couples and brought the grandparents along with us as babysitters! All together, there were 8 adults and 6 children. We had plenty of room for everyone! The master suite downstairs was beautiful and spacious. The walk-in closet had plenty of room for a pack & play for one baby. We were also able to fit a pack & play in the closet of the other king bedroom downstairs so the babies almost had their own rooms! The house is decorated beautifully! The thing we liked most of all was that we felt comfortable there. Everything in the house is top quality. The bath towels were white and fluffy and the bed linens were soft and luxurious. This definately was not your "typical beach house where the owners put all their leftovers in it"! The kitchen was also well stocked. We had wonderful communication with the owner that lives in the area. He called and stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. From a safety standpoint, we also appreciated the door alarm for the back doors to the pool area. We look forward to visiting again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dan/Andy- Thanks so much for letting us stay at your house. It was a great time. The house is perfect for two families. With such a nice kitchen, it's hard to leave to go out to eat. We've been coming to the area for the last 20 years and this was probably the nicest house we've stayed at. It's convenient to Seaside. PCB and Destin aren't too far away, if you need to go to the big city... We had great weather for March, so it made for nice swimming at the beach. It was really nice having such a good beach with access right across the road. The kids (both young and older) had a lot of fun in the sand and water. The decorating is great. And for those that like tv and a great sound sytem, and a nice pool tabe- you're in luck. Thanks again and I hope we can get back again soon. It's hard to believe how fast the week went. You have a really nice house. The O'HallaronsDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Words cannot describe how beautiful Vacherie is. I recently learned that it is named after a Louisiana plantation, and now I know why! Gorgeous, beautifully decorated, fabulous views, and every imaginable amenity. We rented this house sight unseen off the Internet, and I was a little worried...but as soon as we drove up we realized we had made an outstanding choice! We rented both Vacherie and Retreat (two side-by-side homes both rented by the same owner) for my parents' 50th Anniversary celebration and we have unforgettable memories of the experience. The dining room in Vacherie is unbelievable...we had dinners for up to 20+ people there, with 14 seated at the dining table and many others at the kitchen bar. We have rented in the Panhandle/Seaside area for years, and this was BY FAR the nicest place we've ever stayed. It's a vision of teal and pale green, the colors of the sea, with upscale decor and so many special touches. Bikes come with the home, the beach is right across the street, there's a pool table, plasma tvs, wireless internet access....there is something for everyone! What more could you want?? We had three generations in tow (grandparents, kids and grandkids) and it was the best family vacation we've had in the area. You need to rent this home!! The owners are great to work with and will really work with you to accommodate any special request. It is amazing and unforgettable, and we hope to return to the beautiful home and Seagrove Beach in the future. -- LisaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This home provides the perfect beach experience anywhere. Sugar white sand and emerald water awaited us 250ft from the front door. When we returned from the beach, a full-size private pool welcomed us. This house is equipped with broadband wireless internet throughout, along with a 42in plasma screen TV. Two master bdrms, a third additional king bdrm and two additional bdrms are guaranteed to accommodate multiple families. This house is state of the art with an attention to detail. One is made to feel that he/she is in possession of someone's warm personal everyday residence as opposed to a cold stark rental at the beach. This will be the finest accommodations that most will ever experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have rented vacation homes for a number of years in a variety of locations and we have learned that on occasion, a selected home will turn out to be less attractive than pictured or less functional than represented. However, we are pleased to report that the Vacherie Vacation Home not only exceeded our expectations but it was unquestionably more beautiful than the pictures and more remarkable than the description. The home was impeccably furnished throughout in a manner that exuded warmth and hospitality in an engaging Old Florida style. The attention to detail, inside and out, was obvious and very much appreciated (a special thanks for the ample parking area)! Signficantly, the home's charm was matched by its superb layout. The open upstairs family/living area was perfect for the 15 of us to gather for our traditional and treasured family meals and celebration time. The pool was an outstanding and welcomed daytime feature, especially for the kids, and the numerous rocking chairs on the second floor porch were particularly popular with the adults in the evening. Finally, with the unpredictable and unfortunate weather issues, we very much appreciated the outstanding cooperation and accommodation from the owners. We look forward to our return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a great beach house and perfect set up for a group as large as ours(14 people). The decor was tasteful with attention to detail. Seagrove is a nice change from the Destin area. It's not as commercial and has that "old beach" town feel. We will be back again next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Magnificent home! We have vacationed in homes from Destin to Cape San Blas over the past several years and this one is one of the best. The beach at Seagrove is much less crowded compared to Destin (we visited peak season 6/18-6/25/2005) and the shopping and dining were much more accessible than the Cape. The beach access is directly across the street and a 2 minute walk. The private pool was a refreshing cool down after time at the beach. The home is furnished impeccably and kudos to the decorator! We highly recommend this property for you family vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
