  My husband and I really did enjoy our time in Breckenridge, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It was our first time there as we just moved to Colorado just over a year ago. However, it would have been nice to know there's a "mud season" and that 80% of everything would be closed. We will most likely book our travel 2 weeks later, as everyone would be back open May 10, 24, or 31st. Other than that, the cottage was charming and quaint and the amenities were more than accommodating. The only things I would change would be the pillows. They were flat a crackers so didn't really sleep all that well. We did enjoy the convenience of the location to downtown and the ski lifts if we were to return during ski season.

  My husband skiied, I shopped, we both ate and drank. Cottage was clean, warm and super-convenient to everything. My hubby walked to the free gondola every day--about 2-3 minutes away. 4-5 blocks to a grocery store. We woke up to 5 inches of snow one day. But someone was there to shovel it away. Lights at night were beautiful. Cristina was able to accommodate a last-minute reservation. Trip was awesome! I would definitely recommend and stay again!

  We'd never rented via a vacation rental site before, so this was our first experience doing it. Words cannot say how happy we were with this property. It was exactly what we were looking for. The property is located about 300 feet from the base of the Gondola that serves peak 7 and 8, so it was easy access to the mountain. The gondola base is also the location of the Breckenridge Transit Station, another big plus. You can get a DIA airport shuttle package that drops off at the Transit station (instead of drop/pick-up at a specific address) and then simply walk to the cottage. That saved us $28/person one-way, or $112 total. If you drive, there is off-street parking for two vehicles. The cabin is small - i don't think i'd recommend it for more than two people. Maybe three, if you know each other well. The bathroom is 'captured' - industry term for you have to go through the bedroom, from the communal area, to get to it. There is a small couch in the living room that pulls out for the extra person. It is remarkably heat efficient - there is an electric space heater in the kitchen/living area, a gas insert fireplace in the bedroom/vanity area, and an electric baseboard heater in the toilet/shower area. It was 5 below zero on several nights, and we didn't even run the gas insert fireplace. The two electric heaters were enough to keep us warm. The gas insert doesn't have a thermostat on it, so it would have been too warm. There is a nice jacuzzi bath that fits two - we made good use of that. The hot water system was on-demand, and there was never an issue with lack of hot water. The shower is nice - big area with a bench to sit on, and dual shower head system. The caretakers were there shoveling walkways and parking areas at 7am every day it snowed - nice to know they put the extra effort into handling snow issues. Wish our neighbors in Minnesota were as punctual :) The one downside of the cottage is probably the size of the kitchenette - it really is pretty small, with not much counter space. There is a dorm-style refrigerator that doesn't really have an icebox area - so storing ice for cocktails, or frozen pizzas, is out (though there was an ice tray in it). I suppose you could leave these on the back porch if you want. But hey, who comes to Breck for the size of the kitchen? Overall, location, hot water, and diligent caretakers are the three most important elements of a ski trip, in my book. This place has all three.

  We loved staying at Willoughby Cottage for skiing in January 2013. We arrived late at night and the cottage was a little chilly so we turned up the heat and retreated next door to the Blue River Bistro for drinks and snacks. So convenient! We loved: being close to downtown (walk everywhere); being close to the gondola (easy access to skiing); the history of the cottage (built in the 1800's) and mostly we loved the privacy. Plus it was warm and cozy with a really comfortable bed. We'll be back!

  Several times during our stay at the cottage my husband or I would say how much we loved staying there and how perfect it was. The size is just right for two people and the location could not be better. When we arrived we scoped out the surrounding area to get our bearings in where we needed to be for lifts, shopping, etc. Literally you walk around the corner and are on your way up on the gondola to Peak 8 where you can access all the other peaks to ski. You can tell that the owners of this cottage have taken care of it. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back another year! Also the Blue River Bistro is right next door and has a really tasty happy hour...don't miss out! Oh and we also noticed that Christy Sports is right there as well and we wished we would have rented our skies from there , instead of across town.

  Wonderful little cottage all the accommodation's of home. My husband and I got away to Breckenridge for our 22nd anniversary. Weather was just perfect for our time in Breckenridge, we drove up Boreas Pass, and Hoosiers pass. Did some shopping drove int to Dillon and silverthorne. Good places to eat breakfast Day light dounts over all best breakfast not just dounts, extreme piazza was good Bubba. Gumps was great also. If your looking for a romantic little cottage check out this cottage prectfect place to get away and spend time together. Everything was with in walking distance. We will be going back.

  Thank You de Luca Family for letting my husband an I rent your lovely cottage last weekend. The day we arrived was Mark's birthday. We parked the car and walk to everything we needed. Mark said he couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate his day and staying in your cottage was a BIG part of of our weekend. We woke Saturday morning to falling snow. The icing on the birthday cake! The cottage was easy to find, VERY clean, warm, cozy, romantic, the list is endless. We WILL be back!!! Thanks Again, Tammy & Mark Sanders

  Willoughby cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away for a very long over-due vacation. Being right on the Main street of Breckenridge was perfect. Right outside your doorstep was coffee shops, wonderful restaurants and shopping along with the Gondola, bike trail and awesome hiking. The cottage was comfortable, cozy and romantic. We did have a bit of a hard time cooling it down at night but that was solved by using the ceiling fan and another fan available in the bathroom closet. Cristina was wonderful to work with and James and Amanda (caretakers) we also extremely helpful. Especially after I discovered when I got home that I had left an entire cupboard and drawer filled with my under garments (Yikes!) We called James on Sunday to tell him and by Thurs. my things were safely in my drawer at home! We would most definetely come back to the cottage for another vacation. As a side note, for a perfectly romantic dinner visit either The Warming Hut or La Petite Paris!

  Perfect location! The cottage was perfect for the price! The owner was very friendly and pleasant to work with! Also, the restaurant next door was amazing! I will def rent again come ski season!
