Surrounded by olive groves and overlooking the entire Spoleto Valley, this house has been my primary residence for many years. The village of Poreta is small and extremely charming although my neighbors don't speak any English, they are quite welcoming to my guests.
I have an extensive English language library, a fully outfitted kitchen and dining room, personal objects, art, and sculptures that I cherish and hope will be appreciated and respected. There are beautiful woods above the property for hikes and one can take a 20 minute walk into the nearest town to visit the butcher, pick up fresh pasta and buy local vegetables and fruits.
Poreta is just a few minutes by car from the town of Spoleto and is centrally located for day trips to all of the magnificent cultural, historical and artistic medieval towns throughout central Italy. Spectacular sunsets overlooking the Spoleto Valley can be enjoyed from the garden and since we are high up on a hill, the climate is cool on summer evenings. If you'd like to explore other nearby cities like Rome and Florence, the Spoleto train connects you everywhere. |
