Nestled at the base of famous Diamond Head Crater, this family friendly house is only steps away from sunny beaches, Tongs surfing area, the expansive Kapiolani Park, the Waikiki Aquarium, the Honolulu Zoo, the exclusive Outrigger Canoe Club and the Elks Club.

It is in a quiet residential neighborhood located on the gold coast. It is within walking distance of International Waikiki, with its beaches and world class shopping and dining opportunites.

The smoke-free house has been in our family for 35 years, and is filled with original works of art, antiques and sculpture. We welcome guests who want to be close to the nightlife and glamor of Waikiki, but enjoy the quiet serenity of our little neighborhood.

The Diamond Head Dream Home is well equipped with a gourmet kitchen, with all the right utensils and appliances you will need for cooking. There is a downstairs room that has it's own outside entrance, as well as full bathroom. We have an outside hose-off-after-the-beach-shower downstairs, that leads directly into the open glass block shower, and jaquazzi tub. If you forget to bring a book we have an extensive library downstairs. The upstairs lanai's are perfect for eating, sunbathing, or reading on a lazy Hawaiian afternoon. Our home has a formal dining room, ideal for serving gourmet meals, as well as an informal dining area off the kitchen. Upstairs there are yoga mats, and exercise balls. You can do yoga with the peaceful panorama of Diamond Head in the background. Also, upstairs we have a family heirloom, our magnificent grand piano. There is also a keyboard for the musically inclined. Our grand piano has just been lovingly restored by the firm of John Callahan out of Oakland California. One year and many dollars later our piano has been brought back to it's former glory. John brags that we may have the finest sounding piano on the island!

Upstairs is the new master suite, that feels like a complete Hawaiian oasis. This room is ultra private, and has a new outdoor shower where the views are of Diamond Head. Inside is a granite housed soaking tub, a writing desk, a day bed with Bali wood, wall-carvings, an onyx sink and onyx wall sconces. A quite, cool, hide-away, just minutes from Waikiki.

The house is very close to the finish line for the Honolulu Martathon. We are only minutes away from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Punahou Schools.

There is nothing overlooked in anticipation of a vacationer’s needs from cooking utensils to beach towels and toys, from travel guides to ample seating and private spaces for all.   • This property is PERFECT. If you are looking for a bit of everything that Hawaii has to offer then do not hesitate in booking this amazing home. It has the glamour of a big time beach front house, the homely feel, the family feel, the surf feel. We had a party of 9 stay here with two young children. There was perfet oom for everyone with nothing more needed. We actually purchased a baby crib and left it at the house. Amelia, the owner was amazing. We have made a friend in her and are forever in debt for the hospitality she shared by allowing us her home at this time. Thank you so much.

  • Very rarely does the reality of a vacation measure up to its anticipation. But, in the case of our recent 10-day vacation in Oahu, the reality far exceeded our expectations. Hawaii is definitely a paradise, but equal to that was our stay in Amelia's amazing home. It was everything she had promised it to be and more! The beautiful and well thought-out decor immediately welcomed us and made us feel like we were home. Within minutes of unpacking and checking out the drawers and shelves, we felt like we had lived there forever. Everything imaginable, for our total comfort, was right at our fingertips. Amelia has thought of every little detail to make her house feel like our home. The hardest part was having to leave, not only for our daily jaunts around the island, but ultimately for our trip back home. We couldn't have hand-picked a better home in a better location than this house. In all of our travels through the years, this has been, by far, our favorite rental and we would recommend it highly to anyone who is looking for the ultimate vacation home in the ultimate location.   • We had such a wonderful stay in your Diamond Head home! Even with two sets of grandparents and an active 8 year old we all had plenty of space ... what a great layout. We also enjoyed the sense of family and fun of your home; my mom is an artist and especially enjoyed your art. The piano was loved daily by many hands and appreciated by many ears.   • We had a lovely time in Waikiki in Amelias beautiful house with so many things to do and lots of reading material to help us see the many nice things to do in Waikiki. The house had everything anyone might need and we felt absolutely comfortable there.

  • The best family rental house on Oahu! Perfect location - everyday was spent walking to Waikiki beach, Kapiolani Park, the zoo, the aquarium, etc. We barely used our rental car. And the house is just perfect - we had 4 adults and 4 kids, and there was room to spare. We will definitely rent from Amelia again. Thank you!

  • What a wonderful relaxing vacation. We stayed 10 days, but could have stayed forever. So much to do and so close to the house. Sunset watching was a favorite as was the hike up to Diamond Head. The kitchen was such a pleasure to cook in, that we rarely ate out. A couple trips to Costco and we were set. If we get back to Maui we would book this vacation home again.   • Thank you so much! This beautiful and unique home has so many things to offer it's like having your own personal Santa Claus. We loved both the full kitchen (espresso machine just like home!!!) and the laundry. No more salty clothes! The photos here aren't enough to show off this home's beautiful architecture and unique design. The layout is great for traveling families with children and/or in-laws. So close to the Waikiki strip, you'd only ever want to walk.
