After nearly 30 years of renting cottages on Grand Traverse Bay, this year we opted for an entirely new adventure and it paid off perfectly! We watched spectacular sunrises as well as really unusual moonrises. We were lucky enough to be there when the moon rose in an indescribable shade of red - some people call it the "blood moon." Swimming in perfectly smooth sandy-bottom shallows allowed even the small children to participate in water fun. The fisher-people in the group caught over 100 walleye trolling right out in front of the cottage. Fresh cherries & cherry pie were expectedly scrumptious. There were seven of us and the accomodations were very comfortable. We water skied, kayaked through the Cedar River, canoed, boated up through the narrows and had a great time with the pedal boat. We developed nice friendships with the neighbors, shared fun bonfires and just simply found ourselves completely at home. Can't say enough great things about our stay...we're already planning for 2012!

Our Family has been vacationing here for 7 years now. We have created so many great memories. Every year my husband, 3 young boys and grandfather go fishing on the lake bright and early in the morning. They use the fishing boat provided by the cottage. My boys love to swim from dock to dock, and the lake is shallow enough where I don't have to worry. The neighbors have watched my boys grow and are excited to see how much they have grown every year. We love to swim at the beaches on Lake Michigan. The cottage is clean and we love seeing the improvements the owner has made from year to year. Our family has so many great, fun, relaxing memories of this cottage and area, I could go on and on. We definitely can't leave out the icecream at fishtown:)

Our family has been going on vacation for the last 30 years. This includes the Northwest and Upper part of Michigan and Wisconsin. We were lucky to find this location about 6 years ago. We have been going there ever since. Sitting on the deck in the morning and evening cannot be described how beautiful it is in words. The men in the family enjoy the affordable golfing and of course the fishing. As for the women, give us the wineries. Nightly games of bocce while grilling our dinner is enjoyed by us with the neighbors watching. Another nice point is that when you arrive, the property is very clean. All you have to do is unpack and enjoy. Now that our children are older, they still manage to come with us and bring their friends. During our stay, we head to Fish Town for cheese, smoked fish, fresh baked bread etc, grab a bottle of wine, fill the picnic basket and head to Northport where we watch the boats and converse with the locals. The only bad part of this is when you have to say goodbye to the neighbors, pack up and head for home. We are very lucky to be here for 2 weeks each year and start counting the days until we can return. I recommend this location to anyone who enjoys relaxing with no worries.

This is an outstanding cottage with a beautiful view of Lake Leelanau. It had everything we wanted for our family vacation...swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, and great golf course nearby. There was plenty of space for us all to be comfortable while we stayed. This property was VERY clean and well maintained. Just a short drive away, we enjoyed wineries, the dunes, shopping, and restaurants. I would highly recommend this cottage for your next vacation spot!!!

Rustic, fun cottage. We love the big stone fireplace and bright sunroom/dining area facing the lake. The comfortable kitchen includes everything we need. Also, upstairs the gas fireplace and huge windows in the bedroom that overlooks the water make a bright yet cozy get-away. The best thing is the wonderful feeling of the smartly decorated old cottage perfectly melded with new additions and touches. Many antiques compliment the comfortable décor. Lake Leeleanau is beautiful. The water is clean and clear with a gently sloping sandy bottom. The kids love swimming here. It’s the perfect location in Michigan dune country, with the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore just minutes away. The owners are very helpful, the place is always clean, and we always enjoy our stay here.

This cottage and its location are amazing. The view it provides of Lake Leelanau is hard to top. The 3 bedrooms are good size and 1 has windows that offer a great view to the lake. Waking up to that view is just a fantastic way to start the day. And possibly the best cup of coffee I have ever had was made with this cherry coffee from the local market. Highly recommend having some of that, sitting in one of the Adirondack chairs and looking out over the morning lake. You can sit there forever but this cottage is also located close to Leland, MI which is a short drive away along the lake. Traverse City is just a few miles away but bery close by and with only a couple of left turns you are in the little town of Cedar which has just about everything you need for the cottage experience---Cherry Coffee, local wine, farm fresh meat and vegetables and for later the Cedar Tap which is just a great bar and local hangout. My family and I have stayed there with friends and their kids. Kids love the lake and just hanging out on the dock. The only bad thing about the staying there is that you have to leave. Highly recommend staying at this cottage!

The second time around was even better than the first. The kids absolutely loved the pristine lake and sandy bottom for swimming and snorkeling! We also thoroughly enjoyed the long leisure kayak trips up the Victoria Creek. We ventured out a little farther to find great local wineries and Cedar is a great little town with that hometown feel. The Blue Moon Ice Cream shop is a must! The sites around are very close including Pyramid Point with it's spectacular views, great sunset spot! The cabin itself is great, it is extremely comfortable, roomy and user friendly. It has everything you could need at the lake. Plenty of amenities including a washer and dryer, so you feel right at home. The views of the lake are amazing from the dining area and the upstairs bedroom, honeymoon suite. Overall a great place to stay. Very kid friendly, and relaxing! Everyone around the neighborhood are very nice and helpful. Would recommend a stay for sure! We will be returning again!

Owner failed to state property is part of a "condo assn". with two other owners sharing the property, always walking through your area and sitting in front of the cottage. Could not use the fire pit, no linens, and the pictures of the cottage are very deceiving, Only shown are pics of new addition, most of cottage is very old and rustic. The view, beech and lake are beautiful as always, but with the other people there you never felt comfortable or any privacy. I would never stay there again or recommend it.

What a great place to stay! The owner was very friendly along with the neighbors. The cottage was very comfy, cozy and clean. Location GREAT! Everything was right around the corner. The view and scenery were spectacular. Would love to have our annual sisters weekend here every year. Can't say anything bad. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

This place really does have a wonderful view. Beautiful sunrises and we also had a full moon while we were there which we could see centered perfectly in the large window in the bedroom upstairs at night. The bedroom upstairs was great. It can get hot but there are plenty of fans provided for this reason. Very quick and easy drive to nearby Cedar and Lake Leelanau. Suttons Bay and Leland also a pleasant drive from this location. The cottage has nice open floor plan on main level but kitchen cooking area is small and a little difficult to maneuver in. We mostly dined out for dinner so it did not matter to us as much. The dock supported our pontoon nicely and there were kayaks provided for us to use which we enjoyed very much. Kayaking is terrific on this side of the lake. My only criticisms would be that the public access/boat launch is basically next door (which is great for putting the boat in) BUT it got very loud and crazy with local kids - some unsupervised toward the late afternoon/early evening. Not so bad during the day but if you want some peace and quiet at that time to relax and enjoy looking at the lake or reading, the teens yelling and screaming were extremely distracting and kind of ruined that for us. Some people aren't bothered by that at all (especially those with kids that age) but we were looking for something a little more peaceful since it was just my husband and I. Also, you cannot use the fire pit apparently due to owner's liability which was a bit of a downside for us as we were really looking forward to doing that each evening. You could see bonfires all over the lake at night and the fire pit at this cottage was nicely contained and in a great location out by the lake but could not be used so that was a bummer. All-in-all, we had a great time at the cottage, location was great and the view definitely is wonderful.
