LICENSE VR09-0018 Permit#24212- Built in 1880, with the original carriage house on the grounds, this outrageous purple victorian "painted lady" is in the heart of downtown historic Napa. Built by prominent founding family member Nathan Coombs, it has been eccentrically decorated by subsequent owners for over a hundred years!

Enjoy our enchanted forest from the spacious veranda which is equipped with ceiling fans and a gas stove. A Japanese garden surrounds the redwood gazebo, perfect for an afternoon wine tasting. You'll have to fight the squirrels for the walnuts, but you can make fresh orange juice from abundant year-round fruit.

Each guestroom comes with luxurious linens, towels, and robes and premium mattresses. Our largest guest bedroom with queen-sized Simmons Beautyrest bed is the Bordello Room, so-named for the antique velvet wallpaper reminiscent of the wild, wild west.

The Yellow Rose Room, with queen-size pillowtop bed is decorated with French Provincial furniture and brass headboard. A library of bestseller books awaits a lazy afternoon on the wisteria-covered porch.

The upstairs bathroom has a romantic antique, clawfoot tub and Monet-inspired mural. Downstairs consists of a newly remodeled kitchen, salon and formal dining room and bathroom with shower. English style cottage garden views from every room.

Our Purple Victorian is right across the street from historic Alexis Baking Company and Cafe. Walk to shops and fine restaurants.

Just a few doors down is the historic Uptown Theater which is being renovated by Francis Ford Coppola. A ten-minute stroll to the Opera House on Main Street makes a great walking tour of the many historic homes dating from the 1850's. License #24212

Wine tasting in Napa is always a good idea, but finding this historic home made a vacation to remember. It's located on the heart of Napa easily walkable to several great restaurants and only a short drive to an abundance of fantastic wineries. The property was so clean and well maintained. It had all the comforts of home but it still felt true to it's hostoric namesake. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and was such a treasure to relax in after a long day of wine tasting. Reservations were easy to make. The owners take so much pride in their purple gem. I can't wait to go back!

Owner response: Thank you, you were a dream houseguest!

The Adorable Purple Victorian was a perfect place to stay in Napa. I was privileged to be a guest here for a week with my sister, and the property far exceeded our expectations. Though the pictures are nice, they don't convey the beauty, the coziness, and the charm of the setting. The garden is much larger than I expected, and Janet encouraged us to pick any ripe fruit that was growing. Sipping a glass of wine in your own private garden is an experience you can't get in a hotel! Each room had a style of its own, and we enjoyed the time we spent at our home away from home. The house is comfortable and has all the conveniences a traveler could ask for. Everything has been prepared thoughtfully for guests, so all you have to do is enjoy yourself. The washer and dryer were an especially nice touch for our extended stay. Good food is a short walk away in case you don't want to cook on your vacation. Being right in Napa definitely has its perks! Janet is friendly, easy to work with, and she responded promptly to all my questions and concerns. I am thankful that she opened her home to us, and would highly recommend the Adorable Purple Victorian to anyone visiting Napa. Thank you, Janet!

Found this gem online and so glad we did! It is a small, quaint Victorian home lavish with antiques and character. It is across from a great bakery/breakfast cafe and within 2 blocks to downtown Napa and many restaurants, lounges, wine tastings, banks, cleaners and UPS. The gardens in the back along with the gazebo make for a great night of unwinding with your wine purchase. We sat on the veranda and grilled and chilled with purchases from the Oxbow public market too. Amenities abound in these pleasant surroundings; comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and baths, coupons for local appetizers and wine tastings, washer/dryer if needed, a true home away from home. Janet could not have been easier to deal with and we will definitely be back ! Thank you

Your home is splendid and the bed .. heavenly. After hip surgery I am always a little anxious about booking a new place. I need a cushy, luxurious bed and yours didn't disappoint. I slept beautifully. Loved the easy walk to downtown restaurants, especially breakfast right across the street. Napa has it all.
