Just minutes from shopping, ideally situated on St. John's scenic southeastern shore and deliberately faced into the cooling trade winds...Andante is nestled on a shelf carved into the living rock directly above beautiful Hart Bay... high enough to look down on birds in flight... low enough to hear the sea.

Architected in modified Mediterranean-style with accents of native stone, Andante is unusual in that, while ensuring privacy, its panoramic decks offer spectacular views of both sunrise and sunset... a full 270-degrees from glittering St. Thomas east to Rams head!

There are three large bedrooms, all with sea views,private decks, full baths, and air conditioning. A canopied king-size bed and rattan furnishings with a Victorian flair grace the master bedroom along with a private deck. The two guest bedrooms have twin beds easily converted to comfortable kings and private decks.

The villa is tastefully furnished throughout in contemporary tropical rattan,teak and eclectic accents from around the world. Vaulted cypress-beamed ceilings and overhead fans accent the great room, kitchen, and two upper bedrooms.

The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen includes brand new appliances, an electric ceramic top range/convection & conventional oven, microwave, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with ice maker/dispenser, whole house and separate drinking water filtration systems, "steaming hot" water dispenser, blender, coffee maker, bread maker, and espresso/cappuccino machine. A fully-automatic stainless steel gas grill and outdoor dining area for is a few steps away on a trellised patio; ready for the fish you catch at the secluded beach below.

The pool and hot tub are strategically cantilevered into the cliff on the west side of the property for maximum views and breeze. Arise in the early morning, frolic in either, and appreciate the dramatic colors of sunrise. In the evening, sip champagne as the sounds of mellow jazz surround you and marvel at the complexity and beauty of the sunset and the clarity of the stars, while you are simultaneously warmed in the hot tub and cooled in the breezes of the ocean.

Andante comes equipped with everything you will need for a relaxed island vacation. Linens, towels, phone, fax and printer,dedicated fax/computer line, cable TV with HBO & CINEMX, radio, surround sound multi-zoned stereo (even piped to the pool and hot tub), CD-radio-cassette deck, beach chairs and coolers, snorkeling equipment, and an extensive selection of books and music all await you. You need bring only your bathing suit and a few clothes for forays into town.

A private path winds down to the sparsely-peopled white sand, pebble and coral beach below, offering fabulous snorkeling at one the best spots on the island. A left turn at the bottom of the hill takes you for a tranquil swim in nearby Chocolate Hole.

If "chilling" is what you seek in your ultimate vacation, Andante is so self-contained that it is possible to "hole up" in the villa for several days at a time, without the need to leave home. Andante is perfect for that first or second honeymoon. If you do venture out, the world-renowned beaches of the north shore and the boutiques and restaurants (ranging from funky to gourmet) of the tiny town of Cruz Bay are less than a ten-minute drive away. A fifteen-minute, two-dollar ferry ride brings you to the bustling shopping and restaurants of St. Thomas.

The word "Andante" defines a moderately slow, relaxed, and leisurely tempo in music. At Andante, our guests have every opportunity to slow down, rest, relax, rejuvenate, and renew.

  • Air Conditioning : Air Conditioning is provided in all three bedrooms, with split systems in the upper two bedrooms. The villa is positioned so that it gets constant breezes throughout making airconditioning rarely necessary.
  • Linens Provided : All necessary linens, including beach towels, are provided
  • Washer : Large Capacity Front Loading Whirlpool Washer is located in storage room on the lower level for the exclusive use of the villa's guests.

  • Off Street Parking : Parking for 2 vehicles off street. Additional parking for one more vehicle is available on the shoulder of the road on a first come first serve basis.

  • Private Hot Tub : The private pool and hot-tub are situated on a deck cantilevered into the hill for maximal views of sunset, sunrise and starry nights. A new small pergola at the norther end of the pool deck gives a little shade from the bright sun.

  • Music Library : We have an extensive collection of CD's and Casette tapes in the Great Room. The Great Room Stereo is hooked to a surround sound speaker system that extends throughout the Great room, kitchen, diningroom, upper deck and pool deck. A hookup for your MP3 player is in place. In addition, the two guest bedrooms have their own CD players and stereo systems.

  • Cooking Utensils Provided : Cooking in the villa is one of our most enjoyable past-times and we have outfitted the Kitchen with this in mind. There is a full complement of hi-quality cookware, bake ware & utensils. We are constantly adding a replacing to keep the kitchen as well equipped as possible. Our guests who are themselves gourmet cooks have commented on the completeness of our kitchen!

  • Catering Available : There are a number of gourmet chef services available to prepare and serve your meal at home or deliver it to you. In addition gourmet grocery stores have extensive prepared food sections. Eating at home, under the stars has never been easier and is an experience not to be missed at Andante.

  • Gas/Electric BBQ Grill : A stainless steel gas BBQ is situated on the main deck, next to the outside eating area. That Romantic dinner under the stars has never been easer.
  • Deck/Patio (6) : Andante has several areas of decks for maximum enjoyment of the sun, breezes, shade and view. On the upper level, there is a sun exposed main deck, with a separate dining deck and shaded pergola to the east. The large pool & spa deck, now has a permanent pergola for shade in that once very sunny spot. The master bedroom has its own deck facing east, and the west guest bedroom has a small private deck facing west. At the lower level, there is an expansive, totally shaded patio, with a hammock and seating. This area is the best for capturing the constant tradewinds, and is a favorite for a lazy afternoon nap. There is a separate small private patio partitioned off from the lower level in front of the lower bedroom.

  • Oceanfront : Andante is perched 180 ft above Hart Bay, with its own private path winding down to the beach below, high enough to be one with birds in flight, and low enough to be lulled by the hypnotic sounds of the sea.

  • Telephone (5) : There are two lines. One, the main line, has extensions in each bedroom, and the kitchen. The second, which we use as a backup line,fax and computer line, has an extension in the greatroom, and hookups in the masterbedroom and west guest bedroom.
  • Broadband Internet : DSL and Wifi router are in the villa. However, we ask our guests to remember that this is an island and that we can be subject to service interruptions beyond our control. If guests are planning on a "working vacation" with critical work requiring an internet connection and have absolute need of a Broadband Connection, we ask that you have a backup option, in the event of service interruption. Several Internet Cafe sites are available on the island. We do have a second phone line for back-up dial=ip internet.
