E komo mai kama'aina e malahini. Welcome to Hale Ohia and the lush, vibrant side of the Big Island - Puna.
Hale Ohia is a beautiful new home with ocean views. Crafted with tropical woods and natural stone, the house (hale) sleeps 8+ comfortably (3 queens, 2 twins) in two master bedroom suites, a guest/media room and an office. Whether you're relaxing in the lanai, barbequeing beside the fish pond or sightseeing at the volcano, you'll love being at Hale Ohia at day's end.
Our unique home is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood just three blocks from the Pacific Ocean. Next door, the Nanawale Forest Reserve is a perfect place to rest and refresh yourself and to take in the beauty of the Island. Drive down Jungle Road and journey back in time to an older, simpler Hawaii. In about twenty minutes, you'll arrive at Ahalanui County Park with its oceanside hot ponds and acres of lawn and palm trees. Nearby Poho'iki Bay has good surfing and snorkeling. At Kilauea Volcano, an hour's drive away, lava is still pouring into the ocean. There is good snorkeling at Richardson's Beach in Hilo and other black sand beaches (Kehena) are just thirty minutes away. A day trip to Kona and the west side of the island, is easily accomplished and you will find lots of white sand beaches and shopping there. Don't miss our nearby Maku'u Farmer's Market on Sundays and the Hilo Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The quaint town of Pahoa is 20 minutes away offering seven to eight restaurants, an internet cafe, a video store, post office, and natural foods store.
So, if you wish to discover the best that Puna has to offer - unspoiled coastal vistas, vibrant jungle flora and probably the best snorkeling left in the state - come stay at Hale Ohia. |
