THE SUNDANCE LODGE
This gorgeous luxury log home is located on a pristine cove in the Cove Pointe / Big Creek area on Norris Lake. The lake is literally right out your window. Two huge decks over look the crystal clear lake and woods. Outstanding!
The home itself features a well furnished great room including a large fireplace - so its open, warm, and you will love just relaxing out with the whole family. Also a highlight are the excellent dining areas both inside and on the main deck with a wonderful view of the water. You will find everyone seems to gravitate to that main deck and its so fun to settle in after a long day on the water and laugh and tell stories. The kitchen is fully equipped including disposal blender and dish washer etc so you can focus on the fun stuff rather than the clean-up. The washer and dryer off the main bedroom offers further convenience.
All of the bedrooms are roomy and tastefully finished with new mattresses - pillows and bed linens are provided. Additional sleeping areas are found on a large pull out sleeper sofa. And if you fall asleep on the couch...well... people might just leave you there! :)
Also - just in case of a rainy day - the rec room offers a giant air hockey table and foose ball, tons of games, along with over 100 videos.
The easy walk to the dock and water is short path through the lightly wooded lot. There is ample room for boats at the dock which we replaced last year - and on our beach. Sequoyah, Shanghai, Whitman Hollow and Star Dust Marinas are near by. In season Friday night Corona / Wing night on the water at Sequoyah is so close. And Saturday nights at Stardust Marina with a band most weekends is too fun! This is where you want to be!
Need a boat??? We will deliver a luxury loaded pontoon or a Mariah Ski Boat right to your door - so there's no need to go back and forth from the dock - no need to put up a second deposit - its all right here and we will beat any published price on the lake.
Kayaks are also a great option. We offer 2 Versa Boards by Liquid Logic - so you can sit down and paddle - or stand up and paddle which is all the rage. The Kids will love these things! We also have a larger tandem 2 person Kayak perfect for fishing and getting our closer to nature. All are new 2012 units are are just way fun! And its nice when you arent trying to mobilize a whole crew - when you or the kids want to sneak off and have fun - well you just go! This way there is no need for the whole group to organize if the kids or peeps get restless. Daily rates and waiver required.
You just wont find a home this nice in such a beautiful cove on Norris Lake at this price. The easy thing is to just call us for more information. We will consider vacation swaps and bartering too.

Even if the Sundance Lodge does not work out for your party, be sure to look into renting your water craft through this company. Mark was so great to work with. Having the luxury of the boat being delivered directly to the dock wherever you are staying is worth more than any deal at a marina but Mark does have the best deal on the lake. Having the boat picked up was awesome as well so you can concentrate on the sad task of packing out at the end of your stay instead of driving the windy roads to pick up someone at a marina. I highly recommend using this service. The Sundance Lodge happened to be within walking distance to the cabin we stayed in and it looks very nice and fun. We chose another rental because of bed configuration only. A vaca at Norris is fantastic and "motor boatin on a pontoon" is outstanding!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

From the moment you turn into Cove Pointe you know that you are in for a treat. Although the charming log cabin appeared rustic, it was actually comfy, cozy and well-appointed with lots of space for our whole crew. We immediately prepared a "beverage" and headed out to the 2-tier deck that offered an amazing view of of the serene, blue-green waters of Norris Lake. As New Yorkers, we finally learned what "peaceful" was all about! After we were relaxed to the point of bliss, we hit the lake. Tooling along on water like glass in the beautiful pontoon boat was an amazing experience. Along the wooded shore, we saw deer, heron and wildlife we didn't even know existed and we marveled at the lush, green mountainous view. Everyday was like a picture postcard. We swam, tubed and generally acted like the idiots that living in a paradise creates. We also learned what fun was all about! The property owners were so friendly and accomodating we knew that we were far from New York. As I am sure is evident, we will definitely go back! Nothing can top the fun and relaxation of this beautiful house in this gorgeous setting operated by truly obliging people!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Our family had a terrific time during our stay here. The cabin is even better than advertised with plenty of room to spread out and have your own space. There are views of the lake from every level, so coffee in the morning and dinner on the deck made for a peaceful, serene experience. We loved being back in the cove so that we could fish and swim right off the dock without any interference. If you go, though, be sure to rent the boat. How convenient it was to have it waiting for us when we arrived! We spent a great deal of time cruising the lake and tubing. Lots of fun and lots of relaxation--can't ask for anything more.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family stayed at this location in July. We normally stay at Deerfield, but wanted to explore comparable options in another area of Norris. This place was great. Nice dock for swimming in back of a cove; so no worries about boat traffic with kids. Great space on this part of the lake, with low boat trafffic comparitively. Close enough to Sequoyah Marina for fuel and out to eat food. House was great - clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Nice loft area with 3 beds and bathroom (great for teens with friends). Three other good size bedrooms. Nice back decks on house. Would recommend to all.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Well Im a guy from Dayton and I love my family and friends...and Norris Lake. You can Friend me on FaceBook if you want. So lets see...Ive had the lake house for about 12 years now. I now have 2 great new business partners buying in on the house in 2009. So thats been fun and we all have a blast together. Weve done a ton of updates - too many to list and we now offer kayaks, boat rentals and fishing charters too. We all love the water and it has been such a great thing for the whole family - alot of fantastic memories boating, swimming, skiing, and playing. We work and play pretty hard together. Why the Owner Chose LaFollette:
Well I came to Norris Lake for over 10 years before I bought. So be careful if you look - the next thing you know you will be leaving a closing table rubbing your face saying, '... what did I just do???' H ha!!! I looked at Cumberland originally but its not even close. Norris is the oldest lake in the Cumberland chain of lakes - its also the largest - and the cleanest. And then when I looked all over Norris for the best spot I just fell in love with Cove Pointe. Its perfect. I actually bought the home for sale by owner from a really nice couple who was - of all things - moving to Dayton... Hmmm. Anyway - raising my 2 boys on the water has been such a blessing. We have boated, swam, fished, climbed, played, and rocked the lake for almost 2 decades. You cant imagine how close you can get to your kids by really having fun with them on the water... Thank you God so much for all those amazing memories. :']
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Well - ok the house is just very cool. I mean its a log home for Gods sake... Its open and bright and just very inviting and homey. And I like it because weve updated everything - thats the big benefit of having good partners because you just stay on top of making sure everything is dialed in. But the lay out is perfect too - great room and main deck when you want to be with the whole clan...downstairs deck, bedrooms, or dock if you want to pull back and have some quiet time. I mean sure...the amenities are endless and you will want for nothing but I often just talk about how the home feels. It feels awesome to be there... And as much as you will hear me talk about how great the home is...I probably talk more about the lake rather than the house. I LOVE being in the back of our cove. The water is perfectly calm, warm, and crystal clear and its so private too! Out on the end you get wake which rocks your boats and toys in the water. And if your are swimming in my spot you arent going to get dive bombed by waverunners. So you have all that privacy but you also can be at Sequoyah where the social scene is in 10 minutes. The lake right off of our cove opens up so its not so river like as it is in some parts of the lake. I can go on and on but this area is the best on the lake. Just sayin. :]
