Location: Traverse City, Northwest, Michigan, USA (5 miles north of Traverse City, on Grand Traverse Bay) View Map
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)
Keywords: Log Home
Located on a heavily forested bluff above the west Grand Traverse Bay is our Leelanau Log Home. The property is two and a half acres of wooded hills leading to the bay frontage shared with one other lot. The home enjoys complete privacy year round, with a beautifully landscaped back yard plus an outdoor shower. There is plenty of room for picnicing, badminton, basketball, volleyball or just sun bathing. Our home has two porches, the front porch has a swing (adored by children), the back porch
has a gas grill and comfortable furniture. It is a great place for an afternoon nap or early evening cocktails. The front of the property has 88 feet of frontage on the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay, with a deck overlooking a sandy beach.
The setting is special, but the Log Home itself makes the biggest impression. Logs milled on three sides give a rustic exterior appearance, but the interior is an elegant mix of contemporary and antique furniture. It features cherry floors, tech lighting, fire slate and stainless kitchen counters. The cabinets are filled with enough cooking implements to whip up a gourmet feast for twelve. This is no bare back rental, but rather a comfortable retreat in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula. The Home has an open plan that lends itself to congenial gatherings. It sleeps thirteen, with three queen-size beds, two twins, a bunk, and a fold out sofa bed. We also have a porta-crib and a high chair

Traverse city was such a ball. We enjoyed the area so much, and the best part was coming home to that house which was just beautiful. We spent alot of time just playing in the back yard. We also swam, boated, rode bikes and hiked in Sleeping Bear Dunes. August was a great time to go because Lake Michigan wasn't too cold for swimming, even my mother and children swam. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the house and the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy some great leisure time with the family

August 21, 2004 Sam & Pierce, We did everything-the zipline, tubing, badminton, campfires, swimming at the beach (we love your beach), shopping, exploring- what a great area and what a great house! We had so much fun and can't wait to come again. Thanks for contributing to some wonderful family memories. What a blessing to know people like you. Jaime & Jim

July, 24, 2004 Dear Sam & Pierce, Thank you once again for sharing your home with us for another great week. Your home has all the luxuries of home and then some. All the beautiful touches you have made are so nice. We were never bored we went to chruch, Meijers, Suttons Bay, downtown Traverse, Glen Arbor, Mission Pennisula and even visited our old spot Arcadia. We spent time on the porch swing, back porch and yard playing badminton. We made lots of great meals and even had time for a few naps. Thank you so much, The Grimes

July 10, 2004 Sam & Pierce, Here we are after year two. Second visit in your beautiful home. We fell back into our routine of last summer and we began to feel like the folks with the summer weekend/vacation home. We visited the same stores we liked last year and discovered the candy store in Leland. We took long walks up Crain Hill Road past the cherry farms, chased flower eating deer away and bathed the children outside as usual what a great week. Thanks again, Jill & Tim
