Everything the ad says and more! The best views & cleanest beach I have been to and the condo was superb (bring your own hairdryer... Everything else is provided) Ken was great to work with and everything from reservations to check in/out was easy and quick. We will be back & stay in 501!

This is a super condo with excellent views. The condo is clean and well maintained and the owner, Ken, is great to work with. Highly recommended!

This is the third year in a row we have spent a week in this property. We loved it before and with the recent upgrades (new chair, new large screen TV, some new cookware,new drapes, bedspread etc) it continues to live up to it's billing as a very fine property. It has really become a destination we look forward to going to each year.

we loved the condo!!! Great place for families. It is so close to several restaurants. Las Rancheros-good food. Light House--Good broiled seafood platters. Gilligans--Great all you can eat crablegs ($29.99). Pranzo's- best Italian food i have ever eaten. Los Panchos- great Fajitas. Be cautious of renting scooters--our adult daughter and her best friend rented one and a sudden gust of wind caused them to lose control and hit a curb. Was taken to a hospital and thankfully no serious injuries.

Just took a family vote and booked this condo for the third year in a row. Kids can’t get enough of the LAZY RIVER. They spend countless hours navigating the currents. They meet new friends every year and really enjoy the planned activities offered by the Beach & Bay Resort (at no charge I might add). We love the view of the Lazy River and the Bay from one balcony & the peaceful serene view of the Gulf from the master suite’s private balcony. The daily pilgrimages over to the beach are a cinch thru the covered walkway. The condo is centrally located to all the hot spots including a new grocery 5 minutes away. The covered parking was an unexpected bonus on those sunny Destin afternoons. Unit included all necessary amenities for a stress free stay. We are eagerly anticipating our return visit next summer. Wife & kids, as I UNANIMOUSLY VOTE to just move in year round……

We had stayed at destin west before , but not on the Bayside. we loved the views from both balconies in this unit. you could see the bay and the gulf. We also had great views of the lazy River below. the unit was comfortable and clean. we loved the furnishings . it felt like home and not too beachey.

Just got back today from renting this unit. This unit was dirty and the furniture has not been replaced in a very long time (if ever)! Shame on you for allowing people to pay hard earned money for this run-down, dirty place!! I was so dissappointed when my family and I walked in. Almost everything was dirty! The master bed was the worst! It was sunken in and made loud creeking noises when getting in and out. The couch and chair in the livingroom were disgusting and sunken in from use. The patio lounge chair had paint peeling and rust on it. The steps to the bunkbeds were black. My husband took a cloth with water (only) and wiped off the dirt! The dinning table was still dirty. The front patio had some kind of spill on it. The kitchen had dust on the walls, I didn't want to cook in there. We never turned on the master bedroom fan because we could see the dust hanging on it. I couldn't even make coffee in the morning because the coffee maker doesn't work. We called the owner the first day to tell him about the mess and he said it needed a deep cleaning?? The next day I called the owner to tell him the coffee maker doesn't work, he never called me back. The picture on this page of the livingroom is not how it looks!!
Owner response:There is some truth to this review as this unit was in need of a deep cleaning after a very busy spring and summer season. The regular maid service cleans the unit after each stay , but can not go beyond a complete wipe down and linen change between guests. In this off season we will deep clean the entire unit , change the den and outside furniture, and re-paint much of the unit. It will be fresh for our winter guests and onward. Unfortunately the popular units such as this are in need of re-furbish just about every year. Thanks for your input and we will take action.

My sister and i take a few days this time of year to relax. Loved the stay here. Our niece came for one nite with her kids and they loved the lazy river. Very impressed with the furnishings here. I live in Ft. Walton but this was a great stay-cation. thanks

We loved the condo-very nice. Our daughters wedding was June 12 at the ramada across the street. All guests agreed that our condo was decorated the best! Floyd's and the Lighthouse were great places to eat. After the wedding--we relaxed in the Lazy river.

Me and my fiance stayed in this unit in may 2011 and the place was a DUMP. Very dirty, dust everywhere, pots, pans and silver wear where all rusty. Mold in the showers. After staying 5 days had to leave the unit and rent another for the rest of our vacation. Ken costed us alot of money. I email Ken and told him about his unit and that we had to leave. It would be nice if he refunded our money, as we had to pay for another unit that was very nice and clean and well maintained.
Owner response:This review is very unfair as these guests called with complaints upon arrival concerning some kitchenware. My maid service responded quickly and brought some replacement cookware. Obviously this was not satisfactory to this guest and they continued complaining obviously expecting a refund. The unit is and was not dirty as it had had maid service every week since beginning of March 2011. Evidently they were looking for a refund or a discount from day 1. This unit was rented all summer with no complaints from the guests that went unanswered.

Stayed for a volleyball tournament at Ft Walton beach. Owner is easy to work with, and took care of all the details for us. Everyone on the trip enjoyed the condo and will consider it when we come back for the next trip. We utilized the pool area/lazy river/hot tubs frequently during our trip and they all were clean and well maintained. Property management came around a few times and validated everyone using pool bands, which is nice, so we didn't have unwanted guests. Property management was also very courteous and helpful. Unit is a Corner Unit on the building, so only neighbors on one side, (we didn't know if we had any or not). Everything in the unit was in working order, and had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Highly recommended & would stay again. -PC from Nashville TN

We loved the view and the location. The beach in front of the condo was not busy and was perfect. Would recommend Okaloosa Island to Friends.

Ken, thank you for allowing use to stay in your unit. We loved the bayside of this resort. I wondered if I would miss the view of the gulf, No Way, the bay view is beautiful. In the early mornings we watched dolphins playing and saw two sting rays while walking on the sidewalk at the seawall. This condo is perfect for just a couple or a family. The lazy river and pools are well maintained, every morning the guys were treating and cleaning the pools and the landscaping is a site to behold. This is a family resort, most of the guest were families with children enjoying fall break and we commented on how much fun all the children were having at the pool area. The bay side has more of a feeling like a tropical island with all the palm trees. The kitchen was well stocked as well as linens. The bunk room with its own bath is nice too for families with children. I loved this unit being on the end of the building because we had a 2nd balcony off the master bedroom, which we used to watch the sun come up several mornings. The walk to the gulf is a nice stroll across the raised walkway above the road, or you can drive over and park in the gulf side parking deck if you prefer. We had another wonderful time at unit #302. The weather was perfect!Beach was beautiful and fun. We saw dolphins on our last day. Some fun things we did this time were the Gulfarium, Floyds seafood, Shopping, The Donut Hole in Destin. We will be back.

Fall break escape from Tennessee. Love the condo. Great views from the balcony. Saw lots of Dolphins. really enjoyed Anglers Sports Bar across the street. Shrimp Po Boy is enough for 2. We have been to this area twice per year for 8 years now. this was our best trip yet. We really enjoy the outdoor mall- destin Commons. the lazy river is great.

We have been to the destin area before, but this was our first time to stay at Destin west. We absolutely loved it. This condo is beautiful and so warm and welcoming. The lazy river, pools, and hot tubs were a huge hit with all of us. My daughter thought the bunks were "cool" with the flat screen TV and private bath. We've been on some wonderful vacations, but this one was sooooo relaxing. we love the ft. Walton area and will return- and we will request #501 sandpiper.

thanks for the amazing condo! We have stayed in destin west twice before and this is by far the most beautiful condo and view that we have had. Our best vacation ever. There is nothing better than seeing your one year old play in the ocean for the first time. We loved the lazy river and had a blast running from pool to pool.

What a beautiful condo, wonderful weather, and just an overall excellent time. This is our first stay at Destin west and since we enjoyed so much-we will be back. The most relaxing thing about this whole trip is floating in the lazy river after dinner. We could not have asked for anything better.

We ditto every word written. The Sealand's Restaurant in Ft. walton has the best tasting crab cakes I have ever had in my mouth. A must try in Ft. Walton. We will definitely be back again.

Our second stay at Destin west, but our first time in this condo. We loved it. Decor was beautiful. Be sure to keep watch on the Bay--on our last nite here 8 dolphins played and put on a show. we took the dolphin cruise in Destin and did not see any. This is a wonderfull place to spend quality family time.

We really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful condo. We could have used some more sunshine during our week, but truly enjoyed all of the ammenities. We enjoyed the pool, golf, hot tub, etc. It was a relaxing week for us.
