Cottage and grounds just as in photos if not better. So comfortable, clean, cozy. For a small cottage it is very livable-great storage. The yard is gorgeous-loved watching the hummingbirds. Owner so helpful-thank you!!! Also loved the proximity to the ocean bike path-1/2 block to westcliff drive. PS-we had 1 adult plus girls ages 17, 15, and 11 and were very comfortable.

Property and location was better than advertised! Only 3 homes from Cowells Beach and walking distance everywhere else. The home was perfect for one person and would work great for up to 4 visitors. Well maintained and decorated. Had everything I needed. Very quiet, except for the seals and the waves, which is exactly what one wants to hear when visiting a beach community. The owner was very helpful with suggestions. The time passed way too quickly. Highly recommend to anyone who bikes, surfs, visit the boardwalk(five minute walk) or just wants to relax.

I am so happy I chose to stay here for my writing retreat. Rebecca, you have done a spectacular job in designing and decorating this little house. Wherever I look, I see attention to aesthetic detail, from the lattice work along the less attractive view to the north, to the complementary landscaping colors, to the colorful crockery in the open cupboards, to the panel alongside the stove that hides the gap between stove and wall. Your website really does not do the property justice. You've also thought about comfort, and how people will use the space. I love the party lights on the deck, the toney patio set and lawn chairs, the curtains and shades on every window, all the useful kitchen paraphenalia, the helpful information in the welcome letter. And of course, all the "regular" things were taken care of too, like everything being spotlessly clean when I arrived. This little side street was quiet, safe, and restful, but I was close to everything I needed. I would stay here again IN A HEARTBEAT. Indeed, I can't wait to return!

A little piece of paradise!
A little piece of paradise!
The pictures of this cottage and reviews only begin to capture all that the property and the location have to offer. Our family of four (with two teens who took advantage of the loft sleeping area), thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was meticulous and tastefully decorated, while the setting tranquil! Rebecca was extremely thorough and thought of everything necessary to make this a successful stay. Within walking distance of the Boardwalk, restaurants, and the beach, it was a hidden gem offering a peaceful and quiet location complete with laundry facilities, off street parking, the sounds of sea lions, and a beautiful yard/deck area conducive to meals outside, reading, or even taking a nap! We can't say enough about this "home away from home".

Santa Cruz Cottage
Santa Cruz Cottage
What a lovely vacation home. It was small, but so well laid out that there was really plenty of space for our young family of five. Especially with the beautiful tropical grounds surrounding the cottage and private lot tucked back behind the main house. Vicinity to the beach, wharf, and boardwalk could not be beat. The owner loaned us her Monterey Aquarium passes, which was a great perk. The décor of the cottage was so pretty and everything we needed was right at hand. It was very clean and with the warm outdoor shower we could help to keep it that way after coming back from the beach. The owner left a list of recommendations that was very helpful and everything we took in off the list was spot on. My husband and I surf and it was very convenient to take turns in the morning going out to Cowells beach with our board just a few minutes walk from the home while the kids slept in. We will definitely recommend this home to our friends.

Cottage by the Sea
Cottage by the Sea
A very well appointed stand alone cottage behind the other houses on the street. Accurate description and photos. Clean and well maintained. Easy parking and unloading. Literally sea cliff walk is at the end of the street (two houses away). Great walks in either direction and can hear sea lions on the wharf or pier. Santa Cruz boardwalk is 10 minutes walk and downtown is 20 minutes walk at a slow pace. Saves on parking especially at weekends when it can get very busy. Good clear instructions, local information and owner left us to it but very friendly when we eventually met. Efficient booking process and deposit returned within a week of leaving. Plenty of appliances (teapot, kettle, dishwasher stove and microwave), nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. Bed was a bit soft for our liking and washer and dryer are out back so avoid doing your washing at night since it will be in the dark. Loved the area and would recommend the Monterey Acquarium and the Big Sur drive. Would certainly recommend to friends and relatives

What a find... My Husband and I travel to the Santa Cruz area to spend time with our college age son and enjoy the beach. We have stayed in the area for years and are so happy we found Rebecca's hidden treasure. This home was bright and airy. We had plenty of room for 3 of us to be comfortable . The weather was perfect and we biked and walked every where we will be back Thank you Rebecca

Lovely holiday cottage in peaceful location
Lovely holiday cottage in peaceful location
We had a fab 2-week stay at this property. The cottage is decorated with a brightly coloured Mexican/Hawaiian theme, which gave it a great vacation feel. It was very clean and well maintained. There was plenty of space and storage for all our belongings, and it was well equipped with kitchen equipment, towels, linens, etc. The yard/garden is very well maintained, but tropical flowers encouraging butterflies and humming birds to visit. It's located in a good residential area, so it's quiet, but it's also extremely close to the beach and the wharf, which meant it was very easy to walk to restaurants for dinner. The location was great for us, as it was easy to get to, but nice and peaceful for relaxing. The owner was very helpful in directing us to good restaurants, and also to the Monterey Aquarium. We'd love to visit again.

I'd like to begin with a huge thank you to Rebecca, we absolutely loved our time at the cottage and in Santa Cruz full stop! The house was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for as a family with two young children. The space was generous, tastefully decorated and the garden was brilliant, the children really enjoyed exploring in it. I would have no hesitation in reccommending a superb house with a location that is almost unbeatable, West Cliff Drive is truely one of the most scenic places I've visited and one I'll definitely visit again.
