Our Family of ten spent a great week at Mark's home. The children loved the sandy, shallow lake as did their parents. The home is lovely, yet very welcoming to children. Our days were spent swimming and boating- the evenings, sitting around camp fires and playing games. One family ventured to Story Land and another to a baseball game in Portland. Otherwise we remained at the lake and made some lovely memories. My husband and I, the grandparents, treasured every moment. Mark was extremely pleasant to work with and very accommodating. When the grill stopped working, he replaced it immediately. Thank you Mark for everything!

We had such a great time at Mark's house! Mark was great to work with. The house was fantastic -- from the modern kitchen, to the pristine floors, to the comfortable layout and bedrooms. And very clean. The view was amazing -- in fact, I have never seen such a beautiful view of the mountains in this area, it took my breath away. The water was warm and SHALLOW with a sandy floor -- I have three small children (non-swimmers) and this couldn't have been a better/safer place for them to play in the water. My oldest even learned to kayak! I thought the way the house/location was described on VRBO was very accurate. It is obvious that Mark wants his renters to enjoy there stay -- everything was well stocked and he was very generous in letting us use all his things! We loved it and would definitely do it again!

I think the turkey tasted better because of the magnificengt views, the warm fire in the fireplace and the entire ffamily sitting in such a surreal surrounding. Friday, we woke to a blanket of snow and 2 bald eagles flying past the picture window...Saturday we fed the family of ducks for the last time, and reluctantly packed up to return home...It was magical. Owner response:Thanks for the kind review.....We strive each year to make the little improvements in hopes that people will have a great experience. We enjoy sharing our home and appreciate everyone's input.

We just spent four nights at this cabin during the week of Thanksgiving. It was ideal for our family of four and our parents. We spent our time relaxing in front of the fireplace, watching the lake and the mountains, walking to the sandy beach at the end of the road, and enjoying the cabin's puzzles, books, and games. The sunsets were unreal. The cabin was clean, newly updated, well-equipped, and even nicer than the photos shown here. The owner was very helpful and gracious. Our five year old son was so distraught about leaving that we had to promise him a return trip in the summer. We are looking forward to swimming in the beautiful lake when we return.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice comments. The location is great year round and the off season rates make this an ideal and very affordable escape.

I am one particular traveller but this place is amazing, and we will be back. We rented a boat and a jet ski, and the lake was terrific, never busy, so you could anchor down or hit the throttle, no concerns about traffic on the water. It has the softest sandiest bottom and the water is so clean, maybe the cleanest. Also, there is silicon in the sand reflecting the sunlight, so the water is so warm, even when the temperature dipped the water remained very comfortable, and I am a Southern gal who likes her water to be a warm bath so if I think it was comfortable, well you can take that to the bank. The kitchen was perfect because we enjoyed cooking out, or eating in, and avoiding restaurants. We can go to restaurants anyday this was about quiet times, and family, just a perfect vacation, evening campfires, and in the case of this rental the pictures are extremely accurate, awesome views!!! Bring your cameras, you will end up with 300 photographs worthy of a postcard.

After renting a few disappointing homes over the past few years, this lakefront rental was a breath of fresh air!! We've already decided that this will be our annual summer rental. The interior of the house is beautiful, clean and updated and the outside is perfect. The sandy bottom, gradual shallow entry lake was ideal for our 3 children. My husband and I were actually able to sit on the deck and talk while we watched them safely play in the water. The location is also great. It's far enough to feel like you're "away from it all" but close enough to have fun day trips and eat out. Overall, it was the best family vacation we've ever had and we can't wait for next year!

My family and I just spent a beautiful long weekend at Mark's lovely home for the second time! The house is beautiful and very well kept. Everything is so nice from the furniture and bedrooms to the beautiful porch with the lake only steps away from us. There is so much room in the house for all of our extended family that came to visit. The view of the lake is spectacular, better than any I have seen. Our trip was filled with canoe rides that had us exploring the whole lake and watching sunsets. Some of us even stayed up to watch the sunrise! The weather was in the 80's for the entire weekend which made every one extremely happy. It was absolutely beautiful there and no one wanted to leave! Mark was very accommodating and easy to work with. This is the second year we have rented again and there is no doubt we will be renting next year and the year after. It has become a family tradition that we hope continues for many year to come!! Thank you Mark!

We spent our 2nd Christmas vacation at Mark's home and had another great time. Aside from the snow covered lake, great mountain views and cozy fireplace, we also had a great ski week. King Pine is 10-15 minutes down the road. They are a small mountain that is great for anyone. They also offer cross country skiing, snow shoeing, skating and snow tubing. After a day outdoors, we had fabulous dinners, nice wine and the kids slept great. We loved our week and look forward to returning next year
Owner response: Though most of our renters stay during the summer, our home makes a great winter retreat. King Pine is a great beginner mountain. Some guests snowmobile on the lake, others stay to ice fish, and most seem to enjoy their stay as much as the summer guests.

We spent 4 wonderful days at this beautiful home. We were taken by the view from the moment we walked in the door. Coffee in the morning and sunsets on the deck with that view! We made sure we were home each day in time to watch the sunset over the lake and mountains from the deck. So beautiful and relaxing! The house is charming, warm and clean. It was great to have the fireplace. Mark is very helpful and easy to work with. He called our first day to make sure everything was OK. We didn't want to leave, but we will be back! We hope to rent again this winter and plan on renting for a week next summer. A couple of minor suggestions would be to have some reading lamps in the living room. There is a reading lamp by the sofa, but there are none by the other chairs. Also, it would be nice to have a TV in the living room so that you do not have to sit in the bedroom to watch TV. Go Celtics!

I had the pleasure of spending a week at this beautiful home. My husband loved it for his jet ski, we rented a boat, my daughter had so much fun. We used the canoe and kayak that Mark has there for his guest. We ate outside and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets from the deck. Family came up from NY to visit us and couldn't not believe the house, view, and atmoshere that they seen. We will certainly be there next year, I only regret that I rented another home for August and didn't rent this house again. Next summer we will be there for both of our vacations instead of renting 2 different. Mark was very nice, worked with us, and he even called us to make sure all was well. That I thought was very comforting. The kitchen is beautiful, the deck, the 2 bathrooms and we stood outside all of the time and was in the water. I especially liked the soft sand in the water and not all dirty (mirky) and rocky. He had just bought a new grill the week before we got there. We also enjoyed playing basketball. I highly recommend this home to who ever wants to just come and relax. The most important thing, it was clean and Mark certainly keeps up with the house. Can't wait to return. We are actually looking into renting it in the fall also. No words describe the special time you spend with your family when you are on vacation, especially when it is in this home!!!!!

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful home along with some other family for a long weekend in October. We all had such a wonderful time. We relaxed in the mornings on the deck with a cup of coffee and enjoyed a glass of wine (or two!)in front of the campfires outside in the evenings. The house was spectacular. Warm, inviting and fully equipped with everything you may need. The fall colors were peak the weekend we were there and the views from the lake were breathtaking! We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously and wished the weekend didn't have to end. We look forward to our next stay at this beautiful lakeside home.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at your beautiful lake house on Ossipee Lake for peak foliage this past October 9-12, 2008. The weather was exceptional and the view of the lake from the bedroom, the livingroom, the kitchen and of course, the deck were breathtaking-at all hours of the day and night. Some of the mornings were chilly, but I was amazed that it did not take long before the house warmed up, quite comfortably. For women who may be interested in renting, you will be pleasantly pleased to prepare meals and clean up in this beautiful updated kitchen-it is literally effortless! There is ample storage for a week's worth of groceries in pantry and refrigerator. But, if you did not shop, you are within minutes of the grocery store if you need to get any provisions and convenience stores are even closer for a "quick run". We had a great campfire at night outside one night and enjoyed a warm fire and a glass of wine by the fireplace inside the next. It was hard to leave the house just to take our day trips to the nearby Kancamaugus Highway and No Conway Village - - but, even harder to leave our pleasant stay overall. There is NOTHING LACKING about staying at this house - our family enjoyed themselves immensely and we definitely will be back. Many, many thanks to our gracious landlords for providing all the creature comforts we could ever need to make our stay a most memorable one.

My wife, 2 brothers, wives, and their children had the pleasure of staying here this past October 8- 12. Did we have a nice stay? Let's just say you never saw people stalling NOT to leave a place as we were! It was almost comical. Beautiful mountains out the back deck, star lit nights, camp fires outside, fire place indoors. It was the most restful , relaxing, visually exciting, and fun experience I've ever had. Cap it off with 2 bald eagles flying no more than 100 feet right out our back door 2 consecutive mornings and you have a winning recipe for total enjoyment. The question isn't "Did we have an enjoyable experience?", it's "When can we get up there as soon as possible?"

We spent 3 nights here and although it rained quite a bit, we enjoyed it very much. We did manage to get in a long canoe trip one morning; otherwise we read, played music and watched the Obama/McCain debate (Go Obama!). Great view of the White MOuntains at the end of the lake. We'll come back for sure.

Our family (ages 2-60+) enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July week at this home on Ossipee Lake. The home itself is beautiful and loaded with lovely amenities. It is a very comfortable place to spend time with family and friends. The lake speaks for itself; stunning mountain views, sandy bottom and clean beaches. It was a joy. We hope to go back again.

I just got back from this beautiful lake house...Let me tell you when you walk in this place it will take your breath away...The Pictures on the site are nice, But do this house no justice..From the great granite counter tops..To the fully stocked kitchen...Plenty of room to get a card game together, Or to just sit by the large glass window, And watch the sunset and relax. You walk outside to a huge deck with plenty of seats, And the lake is literaly 5 feet away, And the lake is crystal clear.I enjoyed my experiance at this house, And hope to return soon...Mark was a class act, And helpful in all questions asked..No matter how stupid they were.haha

WOW!!! The pictures on this site definitely don't do this home enough justice. If you're interested, ask Mark (the property owner) to send you some add'l ones. We travelled from Texas, and a bit skeptical about renting from the web "site unseen" ... but were pleasantly surprised, and had a great experience. We've travelled the country near and far over the years, stayed in luxury hotels and other rentals ... and this by far was one of the best choices we're ever made. Location, location, location ... a very lovely home ... this place has it all. Fantastic job on the interior updates ... hardwood floors, granite countertops, open concept, well-maintained. And, not only is Ossippee Lake gorgeous, but Center Ossippee is a good central location to many different areas such as Wofleboro, North Conway, etc. We wanted to stay forever ... maybe we can convince Mark to sell it to us! Waking up to the spectacular view each and every day was awesome. Mark is wonderful to work with ... very accomodating and responsive. We highly recommend you experience this for yourself. Thanks Mark ... we'll be back!

Now that we're back to the normal (dreadful) life, I have a minute to tell you that...in almost 20 years of renting vacation houses... your Ossipee Lake house is one of two that we'd return to. The other is in St. Thomas, so you're in good company. Everything was great; best kitchen we've seen in a long time...ideal setup for cooking, plus reading and playing cards. The shallow, sandy, CLEAN lakefront, (right there!)is great for relaxing and playing. Spectacular sunsets (rivaling Santa Fe). And the greatest sunrise on our last morning. Overall, EXACTLY what we needed to end our summer. Thanks.

Fabulous location! We spent a week in the summer of 2007 here with four adults and three children (3-8yrs). Our kids loved the lake as it has a sandy bottom and is very shallow (too shallow for true adult swimming). The area is quiet, and the views are great. The house is spacious and comfortable for a group. My kids enjoyed the large "bunk room" with its own bathroom. The Gepperts are very nice and easy to deal with. We would certainly return.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in this house last July. The house and lake were fantastic. My preschool-age child was able to stand and play around in the area just off the dock, so it is definitely great for a family with young ones. I recommend it highly, and the views are incredible!

Our family just returned from a Fall vacation in this rental. We loved it! I have 2 children ages 8 and 9 and they felt right at home. They have a large bedroom off the living area that has several beds and play space just perfect for kids, or adults. The setting could not have been better, with mountain views across the lake that change with the lighting through out the day. Even on the one rainy day, we enjoyed sitting by the fire doing our puzzle and looking out on the lake. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked and very nice. They have a very nice welcome book with loads of very helpful info on the area and great things to do. We definitely want to come back!

A group of friends met up here and were pleasantly surprised. The entire setup was wonderful, with a very homey feel. This doesn't feel like a camp at all--the home is very well stocked for visitors. The common spaces are large, the lake is beautiful, and the kitchen can handle a good amount of cooking. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. The views of the lake and the surrounding mountains are absolutely spectacular. We loved the entire setup, especially the expansive first floor kitchen and living room area. We also appreciated the bunkhouse, which allowed us to segregate the older teenage children from the rest of us, allowing everyone to get to bed when they wanted. The weather was perfect the entire week of our stay, so the kids were able to swim in the lake every day. The Ossipee location is also great for day trips. We played a couple of rounds of golf at local courses, which were only minutes away from the house, and we were also able to take a short drive to Squam Lake to visit the Nature Center and take the Golden Pond boat tour. We hope to be able to rent again so that we may visit the many other attractions in the area.

(Homeowner's Comment: This note was entered by our guest and is submitted verbatim) Our stay on Lake Ossipee this February was one to be remembered. Besides the fact that the weather was beautiful our accommodations were first class. The house was decorated very tastefully but comfortable. When we walked in the door and took our shoes off we didn't want to go back out to enjoy the NH winter weather which was why we were there. The kitchen area is the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal with all the amenities of a fine home and a breathtaking view to top it all off. I will seize the opportunity to stay there again when I get a chance. Summer or winter it is a perfect spot to relax. Thank you again! Colin M Neill Maintenance Supervisor Shelter Harbor Golf Club

If you enjoy panoramic views of mountains, a crystal clear lake and an evening sunset dropping behind the mountains, then this is the place for you. This was our end of the season vacation before sending our first child off to college. It was important to have a quiet place to regroup, before separating. The house itself is beautifully appointed and you feel like your at a retreat. The furniture and decorations are beautiful. The kitchen is very large and you can sit at the wrap around counter and view the activity on the lake. This house invited you to enjoy each others company. Although, there is a TV with a dish, there is plenty to do and most likely the TV will never be on. Mark and Maureen graciously share their canoe, kayak, tubes and badmiton set. The only problem we had was the time went by too fast. If you want to spend some quality time with your family, I highly recommend this beautiful lake house and hope we can retreat back there again soon.

My family of 10 (including my kids' friends) just completed our stay at this Ossipee Lake waterfront home and what a great vacation it was! The cabins - there are 2 - were fully furnished and supplied, meaning full sets of dishes, pot & pans, utensils, etc., which was very helpful. The "open concept" home worked well for us as there was plenty of room for all of us to gather and eat or relax or play cards, etc. The lake water is clear and the shallow depth of the water with the hard sandy bottom is ideal for kids. The views of the lower White Mountains were spectacular, especially at sunset. The bedrooms were large enough, especially one room that has two sets of bunk beds and a day bed. If multiple families stay here at the same time, this room can serve as a "barracks" room for up to 5 kids. We used it to put all the unmarried girls in one room while the unmarried boys stayed in the detached cabin. There is also plenty of room in either the detached cabin or the barracks room for air mattresses, cribs, or cots, should you need additional sleeping arrangements. Overall, my family had a wonderful stay. The cabin is located just a few minutes from attractions such as the White Mtns, Weirs Beach, Meredith, and the shopping outlets at North Conway. The closest golf course is just 5 miles away. Lots of book stores to browse through; restaurants if you wish for something different in a dining experience. We even drove to Portland to attend a baseball game (1 hour's drive). I highly recommend this place for a family vacation! The owners, Mark and Maureen, showed their care in working with us and concern in making our stay enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Write to me with any questions! Sincerely, Red Hansen
