Maria: My husband and I were super happy spending one of the best holidays ever in Vancouver. Having two daughters living here, in this beautiful city, makes a one visit a year to bC a must. I think we have found the place to stay and you'll be hearing soon from us. My husband loved the central location, the guitar and the piano. I loved your patio with the amazing flowers, and all the baking pans to experiment with new cookie recepies. We will highly recommend it! Sincerely.

We travelled from Williams Lake to this beautiful welcoming home. Thank you for allowing us to be here. We did all the Vancouver highlights... what a perfect location! Loved the restaurants on Commercial... but our favourite? Sitting on the back deck in the morning sunshine. Thank you again. Allan, Leah, Tim, Rebecca, Alexandra, Sarah, Nicole, Jacob, Sami

This was the most charming house full or personality and character! We had 7 girls and 2 adults. We had plenty of room for sleeping, showering, making and eating food and gathering in the living room. There is art everywhere - adorable, quirky handmade items everywhere you look. We made a scavenger hunt out of it all one day to see if the girls could tell us which room had what in it. The dining room table was big enough for our whole group and the kitchen was perfect for what we needed. We used the washing machine and dryer one day and even the grill out back. I loved sitting in the red chairs with my morning coffee. The little "secret garden" as we called it was so peaceful. We had no parking issues at all. We utilized front street parking as well as the alleyway out back. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The owners are so kind and return emails promptly. The manager who met us at the house the first and last days was very friendly and helpful. From the house we visited Whistler to go zip lining, Richmond to go killer whale watching, Jericho Beach to go kayaking and we went to a chocolate buffet for dinner one night. I would not hesitate to go back here again. I highly recommend it for all ages.

The seven girls and two adults from Girl Scout Troop # 1588 love your house! It was perfect for the nine of us. We enjoyed Kayaking @ Jericho Beach, Killer Whale watching in Stevenson, ziplining in Whistler and doing Service Projects with a Girl Guide Unit here in Vancouver. We also loved shopping and the Chocolate Buffet at the Sutton Place Hotel. Thank you for renting us your beautiful home! Tammy, Lisa, Makenzie, Emily, Ashley, Juliette, Sara, Paige, Sara

To the Sammarcos. Thank you for opening your home to our foursome from California. We enjoyed exploring your eclectic home, filled with art, literature and collectibles. It was interesting to discover the various personalities of the family based on the artwork and photos. You have all obviously lived a life rich on travel and experiences. We enjoyed the rambunctious court-yard garden, and the views of the mountains out back, as well as the trips to Lynn Canyon (with its free suspension bridge, towering cedars, fern grottos, moss-cloaked boulders, and emerald-gold pools), Granville Island (I fell in love with Oyamas excellent meat and cheeses, and discovered delicious lemon-rind-stuffed green olives... and I always hated olives!), Stanley Park with its stunning views of the city, and the soul-filling drive up the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler, with sun-kissed glaciers and dancing clouds.

What a wondrous week we've head at your home. We felt comfortable and right at home from the very beginning. We loved everything. The family's original artwork, the eclectic good energy of the place, the neighbourhood and the proximity to everything. Even with 8 of us at times there was enough room to spread out. Would love to come again. The best part of the week - our son and team USA winning the Gold at the wheelchair rugby world championship!

What a great experience this was. The vibes are great in this house. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were "home", so imagine how hard it is for us to leave (maybe our flight will be cancelled!). Plus, we felt as though we were in a museum open 24/7. Total eye candy! P.S. one good turn deserves another. We too have left supplies for the next guest.

Hello All, Our stay was very comfortable. Perhaps a little too short (3 days) after cruising for the past 11 days. Your art reminds me of my great, great Uncle William Zorak and his daughter Dolph Ipcar at Maine, USA. Very unique. It was nice to have the family all together at the end of the trip. Even two 82 year old moms navigating the stairs. That was exercise for them. Mel was very sweet and helpful. You have a good manager. (P.S. we left some supplies for your next guest!)

Dear Sammarco Family, Your place was nice. very homey. Interesting decor. Back patio was a great place to kick back with some margaritas, and wine, and beer... Great place to have a good time with friends. The babies enjoyed it too. Hope everything is still intact. Ciao. (Gary, Molly, Isaac) Your place was a pleasant surprise. The pictures online do not do it justice. this was a great way to experience Vancouver from outside downtown, and we met quite a few characters on our trips back and forth. Thank you all for making your house available. We hope to be back one day! (Greg, Kate, Chloe)

Dear Sammarco Family, Many thanks. It was really a pleasant quiet place with enough for all five of us to enjoy the long waited family reunion. This home has helped us create precious memory which we will all keep within our hearts and share across the Pacific Ocean (Japan-Canada).

Hi. Just a few words to thank you for the use of your wonderful house. Everything we could possibly need was at our finger tips. We used the house for our base touring many places in Vancouver and its surrounds.. Two days in Whistler were unforgettable as was the train trip back to Vancouver. My 16 year old grandson and myself have just returned from "walking Grouse Grind". He has recovered but I am not sure if I ever will. What a climb. The ladies have found the shopping second to none and have spent many happy hours investigating most of them. Once again thanks for the use of your wonderful "house". And we would have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers.

A pleasant and wonderful place to stay in Vancouver, close to the city and surrounding area. The accommodation is excellent. The house itself is a veritable treasure house of paintings, pictures and works of art and it was a privilege to be allowed to stay here. Mel, the manager, helped us to arrive safely and settle in comfortably after a long drive from Penticton. He was always ready to advise and help and eased our eventual departure. we very much like to be able to return here some time in the future. Sincere thanks.

Our Olympic home for the past week turns out to be the gold medal winner! We loved the location which was close to the bus and train lines. It allows us to get around the city and to our sporting event venues with ease Everyone in Vancouver was hospitable and the weather was fantastic! Thanks for everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at your house. We somewhat felt at home. I am an art historian and independent curator from Montreal. I looked at the magazines featuring Carlo’s work and I appreciated Maria’s paintings and drawings presented in the house. She somewhat has a sense of color and something affirmative in the line of her drawings. I also wish I could have been able to attend her school when I was young. There is some of your liveliness in the house and I appreciated that feel. I also enjoyed the neighbourhood, close to everything from UBC to downtown. Welcome back next Tuesday. Thank you

Thank you so much for putting your house on offer for families like ours to stay in and enjoy. My sister’s wedding was wonderful and our whole family was able to gather here and enjoy the day before and after the special event. You home is beautiful and cozy- my twin girls loved the yard and the “cat spotting.” Best regards

We really loved our week in Vancouver! I specially liked your old furniture. It is nice not to see IKEA for a change! To see your boys growing up on the pictures throughout the house is really interesting, we always made time and guesses: who was… how old… were… Hope you are having a great time in Italy right now and a safe rip back home to Vancouver.
