We think all of our cabins are special but this incredible cabin uniquely stands on its own. Whether you want a romantic getaway, gathering with friends, or great family fun, this house has everything you could possibly want to entertain you, sooth you, and nullify your hectic life. If you have children then you will love this house because it offers something for everyone-privacy and peace for the parents, fun for the kids, family fun for everyone, and lots and lots to do. Winter or summer we recommend it highly for your vacation fun.
Let's start with the adults- because this house is great for everyone, not just families. The upstairs bedroom is luxurious and lovely with king bed, hardwood floors, view from the bedrooms window, and a wonderful and relaxing double whirlpool tub in the master bath. You will feel very at-home in this room but also feel pampered and special. A second bedroom on the main floor has a queen log bed and log bedroom suite again with its own private bath, hardwood floors, special moose and bear bedding and all amenities that you would like in your own mountain cabin.
The living room/kitchen/dining room is the wonderful place you would love to be. The furniture is comfortable, well-chosen, and perfect for the mountains. Cook in the gourmet kitchen while everyone gathers at the bar, dining room table or just mingles in the living room. From every corner of this room you see the panoramic view that encompasses 180 degrees of majestic mountains, the New River meander through the valley, and acres and acres of Christmas trees. Wow!!! The large screen TV and stone faced fireplace also enhance the beauty of this wonderful room.
The lower level features a family room with wide screen television and an additional gas fireplace. There is also a fourth bedroom on this level, with queen bed, and a fourth full bath.
Step out onto the deck and breathe the incredible mountain air from this loft of beauty. Dine out here or just sit and rock and feel the tension and smallness of everyday life just melt away to larger contemplations of nature, beauty and "why don't I live in the mountains?" If you can't get outside because its winter, then just sit inside with the same incredible view, flames coming from the fireplace, and wood, wood, and more wood. Exposed beams and a 30 ft high cathedral ceiling give you the feeling of a king in their true castle.
Kids and Adults at River Mt. Cabin- Ok, the third bedroom is definitely for kids- with log bunkbeds and totally their own space kids and teen will love this room. There is also the loft with sleeper sofa for extra kids or adults. The loft is also incredible with a view that is awesome in case you want to read OR play foosball, billiards, cards on the card table, or any of the many other games that are available for everyone to play. There is even a real video arcade which has 100's of games on it for the kids/adults to play!! How much fun is that? Not fun enough? There’s ping pong in the basement, or go out to the…
Hot Tub located just outside the downstairs playroom is one of the best hot tubs to be found that seats 5-6 persons overlooking the incredible view. Private but wonderful- for adults and children alike.
Best of all- this house stocks good bikes for the whole family to go riding on the historic Railroad Grade Rd where you can bike on level roads that follow the river for miles and miles with incredible scenery and serenity. In addition, if you want to go tubing down the river, just get your river upright floating chair from the garage, pack a picnic and your drink and float down the river for as long as you like. The New River is slow and peaceful and loads of fun. Fishing is great as well with local rainbow trout that abounds in this river.
This house is located 10 miles from Boone, 15 miles to Blowing Rock. Also, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Historic Todd, 20 min to Valle Crucis, and Merle Fest. This is a great choice for a great vacation home.
For larger groups, consider renting this cabin with nearby Buena Vista.
Please remember, 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Some friends and I stayed here last weekend and it was awesome!! There was 8 of us, and this place had plenty of room. The view was great and the home is absolutely beautiful. There was so much stuff to do in the house (pool, fooseball,playstation, ping pong, and plenty of bicycles to ride) we only left once!

We stayed in this cabin last weekend with three other couples, and we had an amazing time! The amenities of the cabin are all of high quality--these owners did NOT cut corners on anything. The view, the house, the hot tub, the kitchen, the supplies, the mountain breeze and even accessibility were wonderful. Our view overlooked the river as we watched several groups tube through the river. We really hope to go back again and would love to stay longer next time! Thank you for providing an amazingly relaxing getaway :)

My family rented this cabin the week of July 20th of this year. We had the best time. Everything was provided for us, things couldn't have been easier. We loved sitting around the big table and grilling on the deck. We kayaked, went horseback riding, played games, enjoyed the swing and gliders, and most of all, the views. I woke early one morning to fog completely surrounding us, it was beautiful! We have raved about our trip and all our friends and family have loved seeing our pictures. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful.

WOW, what a house! We have stayed in several of your other cabins and have always enjoyed the way your company operated and takes care of the guests. This house was also wonderful and the view fantastic!!! We ate on the deck, soaked up the fabulous view and went for bike rides along the river. Fishing was also fun for our grandchilden and we will have to come back when we can go into the river. It is a bit cold right now. Loved all the amenties, children had a great time, private, and just lovely.

Wonderful!!! Beautiful views and amazing cabin! My family, along with their friends has a GREAT time. We arrived Monday just before the short period of snow. The snow along with the highlands was just beautiful. The remainder of the time was nice and sunny. I guess we had the both of great weather (snow and sunshine). This vacation was primarily for my girls, one of which is graduating high school this June. The girls were accompanied by two of their friends also. My husband and myself could relax while they enjoyed all of the fantastic amenities. We also visited Blowing Rock, Mystery Hill, Grandfather Mtn. Even after all this, my family enjoyed the cabin most of all. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere.

My husband I and our three children (ages 10, 12, & 16) stayed at this cabin for a week in July. What a wonderful and relaxing vacation! So nice that there are bikes and tubes on site! Lovely amenities and my husband especially enjoyed your gas grill!

Your cabin is one of the best we've stayed in! So many fun activities(pool, atari, foozball, pingpong) and we especially enjoyed the hot tub and the view! We watched DVD's as well as movies we taped while here. Our 12 and 10 year old sons enjoyed their loft bedroom. And our 16 year old daughter especailly was happy to have her own bedroom with private bath! We have lots of rain(even got caught in a drizzle while biking) but enjoyed the cabin all the same! It was wonderful to have the flat road so close by; but that hill back up was quite a challenge! We didn't get to tube but hope to come back and try it another time. WONDERFUL to have the very well stocked kitchen and great grill! I especially enjoyed the covered porch area!

What a great time we had at your lovely mountain home! We celebrated two birthdays - one daughter's 18th and the others 21st birthday - very special! The home is beautifully furnished, the hot tub was fantastic and the views, from all of the comfy outdoor seating, were grand. We "tubed" twice and enjoyed the bikes as well. Hopefully we will visit again and thanks for all of the very special thoughtful touches!
