I'm only 3 days into coming back to work after staying at Skip & Barbara's property in Burnside and I am so wishing I was back! My family reunion of 15 had a fantastic time. The house was ultra accommodating and so spacious. The kids had a blast owning the loft and all of the adults had their own bedroom. The dual kitchen space is ideal for a large group - we ate 3 full meals a day for 3 days in the home and never ran out of space. We spent more than 75% of every waking moment on the back patio playing cards, relaxing, catching up, playing corn hole, doing chalk drawings with the kids and of course, feeding the fish. Please accept this note as my highest personal recommendation to consider this property!

We rented both houses from Barbara and Skip. We had a total of 26 people on our family vacation. When we arrived, Barbara and Skip did a great job showing us around to learn about all the features of the homes. The whole family was impressed with these two lovely homes and the children loved the loft bedrooms. The houses provided easy arrangements for family meals and family discusions. The homes are so large it was easy to find space for private time. All the bedrooms are very large and there was room for all our "stuff". Our two days spent on the water of Lake Cumberland was just fantastic. The homes are very close to shopping, marina, and golf. We did it all and had a great time.

If you're looking for the perfect vacation rental, look no further. My family gets together every summer and this was by far the best place we've stayed. This is no small feat since we have 24 people and the owner was kind enough to secure a second rental across the street to accomodate us. We used the main house for dining and entertaining; the two kitchens proved a great asset as we love to cook. The decks made the perfect place for outdoor dining and conversing. Additionally, the proximity to the lake and numerous other amenities made this a great location if you've got kids. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful and were also very knowledgeable about what to do and what to see. For those of you not familiar with Lake Cumberland, if you have heard the water level of the lake is down, it is but don't be put off. It is still a beautiful lake with plenty of draw for even the biggest boats. And even though we were there over the 4th of July weekend, it never felt crowded or dangerous. Really, I just can't say enough positive things about our experience here. We'll be back in 2010!

What an amazing house! Our family of 17, albeit not all at the same time, fit into this house like it was made for us. Everyone had their own sleeping space and enough common areas to be together or apart. The Burnside Marina was so conveniant that it was so easy to access and enjoy the Lake from the water. Barb and Skip, the owners made so many good suggestions adn were lovely to do our planning with. It will stand out in our minds as "A Reunion to Remember". Great days in rain or shine with the house being so wonderful.

My siblings and our families (total of 12) met for our 1st annual family get-together at this beautiful house on the lake. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the home, the lake and the surroundings in general! The pictures on the website are nice, but do not do justice to the reality of the home and lake! We had morning coffee and evening drinks on the beautiful deck that overlooks the lake every day. The house had everything we could possibly need and more. One of the greatest things about the house was the fact that even though everyone was together in the same house, there was enough room for each person, couple or family to have their own space when they wanted. Very relaxing! We definitely plan to go back! P.S. Barb and Skip couldn't be nicer, more down-to-earth people. Enjoy!

Our family (9 of us) spent our annual vacation at this lovely home in June. The house was so roomy and nice. Our favorite spot was the beautiful outdoor covered seating area off the lower level kitchen. We could all fit around the tables and it was such a pleasant place to spend time relaxing. Skip and Barb were very accomodating. We had a wonderful family time!

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home a few weeks ago and I enjoyed the space that it had, there were 17 of us and you would have never known it. Barb and Skip were great, always there if we needed them, from simple directions to picking up some vegetables to share with us. We especially enjoyed the eggrolls!! I felt very comfortable and would certainly recommend this vacation spot to a friend.

Our extended family of 13 stayed at this home the week of Hurricane Dennis. Although we had some gloomy days, we had a wonderful vacation. This house is great. It has plenty of room for everyone. The location of this home is great. The boat dock is maybe a mile away and it is just outside of Somerset, which makes it nice if you are needing supplies. We would definitely stay here again. Skip and Barb are the greatest.

I took my 12 member staff to this lovely home for our 4th annual retreat. This was the best yet, due in large part to the wonderful setting and comfortable home. It is beautifully decorated, has everything one could ever want in ammenities and the owners being just across the street was supportive. What a wonderful home they have created to share! We will certainly return and recommend it highly to everyone.
