We just got back yesterday;( We had a great time and loved the rental. We went with our four year old son and it was so nice to have him able to play in a fenced in back yard. He called it our "Hawaii house." It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. We loved it, loved it, loved it. The beach was so close to the house and very quiet. We went to Waikiki for a wedding and I was so glad to get back to our little house on the quiet beach. I highly recommend this rental!

My husband and i along with our ten year old son spent a week in this rental. The owners live on site and were just delightful. Their son had recently planted a vegetable and herb garden and he encouraged us to help ourselves to his veggies. We traveled all over the island and never found a better beach. The best day of our trip was just lounging on the beach. The house offered access to beach gear, coolers and beach towels. The house was spotlessly clean. There are several beautiful framed photographs taken by the owner. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit Oahu.

My mother, 2 year old son and I stayed here for a week. It was everything we could want. Brian, Karen, and James were so polite and friendly. The house was great and a perfect location for the beach. They provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay and I would definitely stay there everytime we returned to the island. I highly reccommend staying here, and its a great location for families.

We lived in Hawaii for 13 years and really wanted to avoid Waikiki and the other resorts. To us, staying in a resort is a hotel experience that can happen almost anywhere. Staying at Paradise Found we found exactly what we were looking for: a peaceful part of the island, close to the beaches without crowds, relaxed atmosphere, and easy access to restaurants and site seeing. What we didn't expect was the incredible aloha shared by the family. They were very respectful of our space and privacy, but completely open with us. By the end of the trip, the apartment felt like home and the family like dear friends. For anyone doubting the VRBO vs. Hotel concept, let me be clear: this is for folks who want to experience Hawaii as lived by locals. You do not get a/c, turn down service, room service, or an attached spa. What you do get is a vacation done your way in a setting that almost anyone living in Hawaii would love to have.

We have been to Oahu several times, as my husband was stationed there in the Army before he retired so we love the Island. In the seven years my husband lived there he really never explored this side of the Island. We are so glad we stayed at Paradise Found, Waimanalo Beach is now our favorite place on the Island. It's very quiet and relaxing, not very many people and Brian and Karen are amazing people. We loved playing with their dogs Curly and Bella, they kept us company and kept us from missing our dogs so much. I want to thank Brian, Karen, and James for letting us feel so welcome and treating us like we have been long time friends. I have told a lot of my friends about this place, hopefully they will be visiting soon.

My visiting guests stayed in Brian and Karen's charming rental in May. It is a clean, casual and comfortable space attached to their own own home, but with excellent privacy, access to a lovely yard with views of the Ko'olau mountains, and just 2 minutes' walk to gorgeous Waimanalo beach. Truly an authentic, Hawaii country neighborhood, as far removed from the tinsel and crowds of Waikiki as you can imagine. Brian and Karen are warm and friendly folks, and will make you feel right at home while giving you plenty of space to yourself. Location is quiet and undeveloped, and perfectly situated for road trips to the North Shore, if you can tear yourself away from the aquamarine waters and uncrowded sands of Waimanalo Beach.

All I can say is wow.....we spent 10 nights at Paradise Found and it was wonderful!! The accomodations are great--everything you need to relax in paradise! Brian,Karen, James, Curly and Bella are a great family! The dogs helped keep us from missing ours quite as much. The beaches are so beautiful and very uncrowded. As others have mentioned, through the week there are only a handful of people, and even on weekends it's still not busy! Everything you need is very close and you have easy driving access to great sights. A visit to Keneke's is a must for plate lunches!!! You can't beat this rental for an amazing vacation.

Great Place to Relax

This was our first visit to Hawaii, and other than research on the internet we had no idea of what to expect. It just is not reality until you arrive and experience the sights, sounds and smells for yourself that you realize that you are about to stay in an exceptional location. Once through the traffic around Honolulu the surroundings were amazing on the way to Waimanalo and our residence for the week. Our home away from home at Brian and Karen's was perfect for us and was very clean and had everything we could possibly need for our stay, including boogie boards, beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The beach, amazing. The color of the water, an awesome shade of blue similar to the Caribbean. Since the beach is only steps away we got as much beach time as possible mixed in with driving to many other numerous locations. Really nice waves for swimming and not dangerous at all, plus shade in the afternoon hours. We did manage to experience several hikes around the island, including a couple of "lung busters", and were able to enjoy fantastic views from the very elevated locations. Paradise Found is a very quiet and convenient location that lets you relax and is easy to start excursions from. It did not take long to figure out how to get anywhere on the island and we did cover both sides while there. Too many places to see in one trip so we definitely will have to come again. Brian, Karen and their son James are very nice people and it was a pleasure to visit with them and pump them for information about their home and island. Cannot forget the dogs, Bella and Curly. We love dogs and these two were hilarious and very friendly. Every time we left and came back they would greet us at the gate. Very nice. I highly recommend Paradise Found and would not hesitate to visit there again. It is not a fancy property, but it is maintained extremely well and felt like home to us while there. First let me say that the family who owns this property is friendly, personable, and extremely helpful. If we had questions, they were there, otherwise we had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed them so much that we invited them to stay with us should they ever visit Alaska. They also had two little dogs who were pretty comical. We still talk about little Bella and Curly. The beach is across the street and it truly is an amazing sight. We had miles of sand largely to ourselves. At the most crowded we saw this beach, we probably had a total of 15 people in view. Small waves, azure water, an amazing view of mountains in the distance--this spot truly is a little-known gem. The apartment itself is clean, well-stocked, and just fine for a couple and perhaps a child or two. You will not be disappointed with a vacation here.

remote beauty

We are truly thankful that we chose 'Paradise Found', Brian and Karens place. The apartment is 20 meters from the beach, which is tranquil and beautiful. We watched some beautiful sunrises with happy songs from tropical birds and crashing waves. We hung in the tarzan swing and walked as far as we wanted on white, soft sand. At the house the two most entertaining, fast and loving dogs greets you with happy kisses, if you like, every morning. Our daughter who is four could not wait to get up in the morning to play with them. There is a big, nice bbq in the garden, wonderful to cook outside, looking at the stars and the contours of the lush mountains. The best about the place however I would say are: Brian, Karen and James. They are all so warm, fun and welcoming people. We made so many great memories, thank you guys.

When are we going back???

Okay, all I can keep thinking since we got home is, "When are we going back???" Brian and Karen's place feels so personable, in fact, it is hard to imagine another person staying in the place now as it really felt like our own little apartment. This is also because there are several rooms, an entrance/kitchen/living area with a futon/couch, the bedroom area with a television and dvd/vhs player, the kitchen, and the spacious bathroom. The place is extremely clean, extremely well equipped-we couldn't believe how well stocked was the kitchen with the proper cooking appliances and utensils. We were able to make many meals here and there is a nice little refrigerator (not too small) with a freezer. The bathroom is very roomy and also stocked with a plentitude of towels, soap, even sunscreen and lotion! There is a wonderful shower and also a bathtub. There are beautiful hardwood floors, a very comfortable bed and the place is accented very nicely with Peggy Hopper artwork, lovely wooden furniture and Brian's photos. We loved the windows and left them open day and night and couldn't get enough of the sound of the many birds in the morning. The neighborhood is very quiet and you really feel "in" the neighborhood, not at all exposed and the walk to the beach is literally across the street. Waimanalo Beach is gorgeous! With white sands and warm, clear blue-green waters. We were visiting in summer and it was fun to play in the small, safe waves with beautiful views of the nearby mountains and islands. We also liked this beach because unlike other Oahu beaches it offers shade as there are some trees nearby which look like pine trees. Their home is also very close to many neat things, such as hiking, Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, Lani Kai Beach, and other places. But literally you could spend every day going to Waimanalo Beach not even leaving the neighborhood and have a very relaxing, fun and romantic trip. Karen and Brian really give you privacy but are always there if you need anything and are so welcoming. Also, did I mention the great price?! Thanks Karen and Brian for a great stay! We hope to be back!

Awesome beach

This is a very homey and comfortable place. The location just blocks from a fabulous beach that is not crowded is the best feature. We had a very pleasant time although the weather was very humid (apparently unusual) and the property does not have air conditioning (there are fans). We were able to prepare all of our meals and do laundry which was really nice.

Our first vacation in Hawaii - stayed on 3 islands, the first being at Karen and Brian's comfortable condo. The condo was ideally located, both for touring the island and being a few minutes walk from one of the best beaches in Hawaii. Waimanalo beach was nearly deserted and was a peaceful haven. Brian and Karen were ideal hosts; they provided invaluable information, surf boards and other beach items and their gas BBQ was fantastic! The 2 dogs provided much entertainment value! We found the accommodation clean and comfortable and it had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I stayed at Paradise Found for 10 days in late April/ early May of 2009. The location is great. It is located in a residential neighborhood with no hotels or crowds. During the week, we may have been two of 4 or 5 people on the beach. We drove up and down the all the coastal areas of the island, and Waimanalo Beach is in our opinion, the best beach on the island. Probably the best beach we've ever visited. The condo owners are incredibly nice and friendly and go out of their way to make sure that your trip is a great trip. The condo itself is spacious and comfortable. We didn't miss our house at all while we were at Paradise Found. The yard is spacious and quiet, and you can't beat the views of the mountains. We just hope that we will have the chance to return sometime soon.

A most excellent experience. Far enough, yet close enough to Waikiki and other attractions without being stuck in traffic ! You couldn't ask to be any closer to the beach. A wonderful quite neighborhood which made for easy morning strolls.Everything we needed was made available to us. (Even during the unexpected blackout) Our hosts provided useful information that helped make our stay more enjoyable. We can only hope that our travels to another Hawaiian island will be just as accomodating We'll be back.

What a great find! We stayed at Paradise Found for one week for our wedding and honeymoon. Brian and his family are so nice and friendly that we felt right at home. He has put together lots of useful information for his guests. Waimanalo beach - which is just a few footsteps away from the condo - is the most beautiful beach we saw on our entire trip to the Hawaiian Islands. It is great for boogie boarding, the turquoise colors of the water are unbelieveable and most surprising, few people seem to visit this beach.

This place truly is Paradise Found! Brian and Karen have a special place here and make my wife and I feel totally welcome. Walking distance from the beach with friendly locals and without the overcrowding that the beaches in Waikiki suffer from. We have just returned from staying at Paradise found in Waimanalo, Ohau in September. The rental was spotless, plenty of bed linen, towels beach towels, in fact everything even down to salt and pepper! Brain and Karen are fantastic, non-intrusive, but if you need them for information or directions they are only too happy to help. We are already planning our return trip for the whale watching in 2010, and of course we will be staying at Paradise Found. I cannot say enough about this rental, it is a stone's throw from the most beautiful beach, although it would not be suitable for not -to good-swimmers, as the surf can be quite strong! But for sun bathing it is perfect, and deserted. The whole area is lovely and quiet! I would recommend this rental to anyone!

My husband and I came to Waimanolo Beach for our honeymoon, and stayed at Paradise Found for 9 days. It was amazing. We arrived late at night and found the house very easily, in the morning we couldn't believe the view from the house. Breath taking mountains on one side and crystal clear ocean on the other. Waimanolo Beach was so pristine, peaceful and most of the time the beach was our own private beach, hardly any other people around, which is suprising because it really is such a beautiful, unspoiled beach. Brian's family was so very hospitable and helpful during our stay, and made us feel right at home. The cottage was perfect for my husband and I, very cozy, comfortable, and quiet. We will most definetly come back in the future. Our honeymoon was a perfect 10!

My husband and I were planning our honeymoon in Hawaii and some neighbours recommended Waimanalo. We lucked into picking Paradise Found as our home away from home for our first week in Hawaii and were blown away with how beautiful the area is. The beach is fantastic, there is lots to do and driving is excellent. The suite at Paradise Found was perfect for making our morning coffee to take to the beach and for a relaxing BBQ dinner at night. Beautiful.

We agree with all the good comments that already here. And we'll try not to repeat them all again. Just want to add few things. First of all, my wife and I looked for a place at Oahu island for our wedding ceremony and honeymoon - Waimanalo Beach with white sand, serenity and seclusion from the Waikiki crowds turned out to be the best - just as we want it. We had a wedding ceremony just 300 yards from the front porch. And it was beautiful... Second thing is the house - very nice and clean and had everything for the two of us and even more. House is very spacious and light, bathroom is large and comfortable and with big mirrow(you'll need a nice relaxing shower after coming back from the beach and a mirrow to put a sunscreen on). Backyard is surrounded by trees with birds, have grill and wooden beds to lay on in the afternoons and evenings. The street that house is on is a beauty of itself, and the ocean is just a 3 minute walk away (we think it's better than houses that faces ocean up close - more noise). Hosts Karen and Brian are very helpful and frendly with everything. So we would recomment this place for those who seeks home comfort and relaxation. You will be nicely surprice by the combination of beautifull endless beach without any crowds.

My husband, myself and two teenaged daughters stayed at Paradise Found in Dec 2006 for four nights and it was, indeed, Paradise Found. I cannot recommend highly enough this beautiful spot for a vacation. Brian & Karen were very gracious hosts and the suite was large, very clean, nicely decorated, perfectly outfitted with the necessities, and best of all, a very short walk to the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. We will definitely be back to stay again!! (My apologies for taking almost a year to write this review!)

My husband and I stayed at Paradise Found in late Sept 2007. We could have not picked a better place to stay. The beach is a short walk, and it had to be one of the prettiest beaches around. Brian and Karen helped us out when needed. The place was very quiet and peaceful. I would stay here again.

Thank you for the use of your quiet beach rental. My husband & I enjoyed the views of the mountains from the backyard, the variety of songbirds, and the clean decor. The owners greeted us upon arrival & were very friendly. We loved the close proximity of Waimanalo Beach. Only one block to an immaculate, private heaven! We recommend this rental & hope to visit again. We also recommend the mixed plate lunch at Keneke's, the local salsa at Shima's grocery, and snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Thanks!

Paradise Found is just exactly what is says - Paradise Our stay here was perfect. Comfortable, relaxing and the proximity of the uncrowded beach couldn't have been nicer. From early morning walks and the sunrise; to sunbathing and swimming without all the tourists was an absolute pleasure. The drive along the coast is gorgeous and you aren't far from anything! We hope to stay again!

It's hard enough to leave O'ahu but when you find a location as wonderful as this it really makes the drive to the airport a very sad one. We've stayed in the same area before but their home was by far the cleanest and most welcoming. They were very knowledgeable about the island and its attractions and we can't say enough about the beach...great for long walks and the surf was perfect for swimming and for boogie boards (which were provided). Brian, Karen and their son James were excellent hosts. Our son was invited in to play for his video game fix :) and they even took Sean to the beach with them. This is a wonderful place in a beautiful neighborhood on the quiet and beautiful side of Oahu, just a block from a huge but quiet white sand beach. Wake to the gentle sound of bird song from every direction as you sip your morning coffee. Brian and Karen are most gracious and helpful hosts.

Great vacation rental. Very nice owners and exceptionally clean and well organized. If you want to stay in Oahu but away from all of the crowds, and don't mind having to drive to dinner, this is the best spot on the island.
