This beautifully renovated summer home is located on Herring Pond, one of Cape Cod's most tranquil fresh water ponds. Wake to the beauty of the water view from every room.
Enter the first floor into a large family room with a stone fireplace and L-shaped couch. Adjacent to the family room is a large dining area which comfortably seats eight. This past summer, we added a large light-filled screened-in porch, full of comfy sofas and chairs, perfect for lounging, reading or simply enjoying the quiet of the area. There is a fully-equipped kitchen off the living/dining room - all overlooking the water.
Also overlooking the water on the first floor is a large Master Bedroom Suite with king-size bed, full bath with double sinks; a Guest Room with a queen bed, and a large comfy arm chair, and full bath.
Overlooking the water on the second floor are two bedrooms with a sitting room in-between. One king bedded room and one queen bedded room, with an additional twin trundle bed. There is a couch and large TV with VCR in the sitting room. A full bath is located off of the Family Room. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking.
Wake Up and take a swim in the 1.5 mile pond, try your hand at rowing, or a sail the Sunfish. Or, head to one of the National Seashore Bay or Ocean beaches nearby. Perhaps you'd rather bike along the Bike Trail, which is 100 yards up the road directly to Coast Guard Beach, named as one of the Top 20 Beaches in the USA, and one of the Cape's most beautiful ocean beaches. Stop at the Salt Pond Visitor's Center, a starting point for many nature trails and bike routes. The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs the lenght of town, passing salt marshes, cranberry bogs and ponds and ends at the Visitor's Center.
If you'd prefer to linger at the house, enjoy our spacious wrap-around deck in a comfy chair or lounges,relax in the screened-in porch, or use one of our 4 kayaks to explore the pond. These modern un-sinkable kayaks are designed for all ages and perfect for kids. Perhaps you'd prefer to try your luck fishing in the pond - which is stocked with trout! We also have a basketball court for great family fun.
If you like to exercise, there are two local gyms, one more sophisticated, offering classes at all levels of classes from Spinning, to Step Aerobics, Circuit Training and Pilates. You can sign up on a walk-in basis or purchase a weekly pass at reasonable rates.
The sunsets and walks along the dunes are some of the most spectacular in the world. There is also a DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATRE located ten minutes away, which is fun for the entire family and a real throw back to the 50's!
Mini-golf is everywhere - and of course, some of the finest restaurants on Cape Cod just a few minutes away. Freshly caught local fish - the best chowder around - and all kinds of kids cuisine as well!
Whalewatching trips out of Provincetown are a must for first-time as well as repeat visitors to the Cape - and there's lots of shopping and antiquing for those interested in other activities.
The lush green beauty of New England, combined with the magnificent dunes and beaches make for a perfect summer holiday!

I found the property #5464 approximately 10 years ago, and been returning there ever since. I have been there at all seasons of the year and each is unique and beautiful. It is very easy to find and the description of all the amenties is excellent and the rental photos rreflect the beauty of the house. It is a beautiful home! Very clean, well maintained and ideal for a relaxing get-away. It is my "home away from home." The owners re delightful people and very accomodating. They have created an excellent guide of what is available in and around the house, as well as the surround area. There are some very nice restaurants nearby: Arnolds (famijly), Hole in One (breakfast), Land Ho (Pub) Impudent Oyser (Chatham-fine dining; Seafood Sam's (West Yarmouth - family) amd many others. Some of the stopes include: Snow's (high-level, bit of everything), Christmas Tree Shops, all along the Cape. Many quaint gift shops down Rt 6A and also in Chatham. The National Seashore is very close to the house and of course Herring Pond is at your backdoor ready at anytime for a ride in a Kayak, a swim in the pond, fishing or just relaxing. The most delightful beach is First Encounter Beach. Great for families with very little surf and a great sandbar for cathing crabs, building sand castles or taking a little walk. I would certainly recommnd this home (#5464) to a friend or relative. I's sure they will fall in love with this absolutely beautifual vacation home. I describe it as "a little bit of heaven on earth" and can't wait to visit it again soon.

We have been lucky enough to spend two long weekends in this wonderful, bright, comfortable home. It is hard to pull yourself away from the big pond facing deck to start dinner in the modern well equipped kitchen. Evenings are best by the fire. Large bedrooms with great beds encourage sleeping late.We think of this home as an oasis away from everyday stress.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

Our family rented here for 2 weeks in mid August, 2010. A few of the thoughts that come to mind re this property are: scenic [beautiful, private view over Herring Pond and terrific screened & open porches to enjoy the setting], quiet, comfortable, well equipped. The youngest members of our family enjoyed the small, sandy, pondside beach & the 3 visiting ducks. The older ones enjoyed the kayaks & Sunfish. The owners were very helpful & responded promptly to questions......As an added bonus, we encountered very few mosquitoes during the time we were there......All in all, we had a very pleasant & relaxing stay, felt we had made an excellent choice, & hope to return.
